DEMOCRATS WHO CELEBRATE THE BIRTHDAY of MARTIN LUTHER KING ARE HYPOCRITES

With all this white privilege garbage being bantered around by the left and something new added to the definition of racism almost on an hourly basis, I was thinking about the words of Dr. Martin Luther King in his “I Have a Dream” speech.

While we’re five months away from celebrating Dr. King’s birthday, I can’t help but be saddened at how far away we have deviated from his dream.

In reviewing the text of his speech, I was searching for the following: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”

In searching for the above, I also came across this: “We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protests to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn our back.”

All my life, I have interpreted these words of Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement in its entirety to have as a goal a near color-blind society, where skin color is likened to hair color or eye color, used predominantly for identification purposes. Having said the above we can’t ignore the facts that the disease, sickle cell anemia strikes only blacks and melanoma/skin cancer strikes mostly whites.

Approximately 44 years after modern day civil rights legislation was passed, the United States of America elected its first black president, Barack Obama. I didn’t like Barack Obama, and I still don’t. He’s a Democrat and I don’t identify with Democrat party politics. I oppose the major expansion of government entitlement programs, including the government takeover of one-sixth of the nation’s economy (the health care industry). I oppose punishing and demonizing the wealthiest Americans just because they are rich, and don’t adhere to the Democrat theory that anybody who has money obtained it off the backs of those less fortunate. I believe that it is necessary to have a strong military to protect American citizens from the invasion of foreign regimes intent on destroying this country. I believe that it is necessary that Americans have the right to bear firearms in order to protect themselves from those who intend to harm. I could, of course, write more, but I’ll end it here.

But the fact that I, along with millions of others, didn’t like Barack Obama, doesn’t change the fact that in 2008, we elected a black president. This event should have signaled to the nation and the rest of the world that we’ve achieved a society in which skin color, with few exceptions, holds little more importance than hair color or eye color.

With blacks making up only 13% of the United States population, Barack Obama had to have some white votes to get elected.

After the 2008 election, and to some extent after the 2012 election, Obama supporters/Democrats demonstrated their hatred for those who didn’t march in lockstep with their policies regarding how this country should be governed. The typical Democrat rant went as follows: “You lost, get over it. We’re in charge now, we’re going to do what we’re going to do. We don’t care what you think.”

Instead of being proud that the nation’s first black president was a Democrat, and looking forward to the probability that their dreams of a socialist utopia would be closer to becoming a reality, Democrats/liberals/progressives displayed their fangs and claws in numerous attempts to “beat down” those on the other side of the political spectrum.

To be labeled a racist during this time was the worst thing that could happen to a person, something from which he or she would never survive. Thus, everyone took extreme measures to avoid having this label slapped on them.

Unlike former Democrat presidential candidate, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, during his campaign made it clear that the United States would no longer be a red country or a blue country. Instead it would be a purple country. He was going to be a president to all Americans. And that’s how it should be.

There was one little thing wrong with this. He didn’t mean it. From early on in his presidency, Obama flaunted his racism and disdain for those who weren’t in lockstep with what he wanted to accomplish as president. While most presidents, including previous president, George W. Bush, recognized that in America, we have the right to disagree with our leaders and the right to express those disagreements, Barack Obama vehemently resented all those who were against his governing philosophies.

The hate of Barack Obama toward his political opponents, gave license to the left wingers of this nation to continue the hate toward those who failed to toe their political line. Thus, anyone who didn’t go along with Obama and the Democrats was a racist. I witnessed the plight of many of my conservative friends attempting to explain to liberals that their differences with former President Barack Obama had nothing to do with his skin color, but where he stood on the issues facing this country. To these explanations, the left was deaf, dumb, and blind, continuing to hammer home that anyone who didn’t like or agree with Obama had to be a racist. Seeing that explaining to liberals about why I didn’t care for Obama was an exercise in futility, I simply referred them to this website and challenged them to find anywhere in any of my writings where I belittled Barack Obama because of the color of his skin. Of course, there are not any.

Even after visiting my blog and admitting there’s nothing in my writings where I’ve besmirched BHO with regard to his skin color, liberals will still accuse you of being a racist. They’ll say you’ve used certain “buzz” or “code” words that connect to racism. When a liberal does attempt to do this, I let him or her know that our conversation is now over. I don’t deal with “buzz words.” End of conversation.

