THE BLAME AMERICA FIRST CROWD IS ALIVE AND WELL

The following meme by a group entitled “The Other 98 Percent,”  obvious blame America First liberals has been making the rounds on Facebook.

When people say, “let’s make America great again,” what period of American history are they talking about? When we were a British colony with unfair taxes? When we enacted a genocide to seize control of land? When we hung women because we thought they were witches? When we practiced slavery? When women and minorities couldn’t vote? When we ignored the Holocaust? When we dropped two atomic bombs on Japan? When we interned Japanese-American citizens in camps? When we sent thousands of our men to Vietnam to fight and die under false pretenses? Or when we did the same in Iraq 12 years ago and are still doing today? What kind of America do you foresee us returning to when you say that exactly?

When I saw it on my news feed, I responded with today’s problems as follows:

First of all, our economy/GDP is only growing at a rate of 2%. High taxes, draconian regulations, skyrocketing health care costs, an out of control national debt, etc. are to blame. Lowering taxes for everyone, lifting burdensome regulations, and repealing Obamacare will go a long way in growing our economy, creating jobs, and paying off the national debt.

Illegal immigrants, including thousands of Muslims whose intent is to kill Americans, are pouring into this country. This has got to stop.

Our foreign policy is a joke. We’ve turned our backs on our allies, including our biggest ally in the Middle East, Israel. We’re now making nice with radical Muslims and Communist dictators. We entered into a nuclear agreement with Iran, the number one state sponsor of terrorism. Iran is already defying that agreement and plans to build nuclear weapons to use on us. ISIS and other terrorist organizations are growing by leaps and bounds. And while Islamic terrorism is the number one threat to this country, the current president won’t even say the words, “Islamic terrorism.”

When a deranged individual who breaks into a church and shoots innocent people is seen in a photograph on social media with a confederate flag, this administration including the current president indicates that anyone who displays or owns a confederate flag is a hater, racist, etc. However, this current president continually lectures the American people to not judge all Muslims by the actions of a few.

Even though the terrorist attack/shooting in San Bernardino was carried out by Muslims who had acquired their guns illegally, this administration chooses to advocate stricter gun control laws instead of going after ISIS and other Islamic terrorist organizations.

Political correctness has run amok, and race relations are at one of their lowest points since Civil Rights legislation was passed in the sixties. It is my hope that the next president will act on all of the things I’ve illustrated above plus others. Since its inception almost 250 years ago, America has seen its good times and its bad times. Furthermore, that has not been one day in the history of this country where things were perfect and there won’t be such a day until Jesus returns to earth and sets up his kingdom for 1000 years. While I think back fondly to the 80s, 90s (even though I despise Bill Clinton), and early 2,000s, I don’t want to go back there. Even if the presidential candidate I’m supporting does get elected, I’m not going to get everything I want. No one is. This country is presently in the worst shape that it’s ever been in my lifetime. I just hope it’s not too late to turn things around.

**********

“The Other 98 percent” is obviously part of the blame America first crowd. As you can see, he or she cites the following things wrong with America

  • Unfair taxes when we were a British Colony
  • Enacting genocide to seize control of land
  • Hanging women who were thought to be witches
  • Slavery
  • Not allowing women and minorities to vote
  • Ignoring the holocaust
  • Dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
  • Rounding up Japanese Americans and placing them in camps
  • Sending thousands to Viet Nam to fight under false pretenses
  • Sending thousands to Iraq to fight under false pretenses

Unfair taxes when we were still under British rule? Duh! For the second point, I’m sure “Other 98” is referring to the “white guys” taking away the Indians’ land. If the “white guys” had not come to America, none of us would be in America. Furthermore, we’d probably be living in an oppressed society. The witch trials and hangings were put to a stop. Slavery ended. Women and minorities were given the right to vote. Not recognizing the holocaust was a mistake, but just who was it that invaded France, took that country back and liberated Europe? Dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki won the war, a war that we didn’t start. Even though we didn’t have a clearly defined purpose in Viet Nam, we were fighting the spread of communism. It was the liberals in Congress who defunded the war, a war we could have won. One of the platforms of the Clinton administration when President Bill Clinton left office was regime change in Iraq. All intelligence available to both Congress and the administration indicated that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. President Bush went to Congress for approval and many Democrats including Hillary Clinton and John Kerry voted to go to war.

