I had better get busy with this article because even though it’s still the morning after, it’s getting close to being the “afternoon after.” I certainly didn’t expect Donald Trump to win the presidency. From all accounts and media outlets, including Fox News, Mr. Trump’s chances of winning were estimated to be slim to even none. He was drug through the mud like no political candidate had ever been. Some Democrats, including First Lady, Michelle Obama, were expressing utter shock at what he was overheard saying on the Access Hollywood tape, even though fowl-mouthed rapper Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé are included among those in the Obama inner circle.

In the short time I’ve been at my desk and perused social media, I have seen so much vitriol and hatred coming from Democrats directed at Donald Trump and his supporters. I’m also seeing some Democrats express disbelief that their gal, Hillary lost. “Oh, but she’s the smartest, most caring woman in the world.” Get real, she screws up everything she touches. Hey, Democrats, not everyone agrees with you. Here’s a list of things, not in any particular order.

  • Not everyone thinks government is all powerful, all loving, and always perfect. Some of us believe that the private sector does a lot of things much better than government and should be left to do so. That was one of the principles on which this country was founded, and many of us believe in this 240-year-old principle.
  • Not everyone thinks that it’s okay to kill the unborn just because carrying that child to term is inconvenient for the mother. Science has proven that upon conception that fertilized egg takes on human characteristics such as brain and heart activity.
  • Many of us respect the armed forces and feel that a strong military is necessary to the well-being of our nation and the safety of our citizens.
  • There are those of us who respect our nation’s local law enforcement. And while there are certainly “bad cops” out there, most our policemen and women are fine people who deserve our respect as they work from day to day to protect us from criminal activity and assist us when necessary.
  • We live in the last half of the second decade of the twenty-first century. Slavery ended in 1865 and additional civil rights legislation was pass over a half-century ago. While racism exists and continues to exist until Christ returns and sets up his 1000 year reign here on earth, most of us believe in and have worked to established equal opportunity, but realize that with equal opportunity, we cannot guarantee equal outcome.
  • Most of us believe that we have the right to exercise our freedom of speech, especially when it comes to holding our government officials accountable; and don’t like the way you have many hurled the “racist” accusation at those who have disagreed with the policies of the first black president, Barak Obama. You have also come up with the ridiculous notions that the American flag is racist, and that chanting “USA” is racist. It seems that whenever you can’t decide on what to call those with whom you disagree, you, with reckless abandon, just hurl the term racist. In fact, you make up the definition of racism to suit your needs of the moment. Again, many of us just don’t like that.
  • Many of us question the existence of man-made climate change, and there are many articles written by respected scientists who have refuted this theory. However, Democrats have consistently hurled insults and called those who didn’t agree with them unflattering names. Again, not everyone agrees with you on this issue and many of us were fearful of the ridiculous regulations that were being crammed down our throats in the name of climate change.
  • Many of us don’t agree with you in your efforts to soak the rich and screw over businesses. These are the entities who issue our paychecks. When our employers prosper, we, the middle class, tend to do better.
  • Most of us don’t want government-run healthcare. We warned if the dangers when the ACA was being crammed down our throats using every legislative trick in the book. Our nation’s healthcare system is a mess. Democrats this is your fault. You own it; lock, stock, and barrel. Now it looks like it will be up to the Republicans and the Trump administration to fix it. Thanks a lot, Dems!
  • Most of us want to win the war on Islamic terrorism and believe we need to define the problem in order to solve it. We believe that ISIS is the twenty-first century Third Reich and must be destroyed, and never allowed in this country.
  • Immigration: You Democrats have never acknowledged that there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration. When someone says they’re against illegal immigration, you make no distinction between legal and illegal and hurl the xenophobia accusation. We want illegal immigration diminished and feel that a wall on the Mexican border will go a long ways in solving this problem.
  • A lot of us would like to be able to defend ourselves from an attacker either before or after the police are called. We’d rather not have the police come, tag our dead bodies, and call the morgue to come and get us.
  • Most of us want to maintain Israel as a trusted ally. If fact, it’s necessary. God has indicated that he will punish those who turn their backs on Israel.