Since the election of Donald Trump to the presidency and his subsequent inauguration, the left has been on a tear regarding not only racism, but sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia. And I understand that misogyny is the new term for sexism. White people are to acknowledge they are privileged because they are white and can’t possibly comment or have any opinions where race is concerned because they haven’t experienced the “black experience” or “the people of color” experience. It sounds like we’re on a collision course to punish white people, particularly white men and render whites powerless. Liberals seem to think that’s okay.

Tell a liberal that you don’t see things in terms of race and seek to judge people by the content of their character as opposed to the color of their skin and see what all things will get said to you. Here’s an example: “Nancy Graham do you feel better now telling us all you don’t see color? You’re a liar and that should make you feel kinda awful. Because you are awful.”

In recent months, we have witnessed a wave of accepted segregation from the left. According to the Washington Examiner, http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/black-lives-matter-group-bans-all-other-races-from-their-open-meeting/article/2619392, The Black Lives Matter organization based in Philadelphia created a public event on Facebook for a gathering they were hosting which they marketed as an “open meeting.” As many know, the supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement are very diverse. However, for the Philly chapter of BLM, their meetings and events are strictly “black spaces” according to their FB event announcement. When pressed via Twitter, the official account of BLM Philly explained that anyone is free to support the movement from a distance, however, their meetings are only for black people. They even cited Malcom X, the human’s rights activist who advocated for segregation.

And remember, Evergreen College, that liberal bastion in Washington state? The students sponsored a “Day of Absence & Day of Presence demonstration for which white students, faculty, and staff were asked to leave campus for one day. Biology professor, Bret Weinstein was berated by dozens of students outside his classroom on the day of the event for refusing to participate in the event.

It seems that liberals are poised to steer the American culture toward a culture that supports segregation and judging people by the color of their skin. It’s perfectly okay to call someone a racist, or for that matter, a misogynist, a xenophobe, homophobe, etc. with no concrete proof. We’re liberals, we’re superior, we make up definitions to suit our needs of the moment, and if we say you’re something, then you are. The end.

Dr. King said in “I Have a Dream,” “We must not allow our creative protests to degenerate into physical violence.” Well, so much for that. According to liberals, it is okay to riot, destroy property, injure, or even assassinate or murder when something happens that we don’t like.

“The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.” Again, so much for Dr. King’s dream. We’re now told that all white people, especially white males are evil. Even those who stand with us in our efforts to destroy property, injure, maim, and even kill, are not to be allowed in our inner circles. They must realize their evilness and submit to whatever punishments we wish to inflict upon them.

“We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.” This instruction from Dr. Martin Luther King is obviously out the window with the left advocating separation of the races and the banning of whites from anything and everything involving “people of color.”

And yet, in five months when Martin Luther King’s birthday rolls around, we’ll be treated to a sickening display of liberal leaders, including Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Corey Booker, Keith Ellison, etc. singing the praises of Dr. King. I have a couple of close friends who are black and liberal. They will certainly attend the many local celebrations held in the Birmingham area.

The folks I mentioned above, including my friends are hypocrites, yes hypocrites. If you support what’s currently taking place in this nation with respect to race, you’re a hypocrite. You’re no better than George Wallace in his early years as governor of Alabama. You’re no better than Birmingham Police Commissioner, Bull Conner, of firehose and police dog fame. In fact, you exist on the same plane as the Ku Klux Klan. How can you even celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday when you’re an advocate of today’s racial politics?

Wait! I know! You’re liberals, you have no scruples, no sense of fairness, no sense of wrong and right. It’s whatever suits your needs of the moment and gives you a euphoric complex of superiority. And anyone who dares to disagree with you…well, we know about that.

MORE LIBERAL HATE – THE WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG ROLL

The annual White House Easter Egg Roll is an event that has taken place either on Easter Sunday or the following Monday. Traditionally, it is planned by the current first lady and her staff. From the believable accounts that I have read regarding this year’s event, it was a success.

However, leave it to the liberals and their absolute hatred toward President Donald Trump to pick apart every little detail of this historic event.