It’s funny how “Other 98” cites the above, but fails to mention that the United States liberated France and other European countries from Nazi rule in World War II. “Other 98” also never mentions the billions of dollars in aid that the United States gives to foreign countries. Nor is the liberation of Kuwait from Sadaam Hussein. Furthermore, the Americans captured Sadaam Hussein and subsequently executed him for war crimes. He was considered the Adolph Hitler of the late 20th/early 21st century. The Americans also captured Osama Bin Laden, the master mind of the 9/11 attacks.

Among the many things that sets the United States of America apart from the rest, is that we willingly right our wrongs and have systems in place by which we can right our wrongs.

We ended slavery and instituted Civil Rights legislation. Women and minorities were given the right to vote. In the United States of America, people are given the freedom to experience the American dream. Americans also have the right to practice their chosen religion or to not practice any religion. While this nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, its citizens are free to worship as they please or not worship at all.

“Other 98” is obviously an Obama supporter, and is attempting to diminish the problems our nation is facing as a result of this far left administration by feebly pointing out a few of America’s dark hours. It’s not going to work.

SURELY, YOU’VE LEARNED BY NOW

In addition to being a political blogger, I’m also the owner, designer, and administrator of an Alabama Crimson Tide sports website, http://www.bamareport.com. With Alabama playing its cross-state rival this past Saturday, November 28, 2015, I’ve been extremely busy with keeping that site up to date. There’s competition, you know, and I have to be more on top of things than my competitors.

So, when the Planned Parenthood shooting happened in Colorado Springs, Colorado, I thought, oh no. The liberals are going to have a field day with this. And sure enough, they began denigrating Republicans and Christians because they were sure that the suspect, Robert Dear, was a conservative/anti-abortion zealot. One post by a liberal that appeared on my Facebook newsfeed indicated that conservative Christians were nothing but terrorists and as dangerous as Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Then they came out with the rhetoric that none of the Syrian refugees had committed a mass shooting, but a Christian had. This all came out within hours of the shooting before anyone knew the facts. Of course, liberals don’t care about facts. If there’s an opportunity to smear conservatives, Christians, etc. they’re going to go after it with gusto.

Meanwhile, here in the southeast, we’re hearing rumors of head football coaches at certain universities being fired because the team they coach had lost three games this season. As of this writing, LSU Coach Les Miles has been retained, but University of Georgia head football coach, Mark Richt, is out. Coach Miles lost three games in a row before winning this past weekend against Texas A&M. Georgia also lost three games before beating its in-state rival, Georgia Tech this past Saturday. For both LSU and Georgia, one of their losses was to Alabama.

Of course, I’m prejudice, since I attended and graduated from the University of Alabama. But no one can deny the fact that they are good, perhaps the best team in the nation. If Alabama is on your schedule, you’re most likely going to have at least one loss. Now, Alabama can be beat. But you have to play your best game of the season and hope that Alabama is having an “off day.” Even if the “perfect storm” comes together, the game is going to go down to the wire. Beating Alabama is not easy and more than likely, you’re not going to beat Alabama.

I’ve had to listen to coaches, players, fans, etc. from opposing teams say how they’re going to manhandle Alabama, how Alabama doesn’t have good players and coaches, etc. Well, I think this year, Georgia and LSU had to be the worst offenders. With Alabama coming off a loss to Ole Miss, Georgia was so sure that they could take Alabama at their home stadium, Sanford Stadium. We know how that worked out. LSU was no different. They were so sure they could come into Tuscaloosa and take Alabama. Again, we know how that worked out.

