In 2015, then President Barack Obama signed into law, the Clean Power Plan to slow the rate of climate change or global warming. It was to cut carbon pollution from existing power plants. According to townhall.com, it was the first action of the United States government to do so.

Earlier in the week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order, directing the EPA to abolish this legislation. As you can imagine, the left went bonkers.

John Hawkins, in an article on townhall.com, entitled, 5 Reasons It’s Dumb to Panic Over Global Warming, listed quotes from some well-known liberals. Van Jones, Communist, and Obama’s special advisor for Green Jobs, was quoted as saying, “Trump may have just signed a death warrant for our planet (at least, a planet that is livable for humans). And the lies he told to justify it have real consequences for real Americans, her and now.”

Another quote, this time from our friend, Michael More: “Historians in the near future will mark today, March 28, 2017, as the day the extinction of human life on earth began, thanks 2 Donald Trump…Trump has signed orders killing all of Obama’s climate change regulations. The EPA is prohibited henceforth from focusing on climate change.”

Mr. Hawkins points out that the left doesn’t worry about deficits, terrorists, health care costs, out of control spending, teachers’ unions’ strong-hold over public education, the government’s out of control spending, etc. Instead they freak out and the possibility of the planet burning 100 years from now.

The 5 reasons not to panic over climate change/global warming are as follows:

1.There is Actually No Scientific Consensus on Global Warming. Whenever any of us conservatives indicates that climate change/global warming is a hoax, particularly man-made climate change, the left always throws out that 97% figure representing the percentage of scientists that think that man-made climate change is real. Mr. Hawkins says that’s simply untrue, and reflects that, “A 2012 poll of American Meteorological Society members also reported a diversity of opinion. Of the 1862 members who responded, 59% stated that human activity was the primary cause of global warming, and 11 percent attributed to the phenomenon to human activity and natural causes in about equal measure, while just under a quarter, 23 percent, said enough is not yet known to make a determination.” Then last year, it was found that nearly six in ten climate scientists didn’t adhere to the so-called consensus on man-made climate change, per a study by the Dutch government.
2.Even if Global Warming is Happening and Mankind is Responsible, it may still make Sense to do Nothing. Former Secretary of State John Kerry, called climate change, “perhaps the most fearsome weapon of mass destruction,” and claims that unless we act, it could pose “the most catastrophic, grave threats in the history of human life.” Yet the UN Climate Panel found that the total cost of climate change by the 2070s is less than 2% of GCP. This means global warming is a problem, but is not by any means the end of the world. Its cost is equivalent to a single year of recession over the next 60 years. This comes from Bjorn Lomberg, of nationalpost.com in an article dated September 23, 2014. When you compare the threat, which we’re not sure is actually a threat, of climate change to what the world faces now, we acting like the person who is seriously injured in an automobile accident, but obsesses over the fact that her new Vera Wang dress was ruined.
3.Global Warming Theories are more Art than Science. Mr. Hawkins reminds us that we live in a world where scientists cannot tell us for sure whether it’s going to rain tomorrow, but we still have people assuring us of what the weather is going to be like in 100 years. Climate models used by scientists to predict how much human activities will warm the planet have been over-predicting global warming for the last six decades, according to a recent working paper by climate scientists, Michaels and Knappenberger. Climate models used to predict global warming have been consistently and egregiously wrong for decades.
4.We Don’t Have a Good Way to Even Know What Temperatures Were Centuries Ago. You often hear claims that every year is supposedly the “hottest on record.” Yet, we only started doing meaningful worldwide measurements in 1880, and many of those early numbers are considered to be unreliable. It’s been a mild winter in central Alabama. In fact, there have been very few days that I wore a winter coat, but do work out of my home. There were probably some days that I just didn’t go outside. We broke and came close to breaking a number of records for highest temperature on a number of days. It seemed like most of those record-breaking or near record-breaking days went back to the early 1900s. This leads me to think that we many have been in a warm cycle similar to the one that some say we are in today, back then. Also, when I was growing up in the North Alabama town of Cullman, about sixty miles north of where I live now, we would have at least one three to six-inch snow every winter. That’s not happening now, although Cullman did have about a three-inch winter before last. When I was in high school, our regular football season ended the first week in November. For the last two or three games, it was always cold. Now it’s not, leaving me to conclude that our climate is cyclical.
5.We’re in the Middle of a Global Warming Pause. Mr. Hawkins questions how we can be in a pause if liberals are claiming that we just broke a new record with every passing year. Because these “record-breaking years” are within the statistical margin of error.

To a reasonable and prudent individual, the above should bring to the conclusion that the validity of climate change/global warming is unconfirmed and questionable. Yet, folks like Al Gore, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Gina McCarthy all have insisted on many different occasions that “it’s settled, climate change/global warming exists.

