To my readers and followers, I’m writing this on the morning of May 17, 2017 after revelations by the liberal media that: (1) President Trump leaked classified information to the Russians, and (2) President Trump told former FB I Director James Comey that he hoped Comey could end the investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn soon.

I’ve written much about liberal lunacy, but never in my lifetime have I seen a crazier bunch of people and crazier actions that what I’ve witnessed from the Democrats/liberals/progressives or whatever they want to call themselves these days.

With respect to number two above, according to the New York Times, President Trump’s exact words were: “I hope you can let things go.” With respect to number one above, National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster, who participated in the meeting, has said, “At no time were any intelligence sources or methods discussed, and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly.”

Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation

Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian foreign minister and ambassador

The purpose of this article is not to elaborate about the above and the unfounded allegations by the left that President Trump somehow colluded with the Russians to influence the 2016 presidential election. Instead, as a political conservative writer, the left has made my head spin with all their talk of obstruction of justice, national security breaches, and possible impeachment…unimaginable liberal lunacy.

Since late yesterday afternoon (May 16, 2017), I’ve heard the word “impeach” thrown out loosely by those in the media, including Fox News which normally is respectful of conservatives and the conservative point of view. This takes me back to the Clinton presidency when George Stephanopoulos, and ABC news anchor, on the ABC News’ Sunday morning show, “This Week,” uttered the “I” word. People, especially liberals that the former Clinton advisor would say such a word. Now we’re seeing it thrown around with reckless abandon within the last twenty-four hours.

While the left continuously attempted to damage Donald Trump and his family during the campaign for president, the American people have never witnessed anything like the constant bombardment of the Trump administration by the left through the acts of lying, hating, injuring, and property destruction…unimaginable liberal lunacy.

There were rumors going around and maybe some of them were verified, that Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell stated, not in a public forum, that he and certain Republicans were going to do everything in their power to derail the Obama presidency. The liberals “quaked and shaked” over this calling anyone who would not assimilate to the former president’s policies a racist. But no sooner had the main talking head of every major media outlet announced that Donald Trump had been elected president, the left immediately let everyone know (via the public forum) that they were going to fight tooth and nail against anything the new administration attempted to do. The word, “Resist,” was used from the moment Trump was declared President Elect. It was posted on banners everywhere the left protested. The libs even reminded the rest of us that it was patriotic to dissent and dissent was what they were going to do, never mind that dissent during the Obama administration was considered racist by the left. Even Hillary has gotten on the “Resist” bandwagon by extending the slogan to “Resist, Insist, and Persist.”

Since the inauguration of Donald Trump, and the bombardment from the left has ratcheted up several notches, I’ve told myself repeatedly to get used to it. It’s an established fact that liberals are hypocrites, and don’t care if they are labeled hypocrites. It’s becoming increasingly evident that they not only embellish, but they “out and out” lie, making up their lies out of nowhere. While I have maintained for years that liberals are the real haters, even though they have consistently accused conservatives of being haters. I think everyone is agreement, even the liberals, that they are all-consumed with hate for anyone who does not agree with them politically.

After observing the last four months, and especially the last few days, I have no other choice than to conclude that liberals are “genuine, certified loons.” The lunacy displayed by the left is unimaginable, and while I knew there would be difficulties created by the lunatic liberals in their fight against anything Donald Trump would attempt to do as President of the United States, I never envisioned what is taking place today and will surely continue to take place tomorrow, the next day, and the next.

Having said the above about liberals, I may have some decisions to make soon. Should I disassociate with anyone who is a Democrat/liberal/progressive? No liberal who I know personally or through social media has disavowed the lies, the selective hatred, the destruction of person property, nor the inflicting of bodily injury that have become common, condoned actions of the left. I have chosen to cease being friends with one person who has consistently used social media to spread lies about Donald Trump and his supporters, including those of us who didn’t support Obama. There are more out there. Will I chose to drop friends and associates? I don’t know, but it pains me to think about it. Liberals destroy everything they touch.

Or to put it in simple terms, democracy, Christianity, and the information super highway.

In an article dated June 7, 2014 in psychologytoday.com, entitled “The Cult of Ignorance in the United States: Anti-Intellectualism and the ‘dumbing down’ of America,” author Ray Williams indicates that there is a growing and disturbing trend of anti-intellectual elitism in American culture. It’s dismissal of science, the arts, and humanities and their replacement by entertainment, self-righteousness, ignorance, and deliberate gullibility.

Not so sure that I understand the complete meaning of all that was said above, but I’ll forge on anyway.

Mr. Williams gives examples of how the United States of America is being “dumbed down,” and indicates that part of the reason for rising anti-intellectual elitism can be found in the declining state of education in the U.S.  as compared to other advanced countries.  One such example is from the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, through a commissioned civic education poll among public school students: 77% of public school students didn’t know that George Washington was the first President of the United States, and couldn’t name Thomas Jefferson as the author of the Declaration of Independence. Furthermore, only 2.8 of the students could actually pass an American citizenship test. Other examples include that 18% of Americans believe that the sun revolves around the earth (according to a Gallup poll), 68% of public school children in the United States do not read proficiently by the time they finish third grade (2009 Assessment of Educational Progress), and barely 50% of students are ready for college level reading when they graduate (U.S. News & World Report).