The point I’m trying to make is that teams that play Alabama need to learn that they’re probably going to lose, except under certain conditions. Not that teams should chalk up Alabama as a loss, but they should be aware that Alabama currently has a great team. No coach should be fired or put on the hot seat because his team couldn’t beat Alabama. Opposing teams should look at Alabama in proper perspective and not just assume that they can take Alabama. When will they ever learn?

It’s the same with liberals. So many times they jump to conclusions without waiting for the facts to come out. They blame conservatives, George W. Bush, Fox News, Christians, the Confederate flag, etc. and most of the time they end up having egg on their face. But seeing that liberals care nothing about facts or the truth, they just go on with their rhetoric. Even though they are wrong, maybe there will be enough low information voters who blindly get their news from the major networks and think that taxing the rich and punishing corporations with high taxes and burdensome regulations will cause the middle class to prosper.

According to npr.org, hardly a conservative outfit, the Planned Parenthood shooter was not affiliated with any political party, and while he appeared to be conservative, he wasn’t a talker of politics. Liberals are going to do everything they can with this tragedy to insure that conservative Christians get a black eye, further turning Americans against conservative Christians.

Once again, instead of promoting their big government, totalitarian policies and making sound arguments with respect to how these policies are best for America, they content to beseech conservatives, George W. Bush, Fox News, Christians, etc. They will continue to be embarrassed, but what do liberals care? They don’t care about the truth or about facts. They certainly don’t care about low income and middle class individuals.

To you liberals, I wouldn’t be so quick to want to do away with white conservative Christians, especially southern white conservative Christians. Without us, you will have no one group to disparage. All the other groups are protected. When will you ever learn?

GROW UP, WHY DON’T YA!

According to an article on breitbart.com dated November 27, 2014, University of Massachusetts students who were upset by an image of a Confederate flag sticker on another student’s laptop were offered counseling services at Framingham State University. The offer came after the university’s chief diversity and inclusion officer, Sean Huddleston, described the display of the small Confederate flag sticker as a “bias incident.”

According to Metrowest Daily News, students filed two “bias reports” within the past month as a result of a student displaying the flag in some way. The most recent bias incident, reported on November 19, was a report of a student having seen a Confederate flag sticker on another student’s laptop. In an email to students, Huddleston did not declare a ban on displaying the flag, but claimed that it upsets some students.

Huddleston said the Confederate flag and other symbols are not condoned by Framingham State University, as they violate the core values of our institution and not considered consistent with our desire to maintain a safe, respectful and welcoming campus community for all. The primary goal continues to be to expeditiously address and resolve incidents of bias that impede our progress toward a welcoming and inclusive campus community.

Huddleston further described “bias incidents” as situations that may not rise to the level of a criminal act, but still clearly communicate offensive or derogatory behaviors.

The article goes on to state that observing that students on campus in general may have suffered a traumatic reaction from seeing an image of the Confederate flag, Huddleston continued, “We recognize that bias incidents are upsetting for the entire campus community, but especially for the targets and witnesses of these incidents. Therefore, Huddleston is encouraging students who may have been traumatized by these incidents seek counseling.

Huddleston then indicated that the university may hold a campus-wide form on the history of the Confederate flag, so that students can discuss the reasons why they either defend or reject it.

This is about the most ridiculous thing that I have every read. If a small sticker on someone’s laptop traumatizes you to the point that you have to seek counseling, my feelings are that you should be put away forever in a mental institution and never be allowed out in public. I’m serious.

It looks like our college campuses are turning into safe places for spoiled whiny babies. And these are the folks that are going to be taking care of me when I go to the nursing home. With my current health problem and our wrecked healthcare system, I’ll probably die early and won’t have to go to a nursing home and be subjected to these imbeciles.

So, it looks like liberals are advocating making life perfect for everyone once they come out of the womb. There will be no bullying. Plus diversity and inclusion will make every child feel welcome at all times, so that child won’t have to suffer the trauma the children have had to suffer in the past for various reasons.

