A VIEW OF THE SOUTH FROM OUTSIDERS

Southerners are Trained to be the Helpers, an article posted yesterday on al.com, authored by Leslie Anne Tarabella highlights the outside media’s, particularly the left-wing media’s surprise at how people are helping people in southeast Texas and Louisiana during and in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

According to this article, Norah O’Donnell, a CBS correspondent, originally from Texas, was not surprised by the overwhelming kindness being shown by the Texas people and even those living outside the state of Texas who are rushing up to help anyway they can. However, back in New York City, anchors were marveling at the willingness and bravery of people showing up to help total strangers.

I don’t know whether to be happy or frustrated about this article. It’s no secret that folks outside the south have consistently looked down their noses at the south, although, they don’t hesitate to visit down here to enjoy our food, our weather, and our many tourist attractions.

Liberals, both those from outside the south and from inside the south (we do have liberals down here), have made the south their “whipping boy.” We go to church, listen to country music, watch sports, particularly football, own guns, and vote Republican. While we’re everything the left hates, the left doesn’t hesitate to hurl unfounded accusations at us and direct it’s hate toward us.

Are the likes of Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brezinski, Don Lemmon, etc. appalled at what’s going on in southeast Texas and Louisiana. I’m convinced they are. But, but, but, aren’t those people conservatives, Republicans, aren’t they against same-sex marriage? They disliked Obama and put Donald Trump in office. They’re evil people, but here we see them helping each other with factors such as skin color and socio-economic status not on the radar. How can this be?

Houston isn’t the first place where folks have come together in troubled times. Tornado outbreaks are common down south. After one occurs, “men with chainsaws” appear from all over waiting anxiously to get at those fallen limbs. In fact, once in a while, guys with chainsaws have had to be turned away because there were already enough volunteers to get the job done.

As I write this, away from the disaster site, churches, municipalities, and other philanthropic organizations are gathering supplies to send to the devastated areas to help. In the months to come, many trips will be made to southeast Texas where volunteers will continue to work tirelessly to make a difference in people’s lives.

To the liberal media and to liberals, in general, what are you so surprised about? This is normal, this is way we do things down here. Race, religion, skin color, nationality, education level, etc. are non-factors, not even thought about during times like this. And yet, you continue to berate folks like us, folks who voted for President Trump, folks you call racists, bigots, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes, haters, Islamophobic, etc.

Can I expect any of you elitists to change your minds about us after what you have witnessed in Texas? Of course not! You will continue spread your hate and vitriol toward anyone who does not agree with you politically, especially President Trump and his supporters.

How do you folks handle disasters? “Don’t tell us how you do it up north, cause we don’t care.” (From the song, Snowbird Season, written and performed by singer/songwriter, Brent Burns).

WHITE SUPREMACY AND ITS AFFECT ON THIS COUNTRY

I shouldn’t have to tell any of my readers about the Charlottesville, Virginia melee that took place last weekend, particularly on Friday night and during the day on Saturday (8-11-2017 and 8-12-2017). It started with a white supremacist/white nationalist group, calling themselves “Unite the Right,” obtaining a permit to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee and the renaming of the park where the statue was located to Emancipation Park from Lee Park.

I viewed videos from Friday night where protesters were carrying tiki torches and shouting Nazi/anti-Jewish slogans. As far as I know, there was no violence resulting in property damage or bodily injury on Friday night. Saturday, or course was a different story as Unite the Right was met by liberal hate groups ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter. Both liberal hate groups have a history of violence. The protest didn’t end well with a young lady who was protesting on the side of the liberal groups being run-down and killed by an alleged member of Unite the Right as he plowed his vehicle into a group of the liberal protesters. In addition to the death of the young lady, nineteen others were injured.

Stories continue to surface. One such story indicates that the Charlottesville Police were told to stand down and let the groups involved in Saturday’s melee oppose each other. Another story that has been revealed by the Southern Poverty Law Center indicated that James Alex Fields, Jr., the driver of the car that plowed into the protestors had, until recently, been an Obama supporter and a far left radical.

