For years, I have been treated shabbily by liberals. I haven’t been called a racist much because anyone who knows me knows that just isn’t true. This conservative has more black friends than all of my liberal friends combined have. However, I have been called a disgrace to my gender and have been accused of not caring about public education.

Shortly after starting the Wing Nut Gal blog, I had the fortunate, yes, fortunate experience of drawing the wrath of a prominent local liberal. She went into full attack mode after I made a comment to one of her Facebook posts that she didn’t like. First she changed the subject and then started hurling accusations at me and called my comments hateful. They weren’t. Looking back on it now, her reaction was comical and obviously scripted. I’m thinking that she must have attended some Democrat leadership conference and was schooled on how to beat down a conservative. Because she couldn’t have an honest debate with me on facts and statistics, she had to resort to changing the subject and hurling insults at me in order to shake me up.
While I was upset and stayed upset for several hours, I realized that if I was going to “put myself out there,” I had to accept that what this locally prominent liberal did to me would often happen. If I couldn’t take the heat, then I needed to get out of the kitchen. This is the reason I consider this experience to be a fortunate experience.

A couple of months later, I had a similar experience, again on Facebook. The liberal changed the subject and became emotional and accusatory.

Then about a month ago, a liberal friend of mine, a school teacher, and she is a friend, interjected herself into a Facebook post after I mentioned something about Alabama’s new Charter Schools’ bill that had just been signed into law. I was not advocating charter schools, I just mentioned the law. This school teacher friend, with the cap locks on, angrily indicated her opposition to the bill. Her interjection was inappropriate with regard to my comment and the subject of the original poster. I called her down on it and haven’t heard from her since, but we don’t live in the same town.

The point I’m trying to make is that the school teacher failed to read what I said and failed to grasp the subject of the post. When she saw the phrase, “Charter Schools,” she went ballistic and, in my opinion, made an ass out of herself. That’s typical liberal behavior.

Liberals also don’t care about facts. You can cite statistics until you’re blue in the face and they just won’t grasp them. “Hands up, don’t shoot,” is a classic example. It was proven time and time again that Michael Brown, the black teenager shot to death in Ferguson, Missouri by a white policeman, did not have his hands up and was not begging the policeman not to shoot him. Because liberals continued to use the “hands up, don’t shoot” mantra, it’s obvious that they don’t care about facts.

Liberals lie and get away with it. Prior to the 2012 presidential election, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, on the Senate floor, accused Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, of not paying his taxes. Reid made the accusations on the Senate floor because he could not be held for libel or slander while on the Senate floor. Mitt Romney did pay his taxes and Harry Reid lied. However, it was up to Mitt Romney to prove that he, indeed, paid his taxes. When later approached about his lies, Reid was no repentant. Instead, he said, “He didn’t get elected.”

Liberal can and do lie about conservatives and it’s up to the conservative who’s being lied about to disprove the lie. A lot of this is due, though, to a left leaning mainstream media that will not hold liberals accountable for their statements.

Bill O’Reilly summed it up on his Fox Cable News show on 5/11. Bill said that the lie would start on a second tier website, then a more prominent website would pick it up. Next, it would get picked up by the mainstream media and would be in the newspapers and on the network news. Of course, no one would bother to fact check. Mr. and Mrs. Low Information Voter hears it and accepts it as fact. The Mr. and Mrs. Low Information Voter vote. A few weeks ago, a low information voter friend of mine indicated that she thought our relations with Iran and Cuba were “all good.” In fact, she want to go to Cuba because she thinks their fifties style of living is just so quaint. I invited her to read this blog and she refused saying she wanted nothing to do with politics. My thought: “Okay, look and sound stupid.”

Conservative talking heads are now verifying that liberals don’t care about facts and statistics. They are also verifying that liberals are refusing to engage in honest debate on the issues. Instead they change the subject and start hurling insults and accusations at their conservative counterpart.

Fox News Contributor and also an acknowledged liberal has written a book called “The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech.” I downloaded it to my Kindle on Monday and can’t wait to read it from cover to cover because from the excerpts that I’ve read, Ms. Powers is saying everything that I’ve been saying about liberals for over a year.

There’s so much going on in the political world at this point in history. There are so many things to write about and I could easily spend all of my time writing political blog posts, but I do have other priorities with respect to the next couple of weeks of my life. Since I write about what I want to write about, I’ve chosen to write about the latest developments in Obamacare.