Furthermore, these are other far-left zealots won’t even acknowledge studies or new statistics that affirms otherwise.

I know you’re probably tired of reading this, but I’m not going to stop. If Democrats, liberals, progressives, or whatever they want to call themselves, were the champions of the middle class and lower income individuals they claim to be, they would jump at any chance to disprove climate change, and not be in such a whirlwind to snatch us off of fossil fuels, a source of inexpensive and reliable energy, and transition us to the more expensive and unreliable green energy sources.

It keeps getting worse and worse. I celebrated this past November when the Republicans won a majority in the Senate and maintained their majority in the House of Representatives. Maybe some of this ridiculous stuff forced upon us by the liberals/Democrats/progressives or whatever they want to call themselves would be stopped or severely restrained. It hasn’t happened, though. The Senate and House Republicans seem to have turned into wimps. It seems they’re so afraid of another government shut-down and being blamed for said shut down by the current administration and the mainstream media.

The current President has indicated that he has a pen and a phone and he plans to use them to force his agenda on the America people. He attempts to justify his actions by indicating he’s only doing what he thinks is right for the American people, but knows that the Republican controlled Congress would never allow him to do it.

I’m not going to say much about the nuclear weapons deal with Iran. You can read about that yourself. But the fact that we didn’t bargain on bringing the four Americans that were political prisoners in Iran home, is unfathomable. Bringing home these men should have been the first thing out of the gate. But no! What’s going on?  While Congress will have an opportunity to vote up or down on the Iran deal, the current President can veto whatever Congress sends to him. It will take 67 votes in the Senate to overturn a Presidential veto. What’s the likelihood that’s going to happen? There’s so much wrong with that deal.

The family of Katie Steinle, the young woman who was shot in cold blood by an illegal alien who had been deported at least six times and was back taking cover in San Francisco, a sanctuary city, has received no contact from the President or anyone in his administration. However, the current President has time to correspond with convicted felons. Furthermore, local officials won’t respond to questions about the shooting. Apparently though, the current President of the United States, would rather write letters to convicted felons than send his condolences to Katie Steinle’s family.

After having been out of pocket for most of today (July 16, 2015), I’m trying to catch up with then news coming out of Chattanooga, Tennessee that four U.S. Marines have been shot and killed by a young man named Muhammed Youssef Abdulazeez. As I’m writing this, I don’t know if the current President has weighed in on these shootings. I wonder if he’ll lecture us to the effect that we should not judge all Muslims because of the actions of one individual. Of course, when a lone individual who was a disturbed racist, murders nine members of the Emanuel AME who were black, the current administration disparages the south because a picture of the murderer holding Confederate flag surfaced. Now liberals/Democrats/progressives are calling for removal of the Confederate flag from public buildings. Liberals are accusing all those who defend the Confederate flag as racists and will not give any credence to those who say the flag represents their southern heritage. That’s bigoted, don’t you think? This is going to have to play out. Chattanooga? This is getting a little close to home.

When the Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP called for the carvings on Stone Mountain of Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson be removed. I love Stone Mountain and this struck a nerve with me. If this is attempted, I will drive three hours to protest. Of course, I’ll probably be labeled a terrorist. Of course, I’m probably considered one now since I’m a Christian and pro-life.

I hope these killings will stop and I hope that somehow, someway, Congress will stop this Iran deal. It will take 67 votes to override a presidential veto, which this president has promised.

As I bring this post to a conclusion, we’re not sure if the Chattanooga shootings will be deemed terrorist attacks. We also don’t know if ISIS was at the root. We’ll see.

Tamir Rice, a twelve year old boy was shot to death by Cleveland police officer Timothy Loehman on November 22, 2014. Loehman and another officer, Frank Gamback, responded after receiving a dispatch call of a male sitting on a swing and pointing a gun at people in a city park. Supposedly, the caller indicated that the male was probably a juvenile and the gun was probably a fake. Upon their arrival, Tamir was said to have reached towards a gun in his waistband. Loehman fired two shots at Tamir, and the child died the following day. The gun was later determined to be fake.

While the two bullets that left Timothy Loehman’s gun entered Tamir’s body and ultimately caused his death, who is ultimately responsible for the death of Tamir Rice? Liberals/Democrats/progressives, the blood of Tamir Rice is on your hands.

On Thursday, June 11, a judge in Cleveland ruled that probably cause existed to charge the two police officers that were dispatched to the park where Tamir was fatally shot by one of them. I’m not going to take you through the details of the investigation, you can research and read them yourself.