Again, I don’t have to tell anyone about the backlash coming from the left and the mainstream media regarding their dissatisfaction with the comments of President Donald Trump in the aftermath of Charlottesville. Most all Democrats and some Republicans have pushed back against the president because he has blamed both sides for the fracas, and also indicated that there were good people on both sides. Furthermore, most all Democrats and some Republicans have elevated the left-wing hate groups, ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter to blameless entitles, indicating that they were lovingly protesting the racist white supremacy group, not seeming to “get” that everyone was going at one another, and ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter have histories of violence.

I have had very little contact with white supremacists. Liberals would be astonished at this since I grew up in Cullman, Alabama and currently live in the Birmingham, Alabama area. But it’s true. Back in the nineties, I was working at a concession stand at the Birmingham, Jefferson Civic Center Coliseum to make money for a service club in which I belonged. One evening, while I was working, about three or four people who looked to be in their twenties/early thirties, who were adorned with swastika tattoos, were just kind of hanging out close to our stand.  I was a bit un-nerved and hoped they would move on. They eventually did, but it took them a while. To be perfectly truthful, they were not disruptive, they were just there.  Still, I didn’t want them close to me.

I don’t know who these people are, what they do for a living, what they do in their spare time, etc. But I can tell you this, cross-burnings are not regular occurrences in my neck of the woods. Also, I don’t hear about cross-burnings in other parts of the country. Cross-burnings do not appear to be common like liberals would have you think. Black neighborhoods, at least those around here, aren’t terrorized by white supremacists/Nazis/the KKK. But many black neighborhoods, particularly in Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, etc. are being terrorized on a regular basis. Are they being terrorized by White Supremacists? No, they are being terrorized by other blacks, particularly black gangs. While I haven’t researched this, I’m going to speculate that more blacks are killed by other blacks than by white supremacists. Are Jews rounded up and transported to labor/death camps by these people? Not that I know of.

A few days ago, I heard some talking head had indicated that the number of white supremacists/neo-Nazis/white nationalists in this country numbered about 100,000. That’s less that the seating capacity of Bryant Denny Stadium. This is miniscule.

What are these people like? Are they bitter old white men? Are they twenty-somethings who still live in their parents’ basement and frequent Internet porn sites? Do they meet once a month and chant their racist and anti-Semitic slogans in some farmer’s cornfield? I really don’t know.

What I do know is that they’re not major causes of trouble such as violence, damaging property and injuring people. Other groups such as ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter do those sorts of things.

Yes, a possible white supremacy group demonstrated in Charlottesville the weekend of 8/11 and 8/12. Are they planning other demonstrations, particularly soon? I’m hearing that’s a possibility. Are these folks transitioning from a bunch of misfits, who possibly visit Internet porn sites, and possibly chant racist and anti-Semitic slogans once a month in cornfields, to violent demonstrators who clash with liberal hate groups such as Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA?

If this is indeed happening, it’s all the fault of liberals in the United States of America and their hate groups. And let’s not forget the mainstream media.  Liberals are responsible for bringing these white supremacy groups to the forefront. Liberals, who are about nothing but hate and have as their goal the destruction of the United States of America are the ones who are elevating groups such as ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter to heroes because these groups, in the name of combating racism, are opposing a minuscule and rather silent, but dangerous segment of the United States population.

Liberals hate the middle class and seek to destroy it. They don’t want low energy prices, they don’t want lower taxes, they don’t want the United States to be a rich, prosperous nation. And they certainly don’t want those citizens who have worked hard to have a little money in the bank or in their portfolios to continue to prosper. They want to destroy those folks, because somewhere in their deranged minds, if you have worked hard and have a little something set aside, you must have cheated to get it, you must have stepped on someone else. Therefore, what you have must be taken away from you.

As of this writing, a “Freedom of Speech” rally was held in Boston, this past Saturday, 8/19/2017. The group holding the rally stated that they were not affiliated with the KKK in any way. From the news reports that have come out, the liberal hate group, ANTIFA came out to counter the freedom of speech rally. ANTIFA counter protesters significantly outnumbered the “Freedom of Speech,” marchers, labeled as a conservative group by the press, including Fox Cable News. It was also revealed that the ANTIFA counter protesters were responsible for the violent acts against the “Freedom of Speech” folks and law enforcement who were there to maintain order.