According to the website, hotair.com, Obamacare architect, Jonathan Gruber, who has forcefully insisted that the basis of the upcoming Supreme Court case, King vs. Burwell, was based only on a typo in the Affordable Care Act, was captured on camera insisting that the language in the ACA denying federal subsidies to states that do not elect to set up their own exchanges was by design.

Also according to Hot Air, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor later admitted that the law (Obamacare) was designed in a deceptive manner in order to promote the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to score it in a manner conducive to passage. Gruber went on to say that the bill was written in a tortured way to make sure that the CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If the CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill would die. Gruber went on to add that lack of transparency is a huge political advantage and can be quoted as saying, “Call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass.

Of course, we’re now hearing that Gruber’s comments were at an academic conference where he claimed to be “speaking off the cuff.” He further said that he spoke inappropriately when he took credit for pulling the wool over the eyes of the American people in order to insure the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

So, Gruber is trying to do some damage control. Big Woo! When the American people were told if they liked their health insurance plan that they could keep their insurance plan, they were lied to. When the American people were told that if they liked their doctors, they could keep their doctors, they were lied to. When the American people were told that insurance premiums for the average family would go down approximately $2,500, they were lied to.

Obamacare was supposed to be great. All those pool souls who were never able to afford health insurance would now have access to quality healthcare. When ACA was signed into law, some bleeding heart liberals wept for joy. It was truly an emotional moment and a big turning point in our nation’s history. The uninsured would have insurance/access to healthcare, the American people would see their premiums drop, the deficit would be lowered, jobs would be created, and the economy would once again boom.

YEA RIGHT! A half decade later, many of us, including me are scared to death regarding the future of their healthcare. My investment portfolio has surely gone up with the rise in the stock market, but how much will my insurance premiums go up when I go off of my COBRA plan at the end of this year. Will it take the increase in my net worth just to provide myself with health insurance? I don’t know and I’m scared. And I’m sure that I’m not the only one. I’ve worked hard and I don’t feel that I should have to worry about health care. I don’t deserve any of this stress and neither do millions of Americans.

ACA was sold to us by a bunch of snake oil salesmen, also known as Democrats. We were told that this will make the quality of our lives better. This was implemented as a tool to enhance the lives of the American people. Of course, it’s none of the above.

The government is supposed to work for the American people, and as it says in the preamble of the United States constitution, promote the general welfare. The pieces legislation passed by Congress and signed into laws are supposed to make the lives of the majority of the American people better, aren’t they?

The fact that the implementers of ACA knew that they couldn’t get it passed except through secrecy, through lies, and through taking advantage of every legislative trick in the book should speak volumes to everyone that this law is poison, evil, and does not promote the general welfare of American citizens. But why would our elected officials who are supposed to be looking out for our best interests do something that’s going to hurt everyone and weaken the country as a whole? They’re supposed to be working for us, aren’t they?

The sole purpose of this law was not to enhance the lives of Americans, much less provide much needed access to healthcare for those uninsured; instead, its purpose is to further expand the federal government and increase the dependency of Americans on the federal government. With ACA, the federal government has snatched up one-sixth of the nation’s economy and nationalized it. It was never intended to enhance our lives or to provide for those poor souls who don’t have access to health care; it is about further government intrusion into our lives and taking control of as many aspects of our lives as possible.

Just like the rogue regimes of Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, China, Iran, and more; the government has intentionally harmed its citizens with the ACA and knows exactly what it’s doing. The United States of America has its own Axis of Evil, make no mistake about it. America’s Axis of Evil includes Barak Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi. There; I’ve said it. It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Nancy Pelosi’s power has been greatly diminished and Harry Reid’s power will soon go the way of Ms. Pelosi’s. We will have Barak Obama, though. As a result, the next two years are going to be very important ones and will surely determine whether we can reverse the trends of the past six years and take our country back or whether the United States of America, land of the free and home of the brave, be only a fading memory.

No sooner than the last votes were counted and the results were in from the November 4, 2014 mid-term elections, the current president of the United States let everyone know that he doesn’t give a rip about the United States of America nor does he give a rip about the citizens of the United States of America. His purpose as the president of the United States is to take this country down, to destroy this country. Yes, I said destroy this country. His intent was never to make this country more prosperous.