I think everyone who has gone from an academic environment to a working environment will tell you that they underwent a rude awakening when they got to the real world. The real world is not always pretty. However, I shudder to think how going to the real world is going to affect these whiny babies who had to go to counseling because they saw a Confederate flag sticker on someone’s laptop. How are they going to handle that first difficult customer or client? How are they going to handle a difficult boss? How are they going to handle the criticism that comes on a performance evaluation? Will companies start having to set up trauma departments where a distraught employee can go to get counseling whenever something unpleasant happens to them on the job?

Most of us who have had to go through employee evaluations know that there is always something negative on them. It’s just standard custom and practice. What’s going to happen to the whiny babies when they get their first employee evaluation and it says that they need to be more courteous to lower level employees? The rest of the evaluation may be glowing, but that one little negative item may send them into deep depression. I guess the government will have to pass a regulation on employee evaluations that nothing negative about an employee can be put on an evaluation. And how is this going to help the little whiny baby? It won’t help the little whiny baby one damn bit. In fact it will, in the long run, hurt the little whiny baby because the little whiny baby will have no chance to develop as an employee and as a person.

I’m getting so tired of the words diversity and inclusion. How many of us have been to social gatherings where it seemed like everyone knew everyone and you didn’t know anybody? It’s tough and you sometimes feel awkward. But an experience like that will sometimes force you to be more assertive by walking up to people, introducing yourself and starting a conversation. Also, how many of us have been to dinner or to an event with friends and the friends worked together or their occupations were similar? The friends had their own little conversation going and you were left out. It happens and you have to grin and bear it. I guess when that happens to the little whiny babies, they’ll be so traumatized they will have to seek counseling. I guess the government will have to establish the “Inclusion Police.” That way no little whiny baby has to sit and be silent for twenty or thirty minutes.

It seems like liberals, after having attempted and being somewhat successful in taking God out of our society, are trying to establish heaven here on earth. And when it can’t possibly happen, they blame George W. Bush, Fox News, and conservatives.

GUN CONTROL LAWS

Every time there is an incident of gun violence in this nation, especially when the incident involves a white shooter, shooting blacks, the current President of the United States weighs in on the matter and indicates the need for more gun control laws. Surprise, Mr. President! We have Federal Firearms Laws. Also, each state has their own set of gun control laws. Of course, the President’s followers/worshippers holler out, “More gun control, more gun control.”

While I can’t possibly summarize the Federal gun control laws, I’ll briefly highlight a few of them in the following paragraphs.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed (the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution).

In 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court held in District of Columbia v. Heller that the Second Amendment prohibits the Federal government from passing laws prohibiting an individual’s right to possess a hand gun in the home and requiring any firearms in the home to be inoperable during possession.

In 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court held in McDonald v. Chicago, that the Second Amendment through the Fourteenth Amendment also prohibits States and political subdivisions from prohibiting an individual’s right to possess a hand gun in the house, but as in Heller, state laws may restrict the possession of firearms by felons, etc.

This section goes on the Define a firearm.

A person is entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from one state where his firearms’ possession is legal to another state where his firearms’ possession is legal. The firearms may not be seized by the local police if: The firearm the firearm is unloaded and the firearm or any ammo being transported is readily or directly accessible from the passenger compartment. In the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver’s compartment, the firearm and ammo shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console.

Long Gun Possession (rifle or shotgun): a person of any age may possess a long gun.

Hand Gun Possession: A person under 18 years of age may not possess a handgun or handgun only ammo.

A person may not purchase a handgun from a licensed gun dealer whose premises are located in a state where the buyer does not reside. It is a felony violation to knowingly make a false statement or show false identification to a licensed gun dealer. A potential purchaser must state of Form 4473 his name, address, date of birth, place of birth, height, weight, gender, race, prohibited person status and sign it.