Liberals, of course, rushed to judgment, disparaging the police officers without knowing any of the facts? What else is new? Liberals are not supporters of our police and start salivating anytime an incident involving white police officers and black individuals takes place. I don’t know what liberals hope to gain by disparaging our nation’s local law enforcement officers? Could they possibly want federal control of our local police? That’s a possibility.

In June 1962, the Supreme Court first ruled that government-endorsed prayer in public schools was unconstitutional. Since then liberals have worked toward taking God out of our society and unfortunately, they are succeeding. With the left’s assault on God and Christianity there are increases in crime, the number of babies born out of wedlock, the number of irresponsible fathers (and mothers), illegal drug use, alcohol abuse, etc. This country has also seen human lives devalued.

With the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964, liberals rushed in and set up various programs to “help” blacks and other minorities affected by this legislation. While their intentions may have been good at the time, fifty years later, we are still being told that we must treat blacks differently from whites because of their history of oppression. It is even being suggested that blacks be given lenience for misbehavior because they are still an oppressed people and live in a country where institutional racism is rampant. In other words, you don’t have to meet the behavioral standards that white folks have to meet, we’ll give you a pass if you misbehave.

Ever since I can remember, the left has been at war with the second amendment. While they have not yet attempted to take our guns away from us, they have sought to discourage gun ownership by American citizens. An elementary school student can be suspended for just drawing a picture of a gun. Forget bring a toy gun to school and pointing it at other students…bang, bang, you’re dead. I grew up with boy cousins who were close in age to me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been shot and killed. Fast forward to today and anything looking faintly like a gun, possessed by someone is shamed. Firearms have been excessively demonized by the “tolerant left” of this nation. Funny thing, though, ask an “anti-gun” person if they’re willing to put a sign outside their house reading “gun free zone,” and none of them say yes.

I dare say that twenty-five years ago, a child at a playground with a gun would attract very little attention and anyone witnessing a child playing with a gun on a playground wouldn’t feel the need to call the police. Little boys like guns and have them as toys.

It breaks my heart that Tamir had his young life stanched away from him by what appears to be an over-aggressive police officer. It makes me furious, though, that the environment surrounding this tragic event was totally and completed created by this country’s left. Liberals/democrats/progressives, you have the blood of Tamir Rice on your hands.

Democrats/liberals/progressives or whatever they want to call themselves have coined the phrase “Income Inequality,” something they must address, a terrible wrong that they must right. I’ll be the first to admit that this unenlightened oaf has been confused as to what the left actually wants. Do they want everyone to make the same amount of money? In other words, do they want people who sweep floors and clean toilets to make the same amount of money as one who performs delicate brain surgery or writes the code to launch missiles with nuclear warheads should the United States comes under attack? Surely not! With the tolerant left, you never know.

To you liberals, I may be an unenlightened oaf, but doesn’t the individual have control over his or her own income? Doesn’t the individual have a choice on his or her education and training? Doesn’t that individual have control on how far he or she goes, once hired, by the value of his or her work as an employee?

Having said the above, I realize than not everyone is cut out to be a brain surgeon or a high level software engineer. I could never do brain surgery, but have managed to do mid-level software engineering in the manufacturing and financial sectors. I do recognize that there are individuals out there who are probably not cable of much more than sweeping floors and cleaning toilets.

Because this concept of income inequality puzzles this unenlightened oaf, I researched the definition. According to most sources, income inequality refers to the extent to which income is distributed in an uneven manner among the population. The definition goes on to indicate that in the United States income inequality, or the gap between the rich and everyone else, has been growing markedly, by every major statistical measure, for some 30 years.

According to this definition…okay, I’m stumped. I was raised to believe that in this country, an individual takes control of their life at some point. For some, it is when they are a mere child, and for others, it may come much later. But you eventually take control and assume responsibility for yourself and those that may be dependent on you.

I had a boss in the early 2000s who admitted that the age of 39, he was married with a two year old daughter and playing in a rock band in a small town at a dive for people who didn’t have teeth. At 39 years of age, he realized that he didn’t want to do this anymore. He went back to school and radically changed his life.

At one point in my life, I worked with a guy who was somewhat lazy in high school. Upon high school graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, got a job in a factory, and lived with his wife in a trailer. After a few years, he decided that this wasn’t the life that he wanted. He went to college and earned his degree. He turned his life around, but unfortunately died from cancer when he was way too young to die.
The above two gentlemen took charge of their lives and did what they had to do in order to transition from a life that was, in their eyes, unacceptable, to something they considered acceptable considering their responsibilities. THEY DID WHAT THEY FELT THEY HAD TO DO!

That’s what we all hopefully do. Yes, we make mistakes and yes, we have regrets. I often wonder what if I had done this instead of that. Never-the-less, I have worked with the talents that God gave me in order to not only survive, but to have a few shiny toys and some good memories.