You can review this list by going to The Cult of Ignorance in the United States: Anti-Intellectualism and the dumbing down of America.

Mr. Williams also cites another Gallup poll indicating that 42% of Americans still believe that God created human beings in their present form less than 10,000 years ago, and that 25% of public school biology teachers believe that humans and dinosaurs inhabited the earth simultaneously. Thus our Christian beliefs, including that the Bible is the immutable word of God have contributed to the “dumbing down” of America. Well, Mr. Williams, I have something to tell you: God was “taken out of our society” in 1963 following two landmark decisions, Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963) where the Supreme Court established what is now the current prohibition on state-sponsored prayer in U.S. schools. From my observations, it seems as most of the so-called “dumbing down” of America took place afterwards. In fact, it was churches in early America that established the first schools.

The article, without a doubt besmirches social media. Mr. Williams points to Bill Keller, a writer for the New York Times, who has indicated that anti-intellectual elitism is not an elitism of wisdom, education, experience or knowledge. The new elite are the angry social media posters, those who can shout loudest and more often, a clique of bullies and malcontents baying together like dogs cornering a fox. Too often it’s a combined elite of the anti-intellectuals and the conspiracy followers, not those who can voice the most cogent, most coherent response. Together they foment a rabid culture of anti-rationalism where every fact is suspect, every shadow holds a secret conspiracy. Rational thought is the enemy. Critical thinking is the devil’s tool. Herd mentality takes over online, the anti-intellectuals become the metaphorical equivalent of an angry lunch mob when anyone either challenges of the mob beliefs or posts anything outside the mob’s self-limiting set of values.

This kind of reminds me of liberals on social media. Get on a liberal thread and post an opinion different from the other posters, and you’re pounced upon, like Mr. Keller says, dogs cornering a fox.

At an early point in the article, Mr. Williams cites Pulitzer Prize winner, Richard Hofstadter, in his 1964 book, Anti-Intellectualism in American Life, describes how the vast underlying foundations of anti-elite, anti-reason, and anti-science have been infused into America’s political and social fabric.

Of course, when “anti-science” is mentioned, we conservatives almost always think about climate change. And while there are experts out there who indicate climate change is a hoax and thus, a means by which the government can more and more control over our lives, we’re demonized, sometimes to the point of being called “flat earthers” when we question the existence of climate change.

Mr. Williams’ article also quotes science fiction writer, Isaac Asimov, who once said: “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States of American, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

So, is democracy under attack here? My first question is what makes a science fiction writer an expert on American culture and democracy? It sure looks like our system of government is under attack. One of the tenants of democracy is freedom of speech and freedom of expression. We’re free to talk and express ourselves, no matter how ignorant we may appear. Sure looks to me like he’s attacking democracy by indicating that because of our ignorance, we shouldn’t have the right to question experts/those who know best.

With the advent of the Internet and subsequently one of its components, social media, people have access to the world’s knowledge at their fingertips. They also have access to the world’s garbage. We no longer have to pick up the newspaper out of the yard or time our lives by the television to get the news of the day. Instead, we grab or phones, tablets, or laptops and log on to our favorite news sites. And let’s not forget we can turn on our TVs to the various 24-hour news channels. In other words, we don’t have to wait on newspapers, news magazines, or the evening/morning network news broadcasts to know what’s taking place.

Furthermore, if there’s a subject about which we wish to learn more, we don’t have to wait until the library opens, get cleaned up and presentable, and drive to the local branch to see what information the facility may have on our topic, we get on our phone, tablet, or PC.

Because we can absorb more information in less time, from a plethora of sources, we can also form opinions and ask questions.

Through the newer mechanism of social media, we can more readily interact with those who are of like mind or those who are not of like mind. Of course, with the good, always comes the bad. We often make asses of ourselves, and we also can make asses of others.

Mr. Williams, in my interpretation of his article, tells us that the United States is an ignorant nation and is getting even more ignorant. This is because of our Christian faith, the way we govern ourselves, and our immediate access to all the world’s knowledge. It’s made us bold, it’s made us curious, it’s made us question those who put themselves forth as experts.

I agree with Mr. Williams that this country is “dumbing down” or as he would say we are becoming victims of anti-intellectualism. But it’s not because of our Christian/Judeo culture, nor is it because we are a democracy where freedom speech and freedom of expression are not quashed. And lastly, it’s not because of the Internet and subsequently social media.

It’s because we did take God out of our society in the sixties and are still doing it today. Liberalism in its utopic desire to not just guarantee everyone equal opportunity, but to insist that outcomes also be equal has led to the diminishing of competition to determine who is best, replacing competition with a one-size fits all participation trophies.

In our public schools, we seem to hesitate to delineate gifted students who should be recognized and placed on a track to learning that doesn’t allow them to become lackadaisical, losing interest and prone to fill their down time with unhealthy activities. Doing this might affect the self-esteem of the other students and perhaps discourage a potentially gifted student from giving it his or her all.