The licensed gun dealer must notify the FBI or state authorities of the purchaser’s identification so a criminal background check can be completed before the firearm is transferred.

Indictment or information for a felony: Such a person has restrictions paced on his firearms activity. He may continue to lawfully possess the firearms and ammunition he already has, but may not ship or take them across state lines and may not acquire more firearms or ammunition affecting interstate commerce.

The above showcases very few of our Federal gun laws. To thoroughly review Federal gun law, you can visit: http://www.fedcoplaw.com/html/federal_firearms_laws.html.

On top of the Federal gun laws, each state has its own set of gun laws. The following will summarize the gun laws for the state of Alabama, my state.

With some exceptions, the open carry of firearms is lawful. It is unlawful to carry a concealed pistol, firearm, or air gun without a permit. It is unlawful for a person to carry a pistol concealed about his person on premises not his own or under his control. It is unlawful to carry a rifle or shotgun walking cane.

No state permit is required to possess a rifle, shotgun, or handgun. It is unlawful for a drug addict, habitual drunkard, or one who has been convicted of a crime of violence to own or possess a handgun. Law enforcement authorities have advised that minors cannot carry or possess a handgun.

It is unlawful to sell, give, lend or deliver a handgun to any person under 18, or to a person whom the seller has reasonable cause to believe has been convicted of a crime of violence, is a drug addict, a habitual drunkard, or of unsound mind.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has signed comprehensive pro-gun legislation. As of May 26, 2015, the Alabama State Senate passed a bill that would allow gun owners to carry and transport loaded handguns in their vehicle without a concealed carry permit.

The following will summarize the gun laws for the state of Illinois. It is unlawful to carry or possess any firearm in any vehicle or concealed on or about the person, except on one’s land or in one’s abode or fixed place of business, without a license. It is unlawful to possess any firearm or ammunition without a valid FOID (Firearms Owner’s Identification Card).A buyer is required to show his FOID when purchasing any firearms or ammunition. The seller must retain for 10 years, a record of the transfer, including a description of the firearm, the identity of the buyer, and the buyer’s FOID number. It is unlawful to sell, manufacture, purchase, possess or carry any weapon from which more than one shat may be discharged by a single function of the trigger, including the frame or receiver of any such weapon.

As one can readily see, gun laws are substantially stricter in Illinois when compared to Alabama. In the city of Chicago, Illinois, guns are illegal and Chicago has some of the worst gun violence cases in the United States.

Whenever a shooting takes place such as the recent shooting in Charleston, S.C. of nine church members inside the Emanuel AME Church, liberals always blame guns and demand more gun control laws. Well, in Charleston, liberals also blamed the Confederate flag for that shooting. Last week, I was one of two or maybe three conservatives involved in a Facebook discussion on gun control where a liberal FB friend of a liberal FB friend posted a photo denigrating what they say is record profits by gun manufacturers. It’s certainly understandable why gun manufacturers are making record profits.

People want to get their guns while they still can. The liberals seemed to think that there were no gun control laws in the United States with the reason being that the current president has been blocked from instituting meaningful gun control legislation because the Republican-majority Congress will not pass gun control laws.

It’s really amazing what liberals say, isn’t it?

Thanks to nraila.org for the information about state gun control laws and to fedcoplaw.com for the information about Federal gun control legislation.

REASONABLE DISCUSSIONS WITH LIBERALS – HOW OXYMORONIC IS THAT?

Conservative Icon, Ann Coulter, has written many books about liberals. One of them is entitled, “How to Talk to a Liberal if You Must.” It was released in 2004 and I can’t remember for the life of me if I’ve read it, and trying to find it in my vast book collection is not on my current list of things to do.

Every boss I’ve ever had has told me that I lacked self-confidence and I do. One even said that he had more confidence in me than I had in me. I also have a tendency to let people take advantage of me or “roll over me.” The lack of self-confidence dates back to my early childhood years. Letting people “roll over me” or take advantage of me comes from being an only child. Not having siblings, I never learned the skill of taking up for myself.