The money we earn through the utilization of our talents and through hard work is a result of the blessings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What we earn and what we have is on loan from God. Through God, and only through God, we have what we have.

The Democrats/liberals/progressives pontificate about income inequality and it seems as though they feel like what we earn as individuals is not ours nor is it God’s, but it belongs to the government. Somehow, through their twisted way of thinking, those folks who earn a substantial income and are able to afford nice things, are somehow lucky. The fact that they took charge of their lives through training and hard work means nothing.

Furthermore, again through twisted liberal thinking, they cheated the minimum wage worker who spends his or her money on drugs and alcohol; and therefore cannot make his or her car payment or rent payment. Thus, what they earn should be sucked up by the government and re-distributed equitable to everyone, making everyone “equal.”

For the person who earns slightly more than minimum wage working at a convenience store and is getting a subsidy from the government so he or she can afford a nice car and a nice apartment (maybe even a house), eat at nice restaurants and take frequent trips, where is the incentive to train for a higher paying job, then work hard to advance? For the middle-aged professional who works 50 to 60 hours a week at a stressful job to be able to afford a luxury automobile, a nice home in an upscale neighborhood, to send his children to college so they won’t be saddled with student loans, and to take nice vacations, what’s the use of continuing working so hard if the government is just going to take a huge chunk of what he or she earns and distribute it to the convenience store clerk, thereby making his or her lifestyle comparable to that of the convenience store clerk.

Congratulations current administration, congratulations Bernie Sanders because this is your central theme, and congratulations to all Democrats/liberals/progressives. You’re well on your way to destroying one of the most important pillars upon which this country was founded. You love to pass out your shiny wrapped packages and tell us we must open them to see what’s in them and when we do, the vipers those packages contain strike with fury.

The current President vetoed the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline and yesterday, the Senate failed to get enough votes to override that veto. That was expected and while I was certainly hoping that five additional Democrats would come over to our side, it didn’t happen. Will the GOP be able to get it passed while this President is still in office? We’ll have to see.

Of course, liberals are rejoicing over the GOPs failure to get enough votes to override the veto. I guess they don’t want jobs, even if many of them are temporary created for working class Americans. I guess they don’t want our ports to prosper by transporting the oil to other countries. I guess they don’t want to take steps and be a part of allowing freedom loving countries to be independent of Middle Eastern oil.

I’m about to take up a new mantra: If you’re against fossil fuels, you hate the middle class and you hate the poor. I could also say that you’re racist bigots, but I don’t think I could make that stand, even though liberals hurl that at conservatives whenever they please because they have put themselves in charge of defining racism. And it sometimes changes hourly.

I’m not against developing new sources of energy, not in the least. In fact, our nation’s oil companies are doing that even as I write this. But we can’t afford to eliminate fossil fuels. Energy produced from fossil fuels is cheaper. The so-called green energy that the liberals advocate, including the current President, is expensive. Most of us can’t afford to totally go green.

I recently took a vacation, yes a vacation, to the northern Gulf Coast. I drove my SUV and purchased about 2-1/2 tanks of gasoline that I would not have purchased if I had stayed home. I also ate out every meal. In other words, I pumped extra money into the economy down there, including generous tipping of servers. I stayed at a nice hotel where I had complete control of the temperature in my room. I benefitted because I really needed to get away and my destination benefited because I was able to pump some money into their economy.

If the price of gas was what the liberals and the current President want it to be, I might have stayed at home. If it was costing a fortune to heat my house, like the liberals want, I might also have stayed at home. Due to the current President and the liberals, I’m already having to pay a fortune for health insurance and getting less than what I had. But because I have worked hard in the past and continue to work hard, I was able to afford a modest vacation to the northern Gulf Coast, about a half days drive from my home in the Birmingham, Alabama area.

So, with liberals, including the current President hating fossil fuels and wanting to do away with them before a viable, cost-effective alternative is developed should indicate to even those who operate with only one brain cell, that the current President and his henchmen are anti-middle class. They want us to drive cars that can barely go above 50 miles per hour. They want us to be uncomfortable in our homes because the price to heat and cool our homes to our comfort level is unaffordable.

To those of you who think that liberals/democrats/progressives are champions of the middle class, you are horribly misinformed. They’re not your friends. They want you to suffer in your own home. They want you to pay more for health insurance while getting less. They hate you, they hate you, and they hate you. They think you’re too stupid to make your own decisions. They want to control every aspect of your life.

The purpose of this post is to demonstrate how liberals are anti-middle class due to their energy policies. Of course, I could go on and on, demonstrating how the liberals are anti-middle class. That will be for future posts and won’t stop until I have convinced everyone that liberals/Democrats/progressives and anything but pro-middle class.