Planning the Easter Egg Roll generally falls to the first lady and the East Wing of the White House. Of course, liberals did not waste any time disparaging the new administration regarding the planning and organizing.

The first thing we heard from the left in their quest to trash the current administration, was that the wooden egg manufacturer, Maine’s Wells Wood Turning, had to gently remind the White House that the deadline for ordering the eggs was approaching. From what I could piece together, the company, Wells Wood Turning send a tweet asking the first lady and the administration to please reach out. Duh! If you are trying to get in touch with someone and it is an emergency, you do not exclusively use Twitter; you utilize all forms of communication including pre-historic methods such as telephone calls and emails. You can also resort to Facebook messages, texting, and finally Twitter. The fact that Twitter may have been used exclusively is suspect. Was this Maine company actually making an effort to get in touch with the administration, particularly, the East Wing?

Next, the liberals just had to make something out of Melanie nudging the President, prompting him to place his right hand over his heart when the national anthem was played. What woman has not had to prompt her man to do something he should be doing? I thought it was funny. This little incident brought back a memory when Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper were attending some event. Al Gore, along with a couple of other folks were recognized. The Vice President started clapping, but Tipper whispered to him, “You’re not supposed to clap for yourself.” I thought this was hilarious, and feel the same way about Melania having to nudge the president to put his hand over his heart. However, the liberals, with their out of control hatred for Donald Trump, his family, his administration, and his supporters, spent much time exacerbating this incident to the point of ridiculousness.

Then we have the incident where it has been alleged by the ‘capable of nothing but sheer hatred’ liberals, that the president signed a “Make American Great Again” baseball cap passed to him by a young boy wanting the president’s autograph. Supposedly, president tossed it into the crowd, instead of handing it to the boy. I read one account from British media that the young man requesting the autograph did catch the cap. I then read about other incidents where the president signed caps and tossed them into the crowd instead of passing them to the original owners. I have not been able to get much information on this except from the far-left smear merchant websites. Perhaps the right-leaning websites considered it too unimportant to write about.
Why this may have happened, I do not know. I am not a popular person. In fact, I am not very well liked by many individuals in and around the Birmingham, Alabama and central Alabama areas. While this area is one of the biggest conservative strong-holds in the nation, we do have liberals. And because they are in the minority, they have extra hate in their hearts. So, I do not know and will probably ever know what it feels like to have a multitude of folks vying for my autograph. Would I get confused if that ever happened to me? I don’t know. The far-left smear merchant websites even some of the left-leaning MSM sites wrote their articles indicating that Donald Trump knew exactly what he was doing and was intentionally doing it to intentionally bully the young boy.

When you think about it, it just doesn’t sound right. In fact, I would not even accuse Barack Obama of doing something like that. Yes, Barack Obama hated the United States of America and had as his goal to destroy this country, I think with children, he would not have done something like this.

The next thing the liberals brought out regarding the Easter Egg Roll was that there were an overwhelming number of white children attending. Liberals were indicating that children attending the Washington D.C. public schools, where the majority of the students are black weren’t invited to the Egg Roll. Even some teachers in the D.C. public schools went on record as saying their classes were not invited.

After doing a little investigating, I found out that invitation to D.C. public school students is done by lottery. Now that this year’s Egg Roll is over, the White House website has loaded a page where groups or individuals can sign up for the lottery. While the date for the 2018 Egg Roll has not been announced, instructions for entering the lottery were given. The web page further indicated that Easter Egg Roll tickets were free and were made available via an online lottery March 15 – 18. Easter Egg Roll Lottery (2018 dates not announced yet). I also found an article on the Washington Post website dated March 15, apparently 2017, indicating that “the online lottery for the popular White House Easter Egg Roll opens Wednesday. White House Easter Egg Roll lottery opens today.

I was also able to find an article from dcpcsb.org indicating that the President and First Lady Michelle Obama have invited 250 students from D.C. charter schools to attend this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll on April 25. The article went on to indicate that the C.D. Public Charter School Board recommended the schools based on their progress in increasing student achievement and incorporating programs that promote health and wellness. Five D.C. Charter Schools Invited to the White House Easter Egg Roll.