Whether these “Freedom of Speech” marchers were affiliated with the Klan or other white supremacy  groups, I don’t know. But these groups are not necessarily visible to the American public. They haven’t occupied “news time” in the last few years like the terrorist hate group, Black Lives Matter, has. But the left, in their hatred for anyone who does not toe their line, including their hatred for President Trump and his supporters, may have lit a match under a “powder keg,” unlocking what was once a “below the radar” group. Thus, continuing to divide the United States of America, in hopes of destroying this great country, the country who gave them the freedoms to express their philosophies on how we should govern ourselves, the country who gave them the right to dissent, something they now consider patriotic, but declared racist when Barack Obama was president.

As I have previously indicated in my writings, when an alleged white supremacy group is involved, it is the crimes and actions of the white nationalist group that must be condemned. If groups such as ANTIFA or Black Lives Matter are involved, they cannot be mentioned because, according to the left, and some on the right, if the purpose of ANTIFA/BLM is to counter the white supremacy or neo-Nazi group, they are acting for a noble and holy cause. Forget the fact that both ANTIFA and BLM have histories of violence.

Yes, forget the above facts because liberals don’t care about facts, nor do they care about the truth.

CONDEMN THE WHITE GROUPS FIRST, FORGET THE REST

The citizenry of the United States of America has been conditioned by the left that racism by whites or white groups, particularly white nationalists/white supremacists, is the worst sin that can possibly be committed on the planet. And since the left makes up the definition of racism to fit its needs of the moment, they can accuse you on the spot and take steps to severely punish you, even to the point of ruining your life. And that’s okay.

This liberal directive has also spilled over into the conservative circles. No matter what the facts may be, or if the facts have yet to be determined, if an incident occurs where a white person, or white groups have possibly exhibited  acts of racism, that conservative leader, politicians, pundits, elected officials, etc. must race to the microphone to denounce the white person/white group. No facts are required and if the act turns out to be not true, it doesn’t matter. If the person(s) involved incur damages or if their live/lives are ruined, who cares. They’re white people and it’s our purpose to wipe out all white people or beat them into submission.

The Charlottesville melee has fully confirmed the above. Even though the white nationalist group, “Unite the Right” was acting in unacceptable Nazi-like fashion, the groups, ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, with histories of hate and violence themselves, showed up and the protest site ready to rumble. But, according to Big Brother (the left and the main stream media), ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter have no responsibility in this. In fact, these two hate groups should be applauded because, according to the left, excuse me, Big Brother, they were there to confront racism.

When watching The Five on FNC last night, I observed that Kimberly Guilfoyle and Dana Perino, both conservatives, were displeased with the president’s responses to Charlottesville, thinking that he should have barreled out, grabbed a microphone, and denounced “Unite the Right” as being the sole perpetrator of the events in Charlottesville. Jesse Watters was the only talking head that seemed satisfied with the three addresses by the President. I couldn’t get a feel for what Greg Gutfeld was thinking, and of course Juan Williams thought the President’s actions were unacceptable and that ANTIFA/BLM had no blame in the melee whatsoever.

As I write this, I’m reviewing an article posted on townhall.com in the last hours. According to townhall.com, House Speaker, Paul Ryan, is taking issue with President Trump’s statements regarding the Charlottesville melee. Speaker Ryan tweeted the following: “We must be clear. White Supremacy is repulsive. This bigotry is counter to all this country stands for. There can be no moral ambiguity.

In addition to Speaker Ryan, GOP Chairwoman, Ronna Romney McDaniel corrected the president as to who is to blame for the violence. Chairperson McDaniel tweeted the following: “In Charlottesville, the blame lays squarely on the KKK and white supremacists.”

Speaker Ryan Questions Trump’s ‘Moral Ambiguity’

Like I said above, with respect to acts of racism committed by any white individual or white group, the entire nation appears to have been conditioned to zero in on the white folks/white groups involved and exclude any other groups which may have behaved badly also.

I’m currently listening to Rush Limbaugh and what he’s saying parallels to what I’m writing. Of course, I will be demonized by the left and perhaps some on the right for my observations and opinions. While I may have known this all along, the Charlottesville incident has made me more aware than ever of how the left in American has continuously brainwashed and conditioned the American people and will continue to do so.