How can I possibly say this, you may ask? Well, just look at the policies that he and his Democrat henchmen have crammed down our throats. Obamacare is certainly not making America a more prosperous nation. People are going to be paying substantially more for health care and get less. While the stock market is up and my portfolio is a little bigger, it’s probably going to take that increase in my wealth to pay for my health insurance. Of course having to pay more for health insurance is going to make it necessary that I cut back on other things like going out to eat, taking trips, and going to concerts, etc. The restaurants won’t take in as much money; the hotels won’t take in as much money, and so on. It will have a trickledown effect.  When millions of people are in the same boat, this will certainly affect our economy. Furthermore, granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens who are breaking the law just by being in this country illegally will make certain areas very dangerous to live in, drive through, and work in. Furthermore, these folks will be competing with real American citizens for jobs. Not everybody will be able to get a job, thus, increasing amounts will be distributed for unemployment, welfare, food stamps, healthcare, etc. I could write a lot more, but won’t because the above is not the purpose of this post. The above is to demonstrate how the current president hates the United States of America and its citizens.

I heard someone on the news earlier say that what just happened to the current president hasn’t sunk in yet. Well, I disagree. I believe that the current president knows just what has happened to him. He is trying to minimize it by saying that because voter turnout was low and many in his base failed to make the effort to vote, that the American people still love him and his policies. I wonder who came up with that spin?

In addition to his life-long hatred of Republicans, he is also mad and Senate and House Democrats who were up for re-election and tried to distance themselves from him as they campaigned for re-election. Furthermore, he is angry at his base that didn’t bother to vote. So, this president is very angry and the United States of America.

Like I said in my previous post, this president didn’t lose his pen nor his phone and I have no doubt that he will continue to implement toxic policies via executive orders just to spite everyone. If there are any of you out there who believe that this president is going to make an effort to work with Congress , I have some swamp land in Louisiana that you might be interested in.  He’s going to veto every piece of legislation that is sent to him. Perhaps with a few pieces, sixty-seven votes might be garnered in the Senate to override a presidential veto, but that’s going to be difficult.

The president has never taken responsibility for his mistakes, always blaming them on someone else; and this is not going to change either. Everything will be the fault of the Republicans and the press will still be in lockstep with this president all the way.

One might say that I’m upset with the election results. I most certainly am not. I’m ecstatic about the results. My prayers were answered. But we have to realize that just because Republicans/conservatives have been elected doesn’t mean that we, as private citizens can sit back and say, “Okay, the Republicans are in the majority, our country is saved.” We should all take some actions to combat what is going to be said by this president, by Nancy Pelosi, by Harry Reid, by prominent liberals, and by the press. We’re going to have to take on arguments and present our side in a respectable manner. One of the things that we all can do is visit some of these liberal websites such as salon.com, slate.com, motherjones.com, huffingtonpost.com, etc. and post comments. I know most of these sites will make you create a username, password, and give them your email address. Do it! If you don’t want to give them your main email address and I suggest that you don’t, get a freebie email address from Google, Yahoo, or some other entity that offers free emails. That’s what I intend to do. When taking on liberals, it has been my experience that they don’t read what you write and start calling you names and accusing you of things that don’t even relate to what you are posting. DON’T PUT UP WITH THAT! Tell them that you will be happy to have a reasonable online conversation with them, but you won’t put up with their shrill antics. You’re much too good for that.

I hope each and every one of you will consider taking actions such as the one that I have suggested above. And by all means, please don’t stop praying for our country. All gifts come from our Heavenly Father. Without him, none of us are capable of anything.

Those of us who keep up with the news and watch the twenty-four news channels are surely familiar with the story of Cliven Bundy, a Nevada cattle rancher. In 1993, grazing rules were changed in the Gold Butte area whereby ranchers had to limit the grazing of their cattle in the Golden Butte area because of the endangered desert tortoise. After years of repeated violations of multiple court orders, in early April 2014, the Bureau of Land Management began seizing Bundy’s cattle that were grazing on what the BLM said was federal land. In seizing the cattle, the members of the BLM were armed with assault rifles and drove Hummers. Also, there were many who came out in support of Mr. Bundy, some of them packing heat. Then ensuing standoff ended when the BLM backed down and returned the surviving cattle (some had died) to Bundy.