With this article, I have haven’t connected all the dots, but it looks as though liberals are doing what they said they would do after the object of their worship lost the presidential election…fight President Donald Trump tooth and nail on anything his administration attempts to accomplish, even to the detriment of the well-being of the United States of America and the American people. In other words, the liberals do not care if they damage this country or hurt their fellow Americans, it is all about hate and destroying those who do not agree with them and refuse to toe the liberal line.

It pays to do a little investigating, doesn’t it?

THE MORNING AFTER

I had better get busy with this article because even though it’s still the morning after, it’s getting close to being the “afternoon after.” I certainly didn’t expect Donald Trump to win the presidency. From all accounts and media outlets, including Fox News, Mr. Trump’s chances of winning were estimated to be slim to even none. He was drug through the mud like no political candidate had ever been. Some Democrats, including First Lady, Michelle Obama, were expressing utter shock at what he was overheard saying on the Access Hollywood tape, even though fowl-mouthed rapper Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé are included among those in the Obama inner circle.

In the short time I’ve been at my desk and perused social media, I have seen so much vitriol and hatred coming from Democrats directed at Donald Trump and his supporters. I’m also seeing some Democrats express disbelief that their gal, Hillary lost. “Oh, but she’s the smartest, most caring woman in the world.” Get real, she screws up everything she touches. Hey, Democrats, not everyone agrees with you. Here’s a list of things, not in any particular order.

  • Not everyone thinks government is all powerful, all loving, and always perfect. Some of us believe that the private sector does a lot of things much better than government and should be left to do so. That was one of the principles on which this country was founded, and many of us believe in this 240-year-old principle.
  • Not everyone thinks that it’s okay to kill the unborn just because carrying that child to term is inconvenient for the mother. Science has proven that upon conception that fertilized egg takes on human characteristics such as brain and heart activity.
  • Many of us respect the armed forces and feel that a strong military is necessary to the well-being of our nation and the safety of our citizens.
  • There are those of us who respect our nation’s local law enforcement. And while there are certainly “bad cops” out there, most our policemen and women are fine people who deserve our respect as they work from day to day to protect us from criminal activity and assist us when necessary.
  • We live in the last half of the second decade of the twenty-first century. Slavery ended in 1865 and additional civil rights legislation was pass over a half-century ago. While racism exists and continues to exist until Christ returns and sets up his 1000 year reign here on earth, most of us believe in and have worked to established equal opportunity, but realize that with equal opportunity, we cannot guarantee equal outcome.
  • Most of us believe that we have the right to exercise our freedom of speech, especially when it comes to holding our government officials accountable; and don’t like the way you have many hurled the “racist” accusation at those who have disagreed with the policies of the first black president, Barak Obama. You have also come up with the ridiculous notions that the American flag is racist, and that chanting “USA” is racist. It seems that whenever you can’t decide on what to call those with whom you disagree, you, with reckless abandon, just hurl the term racist. In fact, you make up the definition of racism to suit your needs of the moment. Again, many of us just don’t like that.
  • Many of us question the existence of man-made climate change, and there are many articles written by respected scientists who have refuted this theory. However, Democrats have consistently hurled insults and called those who didn’t agree with them unflattering names. Again, not everyone agrees with you on this issue and many of us were fearful of the ridiculous regulations that were being crammed down our throats in the name of climate change.
  • Many of us don’t agree with you in your efforts to soak the rich and screw over businesses. These are the entities who issue our paychecks. When our employers prosper, we, the middle class, tend to do better.
  • Most of us don’t want government-run healthcare. We warned if the dangers when the ACA was being crammed down our throats using every legislative trick in the book. Our nation’s healthcare system is a mess. Democrats this is your fault. You own it; lock, stock, and barrel. Now it looks like it will be up to the Republicans and the Trump administration to fix it. Thanks a lot, Dems!
  • Most of us want to win the war on Islamic terrorism and believe we need to define the problem in order to solve it. We believe that ISIS is the twenty-first century Third Reich and must be destroyed, and never allowed in this country.
  • Immigration: You Democrats have never acknowledged that there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration. When someone says they’re against illegal immigration, you make no distinction between legal and illegal and hurl the xenophobia accusation. We want illegal immigration diminished and feel that a wall on the Mexican border will go a long ways in solving this problem.
  • A lot of us would like to be able to defend ourselves from an attacker either before or after the police are called. We’d rather not have the police come, tag our dead bodies, and call the morgue to come and get us.
  • Most of us want to maintain Israel as a trusted ally. If fact, it’s necessary. God has indicated that he will punish those who turn their backs on Israel.