The above outlines many of the areas where the two major political parties disagree, and as I’ve been saying all along, liberals, Democrats, progressives, or whatever it is they want to call themselves these days can’t seem to believe that anyone could possibly have different view. And if they have different views, they’re stupid and evil. Furthermore, Democrats don’t appear to believe in free speech unless they agree with the speech.

I’ve been called a sore winner this morning, and that’s probably right. I want to lash out. I want to do the same things to Democrats that they did to me eight years ago and have continued to do to me and other conservatives since then. I’m a flawed individual, but grateful that those flaws have been paid for.

As a believer in Jesus Christ and a follower of his teachings, I am instructed to follow him, pure and simple. I’m not to concern myself with why my life is not perfect, yet there are so many in this world who appear to have perfect lives. Even though I have so much love to give, I’m not to concern myself with the fact that, to date, I haven’t married, nor bore children. I’m to follow him and know that he is in control. Furthermore, God never promised any of us a perfect life. In fact, quite the opposite. We will have struggles in life, but are comforted to know that God is in control.

I have friends and acquaintances who appear to have a blessed life, surrounded by many loving family members and wonder why I’m alone. I have friends who have never had a problem controlling their weight and wonder why I struggle constantly. Yada, yada, yada…you get my drift.

This planet is not a perfect place and won’t be until Jesus returns and sets up his thousand year reign here on earth. And while we should always strive to be the best we can be and never accept imperfection as the norm, we know true perfection cannot be achieved until Jesus returns.

Every day, though, especially since the current President of the United States took office, we see liberals, on the surface, at least, attempting to provide ultimate perfection in our lives. Sadly, they have made things worse.

Let’s begin with everyone’s favorite, healthcare. In railroading the ACA through Congress and making it the law of the land, this administration has wreaked more havoc on the American people that any other administration. Americans are being forced to purchase health insurance against their will. For those who are able to purchase health insurance, premiums have sky-rocketed and the quality of healthcare is decreasing. Many have been unable to keep their doctors and have deductibles so high that they would suffer financially if they incurred a health catastrophe. Yet liberals, told us to focus on the fact that everyone would have access to health care. Moon bat Pelosi even encouraged us to quit our jobs that we hated and “write that great American novel, follow your dreams.” We wouldn’t have to worry about healthcare. I could write a short story on this and will one of these days, but not today.

After foisting an extremely flawed ACA down our throats and shedding tears because now all those poor souls who didn’t have access to healthcare would not have it, it looks as though liberals are realizing that it’s not working. Now they’re telling us that we’ll get used to it, the high premiums and the lesser quality.

So, were they really wanting to make things perfect for us in the U.S.A. or were they just wanting to take control over 1/6 of this nation’s economy and exert additional power over our day to day lives. I’ll take the latter.

Currently, the current president and his liberal henchmen are advocating that companies, provide paid family leave for their employees. Also, anyone who is against a government mandate for paid family leave, according to liberals, is evil. Of course, I’m a conservative, and I think paid family leave would be a great benefit for companies to provide for their employees and think it should be encouraged. What I’m against is a government mandate for paid family leave.

The Family Leave Act passed by the Clinton administration in the nineties, requires companies to provide family leave to their employees, but it’s unpaid. Twenty years later, I still have yet to find anyone who has used Clinton’s Family Leave. Most workers will use the paid time allowed that their companies provide them, so they won’t lose pay. For me personally, using Clinton’s Family Leave would be a last resort.

Should the liberals get their way, companies, especially small businesses are going to be hit hard. And what’s this going to mean for employees? We all know the answer to this. Possible layoffs, a decrease in raises and other benefits, etc. Also, this would surely result in an increase in the price of goods and services a company provides.

But liberals seems to think that government mandated family leave is another panacea in their quest to make our lives perfect. And again, “be aware of Greek’s bearing gifts.” Liberals, including the current administration, do not care about you. All they care about is taking control over as many aspects of your lives as possible.