According to various news reports, the Bundy family’s cattle had been grazing on these lands they were homesteading since the 1870s. He now owes the government more than one million dollars in grazing fees. Mr. Bundy has taken matters to court and lost each time. Of course, the left has demonized Mr. Bundy and Nevada Senator and Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid has called all of those supporting him domestic terrorists.

An issue in Texas is being reported from various media outlets regarding thousands of acres on the Texas side of the Red River, the border between Texas and Oklahoma. Officials have raised concerns that the BLM might be looking at reclaiming 90,000 acres as part of public domain. The BLM argues that any land in question was deemed to be public property as far back as 1986.On Monday, April 21, 2014; brietbart.com reported that a Texas landowner lost 140 acres to the BLM in that case. On Fox News, it has been indicated that much of this land is private property where the owners have deeds and are paying property taxes.

Cliven Bundy has defied the law and I’m not about to give him a pass on that. Now, it has come to pass that Bundy has said made some controversial comments regarding race. For his comments, he is sure to be castigated by both the left and the right.

I’m not going into the details on the above two stories because you can read them on your own, plus the point that I am trying to make with this post is not about the low level issues, it’s about the current culture in the United States of America. No matter which side of the aisle you consider yourself on, you should be following these stories.

According to the law, Cliven Bundy owes the government money. He’s been to court time after time and lost. He’s not violent, and although many on the left are calling him a thief, he’s not going to rob a bank or a local convenience store. Is he a racist? I don’t know because the definition of racism changes constantly to what those on the left want it to be. What should be done to someone who is determined to be a racist? I don’t know the answer to that either. Again, it’s not nice to be a racist, but there are probably some folks that feel a person who is a proven racist should die a slow painful death.

However, in seeking restitution, the federal government saw fit to seize his cattle and confront him and his supporters with firearms. When someone owes the government money, the government always collects, but generally goes about it with liens, garnishments, etc. Not with armored vehicles and guns. Government officials threatening non-violent citizens with guns shouldn’t happen in the United States of America and therefore, we should all be concerned.

Why were there so many folks supporting Cliven Bundy, a lawbreaker, when the Feds were threatening him? In my honest opinion, the American citizenry is so fed up with an over-reaching federal government. So much so, that they are ready to fight governmental actions, perhaps without contemplating the facts. The government is bloated, and the current president is acting like a king or a dictator forcing his left wing socialist agenda upon us with his phone and his pen.

With the power of the pen, could these so-called land-grabbing actions become commonplace? When the current president indicated that his goal was to fundamentally change America, chills ran up and down my spine. While I didn’t have the opportunity to ask him to define “fundamentally change,” I had a feeling that what he had in mind would be sinister. Sure, some things about this country needed some improvement, but fundamentally change? I don’t think so.

Since this president took office, the federal government has done the following:

  • Doubled the national debt.
  • Nationalized one-sixth of the nation’s economy.
  • Substantially increased the number of people receiving government assistance.
  • Has pretty much guaranteed that middle class Americans will have to pay more for health insurance and will receive sub-standard care.
  • Has imposed draconian regulations on businesses, forcing them to lay people off, freeze the hiring of new workers, and perhaps go out of business entirely.
  • Killed the work ethic of the American people.
  • Instigated class warfare.

What’s going to happen to our country? What’s going to happen to me? Right now, I don’t know. But one thing’s for sure, we’re losing the United States of America. The current president has become a dictator because the people are letting him become a dictator. With the exception of a very few media outlets, no one in the fourth estate is holding the federal government accountable for its actions. When you criticize this president and attempt to point out his misguided ways, you’re called a racist. And in this, the second decade of the twenty-first century, being labeled a racist is about the worst thing you can be labeled. Why, it seems as though, being labeled a racist is worse than being a child molester, a murderer, a sex offender, a thief, and a traitor.

Can things be reversed? You might say that, if later this year, the republicans take back the Senate, the current president will be rendered impotent. But remember, he has his pen and his phone and doesn’t hesitate to force his agenda on the American people via executive orders. The media will not hold him accountable, and those that try to stop him are labeled racists. It sure looks hopeless for the United States of America, doesn’t it? But, we are the United States of America, an exceptional nation, no matter what the current dictator in chief says. We’re odds beaters and hard workers. Also, we are one nation under God. I think we’ll eventually take our country back, I really do.