In fact, the United States of American is dangerously close to becoming Oceania in the George Orwell novel, “1984.” In fact, I’m going to say it…We are “1984” with the left, including the main stream media assuming the role of “Big Brother.”

DEMOCRATS WHO CELEBRATE THE BIRTHDAY of MARTIN LUTHER KING ARE HYPOCRITES

With all this white privilege garbage being bantered around by the left and something new added to the definition of racism almost on an hourly basis, I was thinking about the words of Dr. Martin Luther King in his “I Have a Dream” speech.

While we’re five months away from celebrating Dr. King’s birthday, I can’t help but be saddened at how far away we have deviated from his dream.

In reviewing the text of his speech, I was searching for the following: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”

In searching for the above, I also came across this: “We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protests to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn our back.”

All my life, I have interpreted these words of Dr. King and the Civil Rights movement in its entirety to have as a goal a near color-blind society, where skin color is likened to hair color or eye color, used predominantly for identification purposes. Having said the above we can’t ignore the facts that the disease, sickle cell anemia strikes only blacks and melanoma/skin cancer strikes mostly whites.

Approximately 44 years after modern day civil rights legislation was passed, the United States of America elected its first black president, Barack Obama. I didn’t like Barack Obama, and I still don’t. He’s a Democrat and I don’t identify with Democrat party politics. I oppose the major expansion of government entitlement programs, including the government takeover of one-sixth of the nation’s economy (the health care industry). I oppose punishing and demonizing the wealthiest Americans just because they are rich, and don’t adhere to the Democrat theory that anybody who has money obtained it off the backs of those less fortunate. I believe that it is necessary to have a strong military to protect American citizens from the invasion of foreign regimes intent on destroying this country. I believe that it is necessary that Americans have the right to bear firearms in order to protect themselves from those who intend to harm. I could, of course, write more, but I’ll end it here.

But the fact that I, along with millions of others, didn’t like Barack Obama, doesn’t change the fact that in 2008, we elected a black president. This event should have signaled to the nation and the rest of the world that we’ve achieved a society in which skin color, with few exceptions, holds little more importance than hair color or eye color.

With blacks making up only 13% of the United States population, Barack Obama had to have some white votes to get elected.

After the 2008 election, and to some extent after the 2012 election, Obama supporters/Democrats demonstrated their hatred for those who didn’t march in lockstep with their policies regarding how this country should be governed. The typical Democrat rant went as follows: “You lost, get over it. We’re in charge now, we’re going to do what we’re going to do. We don’t care what you think.”

Instead of being proud that the nation’s first black president was a Democrat, and looking forward to the probability that their dreams of a socialist utopia would be closer to becoming a reality, Democrats/liberals/progressives displayed their fangs and claws in numerous attempts to “beat down” those on the other side of the political spectrum.

To be labeled a racist during this time was the worst thing that could happen to a person, something from which he or she would never survive. Thus, everyone took extreme measures to avoid having this label slapped on them.

Unlike former Democrat presidential candidate, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, during his campaign made it clear that the United States would no longer be a red country or a blue country. Instead it would be a purple country. He was going to be a president to all Americans. And that’s how it should be.

There was one little thing wrong with this. He didn’t mean it. From early on in his presidency, Obama flaunted his racism and disdain for those who weren’t in lockstep with what he wanted to accomplish as president. While most presidents, including previous president, George W. Bush, recognized that in America, we have the right to disagree with our leaders and the right to express those disagreements, Barack Obama vehemently resented all those who were against his governing philosophies.

The hate of Barack Obama toward his political opponents, gave license to the left wingers of this nation to continue the hate toward those who failed to toe their political line. Thus, anyone who didn’t go along with Obama and the Democrats was a racist. I witnessed the plight of many of my conservative friends attempting to explain to liberals that their differences with former President Barack Obama had nothing to do with his skin color, but where he stood on the issues facing this country. To these explanations, the left was deaf, dumb, and blind, continuing to hammer home that anyone who didn’t like or agree with Obama had to be a racist. Seeing that explaining to liberals about why I didn’t care for Obama was an exercise in futility, I simply referred them to this website and challenged them to find anywhere in any of my writings where I belittled Barack Obama because of the color of his skin. Of course, there are not any.