With liberals, step by step, attempting to take God out of our lives and foist all their government programs upon us under the ruse of making our lives perfect, are they trying to establish “heaven on earth?” Well, it’s not going to happen.

The term, socialism, has been much bantered around since Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders became a candidate for president of the United States. According to dictionary.com, socialism is defined as a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole. Dictionary.com also states that socialism is the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

Senator Bernie Sanders’ party affiliation is listed as “Independent,” and he claims to be a Democrat socialist. He caucuses with the Democrats on Capitol Hill.

When I graduated from college, I was an obnoxious brat who thought I knew everything and I wanted everything right then. My mother tried to explain to me that I needed to start at the bottom, get my foot in the door, and work my way up. Do any of you want to take a guess as to who was right? I was a pill to deal with and sort of hate myself to this day for it.

The United States of America was founded on the principles of hard work and dedication. Every person in America would have the chance to succeed at his or her own level. If you desire to be the CEO of a large corporation with the corner office with a view, you would have the opportunity to make that happen. If your desire was to lead a simpler life, you were very much free to pursue that. Unfortunately, achievement of your goals is not guaranteed. In your pursuit of the corner office with a view, things can happen that prevent you from getting there. You may have to settle for a small office on the third floor with a view of the parking lot. Never-the-less, the opportunity is there. Furthermore, in the pursuit of your goals, you may be called upon to make difficult decisions that keep you from achieving your dreams. You may have to settle for less as a result of other factors in your life.

Having said all of the above, we all know that what’s worth having is worth working for. We most certainly appreciate those things that we have to work for. These things may include accumulating vacation days and sick days, a better than average health insurance plan, a nice automobile(s), a nice house, a vacation house(s), etc.

In campaigning, Bernie Sanders has promised free healthcare, free college tuition, paid family leave and other items that most of us are used to working for. To pay for all of this, he claims he can go after the billionaires in this nation and let them pay for all of the goodies he’s going to distribute to us. The health care will most certainly be a standardized, one size fits all. I’d rather choose my health plan according to what I can afford and what coverages I need. And I don’t want to have to purchase it through a government exchange. I want to handle it through the private sector.

As far as the free college tuition, what are the limitations going to be. Will students be able to choose where they attend college and the course of study they want to pursue? Or will the government direct this for the sake of social engineering? Will private colleges disappear? Will the funds distributed to the colleges by the government be enough to provide quality education to the students? We all know that Obamacare was not implemented so that those poor unfortunate souls who didn’t have health insurance could now have health insurance. It was implemented for the purpose of putting 1/6 of the economy under the government control. Liberals are already admitting this and telling those of us who were hurt by it that we’ll get used to it. According to Forbes, before the ACA was implemented, 17.87% of Americans were uninsured. Now that the ACA has been implemented, 14.22% of Americans are uninsured. This is a difference of 3.67 %. Worth destroying the best healthcare system on the planet? You tell me.

Back to socialism. The billionaires alone aren’t going to be able to pay for this and the implementation of these socialist programs is going to eliminate the billionaires. All classes will be taxed heavily. Sure, your education will be free, your healthcare will be free, and you will get a lot of paid time off from your job. But what are you going to do with all free time. Will you have any extra money left after the government takes its hefty share and you provide for your other basic needs to take a vacation and enjoy your time off? Will there be any room to stretch your wings and pursue your dreams? Also, what’s going to happen to small businesses?

One thing that particularly disturbed me during the Democrat debates was the promise that companies would be forced to share their profits with their employees. Many companies do this and I think that’s great. However, companies shouldn’t be forced into this. And what amount of profits is the government going to allow a company to keep? The above will surely result in fewer people willing to take chances because the government will squelch resultant prosperity. So why work your buns off and take risks if the government is just going to take it away from you in the form of taxes and re-distribution demands?

Socialism will punish achievement and put the screws to entrepreneurism. If you want to punish the billionaires, I guess socialism would be the way to do it. But what’s going to happen when we run out of other people’s money?