The above outlines many of the areas where the two major political parties disagree, and as I’ve been saying all along, liberals, Democrats, progressives, or whatever it is they want to call themselves these days can’t seem to believe that anyone could possibly have different view. And if they have different views, they’re stupid and evil. Furthermore, Democrats don’t appear to believe in free speech unless they agree with the speech.

I’ve been called a sore winner this morning, and that’s probably right. I want to lash out. I want to do the same things to Democrats that they did to me eight years ago and have continued to do to me and other conservatives since then. I’m a flawed individual, but grateful that those flaws have been paid for.

BEYOND SKIN COLOR? WE SHOULD BE

According to conservativebrief.com, NFL star quarterback, Cam Newton, has found himself in hot water over comments he made against President Obama’s race-baiting agenda, indicating that he is beyond skin color.

cam-newton--0816-12

In an interview with GQ, a reporter tried to get the Carolina Panther QB to blame racism for the reason why many fans dislike him on and off the field. Cam, however, refused to take the bait. “It’s not racism. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion.”

Before Super Bowl 50, Cam made the following comment, “I’m an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to. I don’t want this to be about race, because it’s not. It’s not. Like, we’re beyond that as a nation.”

The article on conservativebrief.com goes on to indicate that the GQ reporter continued to try to press Newton about the fact that some fans dislike him. I don’t know if the reporter meant Panthers’ fans or fans of other teams.

Cam responded, “I’ll let you be the judge. I don’t look at it like that. I look at it like some people have certain beliefs, and I have my own belief, and we can agree to disagree on certain things. But this is what makes sports so amazing, that we can start a discussion around a table, in the newspaper, in the magazines, that will get people’s attention. And that’s what sports does.”

Cam is right, we’re beyond that. This is not the fifties or sixties, we’re living in the last half of the second decade of the twenty-first century.

A lot of folks don’t like Cam and it’s because he’s good and doesn’t play for their team. I don’t like him. On what I consider one of the worst days of my life, a rainy November 26, 2010, I sat in Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and watched Cam Newton bring his college team back from a 21 point deficit to beat Alabama. Subsequently, the Auburn Tigers, on the arm and legs of Cam Newton won the national championship.

Cam is good, probably the best ever, and when you’re good, many people are not going to like you. The liberals don’t get it, though. They’re rooted in the fifties and sixties, and from all indications, it seems as though they want to remain there. When Carolina played Denver in the Super Bowl this past winter, liberals were attempting to declare that anyone who rooted for Denver over Carolina was a racist. It didn’t matter that you cheered for teams that Cam played against and beat, both college and professional.

With the Obama administration continually pushing to divide us, among other things, along racial lines and the liberals only happy to do what they can to convince minorities that white conservatives hate them because of the color of their skin, I was concerned about the relationship between blacks and whites where I live and in other areas of the south. Thankfully, I can’t tell any difference in the attitudes her and in other places. The blacks don’t seem to have let the liberal rhetoric and lies influence them, thus are beyond skin color.

Business concerns took me to Jackson, Mississippi this past weekend where I stayed in a large hotel in downtown Jackson. Many of the hotel personnel were black and I couldn’t have been treated any nicer, and it seemed to be a “sincere” nice, not a “fake” nice that you see so much of today.

When black NFL head coaches Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy took their teams to the Super Bowl in 2007, one of the gentlemen was asked by the media how it felt to have two black head coaches in the Super Bowl, a first. The coach, not sure which one, replied to the effect that skin color was not important. What was important was that two Christian brothers facing each other.

After an early 2000s’ development in the 1963 Sixteenth Street Church bombing in Birmingham, where, on a Sunday morning, four young girls were killed, Condoleezza Rice, a native of Birmingham and National Security Advisor under George W. Bush, was asked about the developments, in which two of the suspects were finally indicted, tried, and sentenced to life in prison. Ms. Rice, of course, was asked about this because she was black. Like everyone else, in the nation, the National Security Advisor was glad that these monsters had been brought to justice. But she also seemed a little annoyed that she was asked such an obvious question. Yes, she is a black woman, but we’re now living in the twenty-first century and have moved beyond that, beyond skin color.