Even after visiting my blog and admitting there’s nothing in my writings where I’ve besmirched BHO with regard to his skin color, liberals will still accuse you of being a racist. They’ll say you’ve used certain “buzz” or “code” words that connect to racism. When a liberal does attempt to do this, I let him or her know that our conversation is now over. I don’t deal with “buzz words.” End of conversation.

Since the election of Donald Trump to the presidency and his subsequent inauguration, the left has been on a tear regarding not only racism, but sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia. And I understand that misogyny is the new term for sexism. White people are to acknowledge they are privileged because they are white and can’t possibly comment or have any opinions where race is concerned because they haven’t experienced the “black experience” or “the people of color” experience. It sounds like we’re on a collision course to punish white people, particularly white men and render whites powerless. Liberals seem to think that’s okay.

Tell a liberal that you don’t see things in terms of race and seek to judge people by the content of their character as opposed to the color of their skin and see what all things will get said to you. Here’s an example: “Nancy Graham do you feel better now telling us all you don’t see color? You’re a liar and that should make you feel kinda awful. Because you are awful.”

In recent months, we have witnessed a wave of accepted segregation from the left. According to the Washington Examiner, http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/black-lives-matter-group-bans-all-other-races-from-their-open-meeting/article/2619392, The Black Lives Matter organization based in Philadelphia created a public event on Facebook for a gathering they were hosting which they marketed as an “open meeting.” As many know, the supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement are very diverse. However, for the Philly chapter of BLM, their meetings and events are strictly “black spaces” according to their FB event announcement. When pressed via Twitter, the official account of BLM Philly explained that anyone is free to support the movement from a distance, however, their meetings are only for black people. They even cited Malcom X, the human’s rights activist who advocated for segregation.

And remember, Evergreen College, that liberal bastion in Washington state? The students sponsored a “Day of Absence & Day of Presence demonstration for which white students, faculty, and staff were asked to leave campus for one day. Biology professor, Bret Weinstein was berated by dozens of students outside his classroom on the day of the event for refusing to participate in the event.

It seems that liberals are poised to steer the American culture toward a culture that supports segregation and judging people by the color of their skin. It’s perfectly okay to call someone a racist, or for that matter, a misogynist, a xenophobe, homophobe, etc. with no concrete proof. We’re liberals, we’re superior, we make up definitions to suit our needs of the moment, and if we say you’re something, then you are. The end.

Dr. King said in “I Have a Dream,” “We must not allow our creative protests to degenerate into physical violence.” Well, so much for that. According to liberals, it is okay to riot, destroy property, injure, or even assassinate or murder when something happens that we don’t like.

“The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.” Again, so much for Dr. King’s dream. We’re now told that all white people, especially white males are evil. Even those who stand with us in our efforts to destroy property, injure, maim, and even kill, are not to be allowed in our inner circles. They must realize their evilness and submit to whatever punishments we wish to inflict upon them.

“We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.” This instruction from Dr. Martin Luther King is obviously out the window with the left advocating separation of the races and the banning of whites from anything and everything involving “people of color.”

And yet, in five months when Martin Luther King’s birthday rolls around, we’ll be treated to a sickening display of liberal leaders, including Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Corey Booker, Keith Ellison, etc. singing the praises of Dr. King. I have a couple of close friends who are black and liberal. They will certainly attend the many local celebrations held in the Birmingham area.

The folks I mentioned above, including my friends are hypocrites, yes hypocrites. If you support what’s currently taking place in this nation with respect to race, you’re a hypocrite. You’re no better than George Wallace in his early years as governor of Alabama. You’re no better than Birmingham Police Commissioner, Bull Conner, of firehose and police dog fame. In fact, you exist on the same plane as the Ku Klux Klan. How can you even celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday when you’re an advocate of today’s racial politics?

Wait! I know! You’re liberals, you have no scruples, no sense of fairness, no sense of wrong and right. It’s whatever suits your needs of the moment and gives you a euphoric complex of superiority. And anyone who dares to disagree with you…well, we know about that.