According to the Daily Signal in their article entitled, “The Fraud Factor of Obama’s New Climate Agenda,” the current president in his recent visit to Alaska, was seeking to scare up support for his climate agenda. In proving that man-made climate change does exist, the president sought to emphasize a major proponent of climate change: When the weather is warm, ice melts (that’s powerful stuff, y’all).

The current president even had a photo op in front of the retreating Exit Glacier. However, there is one little fact about the Exit Glacier. It started retreating more than 100 years before the start of significant man-made carbon dioxide emissions. Another interesting point to note is that the Climate Research Center at the University of Alaska shows that there has been no warming trend in Alaska since 1977. In fact, the trend is slightly negative.

The president is promoting an agenda whose most prominent part is the Clean Power Plant (CPP). But, the agenda and the CPP are based on three bits of fraud.

The first is the assertion that carbon dioxide is dirty. Carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless, and non-toxic gas. The president and his supporters keep referring to it as “carbon pollution.” The also assert that, until the CPP, there were no regulations on the amount of “carbon pollution” power plants could emit.

Carbon pollution does exist, but it is not carbon dioxide. The common name for carbon pollution is “soot,” and there have been regulatory limits on soot for decades. Due to these limits and the general improvement in technology, a modern coal-fired plant cuts soot emissions by more than 99 percent compared to plants without the new technology. In spite of the phenomenal increase in power production since the late 1970s, total air pollution has actually declined significantly.

Second, virtually all current extreme weather is blamed on global warming/climate change, with the inevitable prediction of worse to come. However, data from NOAA and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change contradict this fear-mongering. No trends in hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, or floods show. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we were warned by the global warming/climate change alarmists that we would be seeing numerous stronger hurricanes.

According to NPR, yes, NPR, no major hurricanes have hit the U.S. since 2005. Well, what about “Super Storm Sandy that caused major destruction in the northeast in 2012? Sandy was a Category 2 storm when it was hugging the northeastern coast. It was also a large hurricane. It swept through the most densely populated areas in the United States. Of course, since it was in the northeast, it got boatloads of media attention. If Sandy had made landfall in Mississippi, Alabama, or the Florida panhandle, it wouldn’t have received near the media attention it did, nor would it have reeked the devastation that it did.

On April 27, 2011, the state of Alabama witnessed the worst tornado outbreak since a 1930s outbreak. Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia were also hard hit. This was also caused by global warming/climate change and it was George Bush’s fault. Prognosticators indicated that outbreaks like the one of 4/27 were a taste of things to come. We’ve had some tornadoes since then in Dixie Alley and in the Midwest. This year, though, in the spring, Dixie Alley was quiet. November is secondary tornado season in Dixie Alley. We’ll have to see what November brings. The tornado outbreaks of 4/27/2011 plus the 1930s outbreak, and the outbreak of 1974, are generational. Again, there appears to be no evidence of increase in tornadoes and their intensity.

The third bit is that the CPP is a climate change policy. Using the EPA’s own climate model, climatologists at the Cato Institute calculated the impact of the CPP on world temperature. Results showed that by the end of this century, the CPPs maximum impact would reduce world temperature by 0.019 degrees, well within the margin of error. The projected impact on sea level rise is equally ridiculous, just 0.01 inches by 2100.

Furthermore, according to the Daily Signal’s article, the CPP’s climate benefit may be negligible and distant, but the CPP’s economic cost will be large and immediate. According to the Energy Information Administration, in the decade of the 2020s, lost GDP will total $1 trillion, and total employment will fall by as much as 500,000 jobs.

This should be so obvious to anyone with a breath of air left in them that the CPP is just another plan to grab power and money, your money. Just like the ACA? Absolutely.

Every time I hint that man-made climate change is a fraud, liberals come out of the woodwork indicating that there are so many more articles by scientists confirming man-made climate change than there are scientists who refute man-made climate change. It appears to me, though, more and more articles are being written refuting it.