Cam Newton gets it, Tony Dungy gets it, Lovie Smith gets it, Condoleezza Rice gets it, and millions of conservatives get it. We are happy to say, we’re beyond skin color. Sadly, Barak Obama doesn’t get it, the folks working in his administration don’t get it, Michelle Obama doesn’t get it, Hillary Clinton doesn’t get it, and millions of liberals, including black liberals don’t get it.

Note: Thanks go to conservativebelief.com for information relating to Cam Newton and factmonster.com for facts relating to the Sixteenth Baptist Church bombing.

FIRST DAY OF THE DEMOCRAT NATIONAL CONVENTION

While I was aware of the protests by Bernie Sanders supporters outside the convention hall during the day and the booing of ex-DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, I didn’t tune in to watch the convention until almost 6:00 CDT. Furthermore, I did want to hear the commentary and watched the Fox News Channel. I watched the speeches of Corey Booker, Michelle Obama, Elizabeth “Fauxkahontas” Warren, and Bernie Sanders.

Common Themes of the Democrat National Convention

Booker, Fauxkahontas, and Sanders talked about what’s currently wrong with this country such as millions living in poverty, millions on food stamps, the lack of opportunity, income inequality, etc. But they seem to forget that a Democrat had the bully pulpit for 7-1/2 years plus they completely controlled Congress for Obama’s first two years in office.  This probably resonated the most with me.

Booker, Fauxkahontas, and Sanders also indicated that Donald Trump’s acceptance speech was a negative one with Booker indicating that with his speech, he incited fear. I have to wonder if any of them watched Trump’s acceptance speech or read a transcript of it afterwards.

Again, all three of them spoke about Trump’s alleged shady business dealings, mentioning the four companies in which he bankrupted and the vendors which he allegedly didn’t pay for their services. We all know there is no love lost between Donald Trump and Fauxkahontas, and the vehement dislike that Warren has for Trump was on display during her speech.

With Fauxkahontas leading the pack, all three speakers did touch on Trump’s alleged racism and his comments about Mexicans coming into this country illegally rapists.

Overall Impressions

While Corey Booker’s speech has only been discussed sparingly, I thought his speech was the most palatable of them all. He began by talking about our founding fathers, patriotism, love of country, and how this country was great.

Booker said felt that Donald Trump incited fear in his acceptance speech last week and accused him of being a racist for his remarks about Mexicans coming to this country illegally, many of whom were racists and criminals. Booker expressed concern about Trump allowing his racist views to affect his decisions. Well, didn’t U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Sonya Sotomayor say that her ethnic background and attitudes would certainly affect the decisions she has to make?

Booker also pointed out that Trump said the he would not allow Muslims to come into this country because of how they pray. What Donald Trump actually said was he would not allow them into this country until this could be straightened out, meaning until they could be properly vetted.

He ended his speech saying that families were the building block of this nation and that we were a nation, indivisible, under God, and God bless America. Some of the liberals had to have been upset with the mentioning of God and families.

Michelle Obama’s speech was not necessarily as political as the speeches given by Booker, Fauxkahontas, and Sanders. She seemed to dwell on what she and hubby have had to go through and have been called. While she didn’t say it outright, I’m guessing that she was saying she and hubby had difficulties because they’re black, though Barak is half white. You know what, Michelle, everyone has their difficulties and their crosses to bear. But look at you, you’re one of the most admired women on the planet (not by me, of course). Your every whim is catered to. You dine on expensive food, wear expensive clothes, and take expensive vacations. Doesn’t sound like you’ve had it all that bad.

She commented on having to wake up every day in a house built by slaves. She hasn’t awakened every morning during Barak’s presidency in the White House because she’s taken so many vacations. First, the White House was not built solely — or even primarily — by slaves. In addition to the slaves, the labor force consisted of local (from Maryland and Virginia) white laborers and artisans and a number of immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, and other European nations. Second, the government paid the slaves who worked on the White House. While many of the surviving records only indicate payments made to their masters, at least one slave — Philip Reid — was paid directly, a sum of $1.25 per day ($31 per day in 2016 dollars).