Lacking self-confidence and letting others take advantage of me does not a political blogger/pundit make. I don’t blame family and friends who I grew up around for my short comings. It is what it is and I just have to try a little harder.

The first time I was attacked by a liberal after setting myself out as a political blogger, I was very upset. I realized, though, that as long as I put my feelings and opinions out there, I would be subject to more attacks. Could I stand the heat or did I need to get out of the kitchen. Now, over a year and a half later, I’m still blogging, but do have to remind myself that my stand on the issues is solid and liberal stands on the issues can be refuted.

Liberals think they’re so smart. In fact, most educators/academicians are liberal. That includes your elementary school teachers all the way up to those with doctorates who occupy the ivory towers of institutions of higher education.

Since becoming a political blogger and a utilizer of social media, I have had encounters with numerous liberals. If they’re so smart and so much better than us unenlightened oafs, how come they can’t read something and understand its meaning. I often post something, only to have a liberal make comments that are unrelated to the subject of the post. Sometimes I will have to ask them to go back and re-read what I said.

Liberals also love to accuse conservatives/Republicans of hating minorities and the poor. I can and do regularly deep-six those accusations. It isn’t hard to do.

I’ve also had experiences where I wasn’t discussing politics at all, only to have a liberal inject themselves in a conversation because he or she heard some kind of buzzword or phrase that they didn’t like. When this happens, I never fail to point out that the conversation or thread had nothing to do with a political concept. This is again, an example of liberals not being able to comprehend what is written or said.

Talk about short memories; “liberals, they got em.” On June 17, 2015, a lone gunman who was a known racist and had been pictured in a photo holding up a Confederate battle flag, shot and killed nine black members of a Charleston, South Carolina church. All of a sudden the responsibility for the shooting did not lie with a deranged young man, the responsibility, instead, was the fault of the Confederate flag. Liberals, in their ever continuing rush to judgment, started demanding that Confederate flags cease flying over government buildings. Of course, removing a few flags from a few southern state capitals was not going to satisfy them. They began attacking statutes of military men who fought valiantly for the South. Then, the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP demanded that the historic carving on Stone Mountain, just outside of Atlanta, showcasing Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson be sanded away. That struck a nerve with me and apparently it stuck a nerve with a lot of people.

The City of Birmingham has voted to remove a monument honoring Confederate soldiers and sailors who died during the Civil War.

On Monday, July 15, 2015, nine Alabama state senators introduced a bill at the beginning of a special legislative session that is designed to protect monuments on publicly owned property. The bill would outlaw the removal or relation of any statute or monument on public property honoring individuals or groups which participated in seventeen different military campaigns. Any group that wants to be exempt from the law would have to get permission from the Alabama Historical Commission. So, the state of Alabama is scrambling to keep the Feds and their wrecking balls from descending upon us and destroying history. I don’t know if other southern states are following suit. This is all well and good, but with the way the current dictator is taking us, those wrecking balls may be headed this way and states’ rights and the U.S. Constitution be damned.

Now, an alleged Islamic terrorist has killed five Marines in Chattanooga and I’ve heard very little talk regarding whether or not we should get rid of all symbols and statutes relating to Islam. Liberals who claim to be fair-minded and caring aren’t saying a word. While both liberals and conservatives lamented the shooting of the nine Charlestonians, I haven’t seen one liberal condemn the shooting. Instead, they are playing a waiting game to see how the investigation plays out. They didn’t do this in the shooting of Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri, nor did they do this in the death of Freddie Gray of Baltimore.

The current President has often lectured the American people, stating that we should not judge the religion of Islam by the acts of a few, but I haven’t heard him say anything about not judging southerners by the actions of one who was obviously deranged.

Could liberalism be a pre-cursor to Alzheimer’s? Ann’s book was published in 2004. Maybe I should read it or re-read it.