If the liberals/progressives are the staunch supporters of middle and low income earners, you would think that they would be searching for facts that would support man-made climate change as not real. Instead, liberals/progressives desire to eliminate fossil fuels in favor of green energy sources. Fossil fuels provide inexpensive and reliable sources of energy which certainly benefits the middle and lower classes. To date, green energy has a long way to go. It’s expensive and not reliable.

The direction that liberals/progressives are taking us doesn’t make sense, unless they have a hidden agenda. And, of course, they do. As I said above, it’s to simply snatch up, from the private sector, as much as possible, and place it under the government umbrella. Thus just another power and money grab.

A liberal Facebook friend of mine shared a photo of Dr. Martin Luther King. The photo included one of his quotes, “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.

As this week of Labor Day came to an end, I couldn’t help but notice another disturbing trend among liberals. It seems that they have declared a “war on work.” I’ve stated all along that liberals/Democrats/progressives, or whatever they want to call themselves these days are not followers of Dr. Martin Luther King. Liberals judge people by the color of their skin and not by the content of their character. Now it appears that liberals are discouraging and making efforts to eliminate the work ethic of this nation, one of the things that made this nation great. Also, liberals are dead set on dividing us by race and turning race against race, in their quest to weaken the United States of America to the point that it no longer resembles the visions of our forefathers. Thus Dr. King’s vision of former slave owners and former slaves dining at the table of brotherhood together is something liberals apparently want to keep from happening.

After the ACA was passed, Nancy Pelosi suggested to the American people that they could quit their jobs and do what they’ve always wanted to do such as write that great American novel. With ACA, they wouldn’t have to worry about health insurance.

In the early part of 2014, an article was published on liberal rag, slate.com indicating that it was unfair that some folks had jobs they loved while others didn’t. Of course, liberals think that’s grossly unfair and denigrated the American work culture for allowing such a thing to happen. The author of the article also seemed to be advocating the distribution of work so that all Americans would be able to have that rewarding job, limiting the time that Americans would have to perform such loathsome tasks as sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, and pulling the feathers out of dead chickens, etc.

In March, the current president of the United States signed an executive order that directs the Department of Labor to require overtime pay for millions of Americans classified as executive or professional employees. This will further denigrate America’s once strong worth ethic and make achievement by those with a strong desire to achieve virtually impossible.

The anti-work advocates are also championing government ordered vacation time for those working in the private sector.

As I have indicated many times in my writings, more and more Americans have jettisoned the idea of individuals working hard to better their lifestyles and achieve their dreams. Now they want the government to handle all of that with mandatory overtime, mandatory vacation, mandatory paid holidays, etc. Of course, this is another overreach into the private sector in an effort to destroy our free market, capitalistic economy.

Hey liberals, has it every occurred to you that some folks actually like to work, actually enjoy the challenge, actually have a drive to succeed? It’s been my personal observation that most of the folks who actually like to work and work hard are Republicans. Not saying that Democrats don’t work hard. They do. But most of the Democrats I know who work hard constantly gripe about it.

I regularly visit liberal websites and it’s just amazing how many commenters to articles about work actually want to see work hours cut to 32 hours per week, and minimum wage raised to $15.00 per hour. I’m going to make a sweeping assumption and say that these people are not motivated people. They want to put in the least amount of work and get as much as they can for it. These are the takers in our society.

Of course, these folks point to certain European countries where everyone gets 6 weeks of vacation and only has to work 32 hours per week. If this is what you liberals want, why don’t’ you move there and leave those of us who believe in free enterprise and capitalism alone. In fact, I’d be willing to chip in a few bucks toward your one-way ticket. But if you decide you don’t like it over there because you can’t heat or cool your house as you would like to, you’re having to stay in a ward at the hospital, you don’t like that tin can of a car you’re having to drive with gas costing over $5.00 a gallon, or you’re having to flush the toilet two or three times; don’t expect me to help you fund a ticket back to the USA. You’re on your own.