Michelle also indicated that the United States was a great country, but that’s not what she said eight years ago. Eight years ago, she said, after hubby became the nominee, that this was the first time she had ever been proud of her country. Could she possibly have thought that Barak and Barak alone made this country great?

As one talking head observed, Fauxkahontas ripped the skin off of Donald Trump. This is no surprise since the two don’t like each other. In listing all the things that are wrong with this country and need solving, she directly blamed the Congressional Republicans for these wrongs. Again, like Booker and Sanders, she has seemed to have forgotten that Democrats controlled the Senate and the House during Obama’s first two years in office.

Bernie’s speech was mostly socialism/communism. He thanked his supporters for voting for “political revolution.” He also said to his supporters that he hoped they were willing to pay an enormous price as they begin the transformation of the United States of America. He’s looking forward to being a part of the transformation struggle. Little scary there.

Without actually using the word, “endorse,” he indicated that his full support would be directed her way and from what I understand, he had to beg and plead with his supporters to not cause problems at the convention.

Of course, he called for re-distribution of wealth and indicated that everyone who works a forty hour seek should not live in poverty. He also indicated that the minimum wage should be replaced with a living wage. Then there was more of the “free college” rhetoric. Karl Max 101. What else can I say?

At one point in his speech, Bernie talked about presidents before Obama had added to the national debt. But he failed to mention that Obama, all by himself, tripled the national debt during his presidency.

He also mentioned climate change, indicating that it is a great environmental crisis facing our planet and we must transform our energy from fossil fuels to clean energy.

Moving onto universal healthcare, he acknowledged what all of knew, that he is an advocate of the single-payer system. He wants every American to have access to health care. Wasn’t that what Obamacare was supposed to do, Bernie?

Finally, he called for the breaking up of financial institutions once they became too large, and the re-passage of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act. Bernie is also against the Trans-Pacific Partnership as is Donald Trump.

While a lot of us consider most things that Democrats say as disturbing, there were a few things said last night that should scare any American.

Both Fauxkahontas and Bernie called for shutting down Citizens United. According to its website, Citizens United is an organization dedicated to restoring our government to citizens’ control. Through a combination of education, advocacy, and grass roots organization, Citizens United seeks to reassert the traditional American values of limited government, freedom of enterprise, strong families, and national sovereignty and security. Citizens United’s goal is to restore the founding fathers’ vision of a free nation, guided by the honesty, common sense, and good will of its citizens. According to Wikipedia, it is a conservative 501(c) 4 non-profit organization.

Citizens United is a private organization and unless is it doing something illegal, it has every right to exist. The fact that Bernie and Fauxkahontas (I think) want to shut this organization down should send chills down everyone’s back. Shutting down private organizations such as Citizens United and the NRA is ruthless totalitarianism. Everyone should be scared. Liberals have also talked about shutting down the NRA, another private organization that has every right to exist.

Bernie talked about revolution and while it was by revolution that this country was founded, the very word does scare most of us. More specifically, Bernie talked about the political revolution and said he hoped that his supporters were be willing to pay an enormous price in transforming America. He further said that he was looking forward to participating in the struggles of the political revolution to transform the United States of America. Does this not sound like a declared goal, and one that is to be continued until this nation is completely transformed into the socialist/communist utopia that the liberals desire?

Today, many of the talking heads seem to be slobbering all over Michelle Obama and the speech she gave last night. No one hardly mentions Corey Booker’s speech. Tonight we’re certain to be entertained by Michael Brown’s mother, Lezley McSpadden, and other members of “Mothers of the Movement,” which includes those who had loved ones who died due to gun violence while in police custody or as a result of police actions, whether the actions were justified and the victim was resisting arrest or attempting to kill the police officer, making no difference.

Lastly, former President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker. The former chief executive has grown older and has some serious health issues. We’ll be able to gauge how much his health problems and the aging process have affected his once high energy level.

And did anyone of you notice, there are no American flags in the convention hall; and last night, there was no mention of national security, ISIS, or any other Islamic terrorism group?