Teachers’ unions get crazy when anyone outside of academia dares to indicated that their one-size fits all concept of education might be obsolete and various mechanisms such as a school voucher might enhance the educational opportunities of millions of students across the nation.

This country was founded slightly less than 250 years ago, and it is an experiment unlike anything that has ever been tried before. Mr. Williams doesn’t seem to like this experimental nation and feels that freedom of speech and expression, Christian values, and increased access to knowledge continue to make this an ignorant nation. I don’t agree. It’s liberalism.

This is America, land of the free and the home of the brave. This is America where you have freedom of speech. If you don’t like what your government officials are doing, you can say you don’t like what they’re doing. At the next election, you can vote them out.

I say some strong stuff in this blog. I don’t like what the current administration’s doing and I say it. When I turn in tonight, I’m not fearing that a creepy black government vehicle will pull up outside my door, secret police will shoot the locks off, enter my home, drag me from my bed, and take me off to some prison where I’ll be tortured and eventually die. As far as I know that’s not currently happening and I don’t think it will. Before this kind of stuff begins to happen, I think the American people will take things in their own hands and do what’s necessary.

People are being destroyed in this country because they don’t tow the “tolerant left” line. The most recent casualty that has taken place is the shutting down of Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana. There been several stories to emerge regarding the closing down of this private family business. The latest I have read was from pjmedia.com.

According to pjmedia, an ABC-57 report our of South Bend, Alyssa Marino, was sent by her editor to the small town of Walkerton, Indiana where she just walked into Memories Pizza and asked how they felt about Indiana’s new Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Owner Crystal O’Connor says she’s in favor of it, noting that while anyone can eat in her family restaurant, if the business were asked to cater a gay wedding, they would not do it because it conflicted with their biblical beliefs. In a tweet, Ms. Marino indicated that the O’Connors had never been asked to cater a same same-sex wedding.

According to pjmedia, Memories Pizza didn’t blast out a news release. They didn’t contact the media, nor did they make a stink on Twitter or Facebook. They didn’t even post a sign in the window rejecting gay wedding catering jobs. They simply answered questions from a novice reporter who strolled into their restaurant.

On the ABC-57 news that night, quite a different story was broadcast. The story indicated that while South Bend, Indiana is “welcoming,” that small business (Memories Pizza) is not. Not only did ABC-57 create that story out of nothing, but the next day, another station reporter reported on the social media backlash against the Christian pizza shop owners. Not only did the ABC affiliate in South Bend manufacture the story with an ambush interview, they doubled down by making the reaction to the story into another story by give the impression of momentum against Memories Pizza and its owners.
Meanwhile things escalated to the point where folks who had never heard of Walkerton attached Crystal O’Connor and her business, her morality, and her Lord. Pmjedia.com also indicated that many of the remarks included racially charged descriptions of genitalia and sex acts. Reviewers also posted pictures of naked man, of Adolf Hitler shouting “ich habe ein pizza” (I have a pizza), and of Jesus gesturing with his middle finger.

In Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, a manifesto of political power, Rule No. 12 says, in part: “Go after people and not institutions, people hurt faster than institutions.” The “tolerant left” doesn’t care who gets hurt as long as they get what they want. They’re more than eager to destroy small business owners.

Also, a female coach at a high school in Elkhart tweeted, “Who’s going to Walkerton, IN to burn down #memoriespizza w me?”

From a non-story, the “tolerant left” destroys a privately owned small business in a small town in Indiana and apparently has no shame. Granted, Crystal O’Connor was not picked up by the PC police, jailed and tortured, but the “tolerant left” has destroyed her and her business just the same. This is very scary, and if it doesn’t upset you, you’re a FOOL! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

It makes me wonder how long it is going to be until the “tolerant left” comes after me, a southern white conservative Christian from the Birmingham, Alabama area. How will they find me? What will they do to me and the people who follow me? Will they destroy my personal property and the things that I have worked so hard to achieve?

There have been articles out there claiming that SunTrust bank is closing the accounts of Gun Shops. So, it looks as though the “tolerant left” is in the process of demonizing business concerns they don’t like.

It may be time to call a Convention of States in an effort to re-establish the principles on which the United States of America was founded. It may be time for the gloves to come off. Instead of lobbing back and forth on the Internet and social media, it may be time to travel to Washington D.C. and boldly confront this administration which is doing its damned well best to destroy this country. Maybe we should also directly confront the Democrat National Committee and tell the Democrats/liberals/progressives that we’re tired of their lies, tired of them ignoring facts, tired of their insults, and tired of their hate-filled rhethoric.

I’m really a nothing and a nobody, and as the liberals would say, an unenlightened oaf, but things are moving so fast that we may come to a point where those of us who hold different view that the “tolerant left” and their cohorts in the mainstream media may be subjected to physical imprisonment and torture before we know it.

I think the “tolerant left” needs to be confronted directly and I’m thinking about ways to start doing just that.
