LIBERAL NATURE NEVER CHANGES

As a political writer, I often interject myself into liberal threads, mostly on Facebook. While there are some folks who think that people should stay off threads/forums where their views differ from most the folks posting on that thread/forum, I disagree. It’s a “freedom of speech thing.” You have the right to your opinion, even though the left in this country doesn’t think so.

When you get on a primarily liberal thread/forum, you’re going to get trashed, called names, and insulted because that’s what the left does and that’s all the left knows how to do. They’re losers on the issues, so all they can do when you post facts and statistics is call you names, hoping disrupt your train of thought and scare you off of “their thread.” When liberals start belittling you personally, you’re winning. When they call you a racist, you’ve won the debate, hands down. It’s the liberal nature, the nature of the beast. As I’ve indicated many times on this blog, liberals make up the definition of racism as they go along to whatever suits their needs of the moment.

Liberals have a hard time with reading comprehension. In other words, they can’t seem to understand what they read. On almost every liberal thread I visit, I have to explain at least two times, if not more, the point I was trying to make. The question is: do they really not understand what I’m saying or are they trying to throw me off subject because they can’t possibly win an argument with me? I’m guessing the latter.

We all know that liberals are haters. They hate the new President of the United States, Donald Trump. They hate his family, they hate his administration, and they hate his supporters, including me, and including you. They’re also hypocrites. And you know what? They don’t care. They loathe you so much that they don’t think they’re accountable to you. They don’t have to justify their hypocrisy. They don’t’ have to justify their lawlessness to you. They don’t have to justify anything they do to you because you’re so stupid, and you’re such nothings. That’s liberal nature.

There have been a number of weekends, since his inauguration, where the president has traveled to his resort property, Mar-a-Lago in Florida, for a working weekend. In fact, I don’t think that the president has taken a full day off since he took the oath of office. Yet the liberals continue to beat the drum that these working weekends were vacations. He has played some golf, but it is unknown whether he finished games or just teed-off and left to do other things. It seems as though liberals have forgotten Obama’s golf outings, his date nights with Michelle in the Big Apple, and his and the former first lady’s many vacations. Furthermore, President Trump has indicated that he would pay for his and the family’s vacations. Of course, we’ll have to see if that happens. While I’m a Trump supporter, I’ve also followed politics for over a quarter of a century and feel that I know the nature of politics on both sides of the spectrum, and sometimes it’s not always on the up and up.

I have to admit that I have a hard time wrapping my arms around liberal nature, or what liberals really espouse, which is the total control over all of our lives because they think we’re too stupid to make intelligent decisions. Who says all of our decisions have to be intelligent ones? And where do they get off on thinking the decisions they make are intelligent ones?

When friends ask me for my opinion on certain serious matters relating to their own lives, I always respond, indicating that the decision should be their decision, not mine. If I make the decision for them and it turns out to be a wrong decision, then it’s all my fault. If they make the decision, then it’s their decision and they will have to live with it, without blaming me. If I advise someone to spend $100 on a dress, they do it, and end up not liking the dress, they’re only out $100. But if someone asks me whether or not they should break up with a boyfriend or divorce a spouse, the friend has to make that decision, not me. That’s a biggie.

Back to liberal nature, liberals think they know what’s best for you…how you should invest and spend your money, what health insurance coverages you should choose, what you eat, what you drive, what setting your thermostat should be, etc.

I indicated above that liberals are incapable of comprehending what they read or hear on the news. They are always going to think that working weekends by the president at Mar-a-Lago are vacations. They are always going to think that any questioning of the effectiveness of a government entitlement program means you hate the poor and hate minorities. They are always going to think that the reason you didn’t support former President Barack Obama’s policies is because you hate him because of the color of his skin. When you indicate that you think illegal aliens should be deported and, as a nation, we should crack down on illegal immigration, liberals are never going to recognize the difference between legal and illegal immigration, and accuse you of being against all immigration. They will never agree to the originalist view of the constitution, and they will never agree to obeying laws they don’t like.

The above are just a few examples of liberal nature. They’re never going to agree to look at both sides of issues, even though the definition of liberalism includes the ability to examine all factors of an issues.

So, why even enter a discussion on a liberal thread or forum? To make them mad. To reinforce that you’re right and that they are wrong. To let them accuse you of all sorts of falsehoods and egregious things. Then keep records of what they say to you, and use those records to further illustrate their unfathomable hatred of you, the president, conservatives, and anyone who does not agree with them. Keep throwing it at them and continue to expose their liberal nature.

If they’re never going to change their opinions or jettison their intense hate, why bother? Because we have to, the future of this nation depends on exposing their un-American rhetoric and promoting our patriotism.

WING NUT GAL ON THE AHCA

According to 8 Need to Know Facts About the AHCA from housegop.leadpages.co/healthcare, the following is what you need to know about the AHCA legislation that was withdrawn prior to vote the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday, March 23, 2017.

  1. Dismantles the Obamacare taxes that have hurt job creators, increased premium costs, and limited options for patients and health care providers, including taxes on prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, health insurance premiums, and medical devices.
  2. Eliminates the individual and employer mandate penalties, which forced millions of workers, families, and job creators into expensive, inadequate Obamacare plans they don’t want and cannot afford.
  3. Prohibits health insurers from denying coverage or charging more money to patients based on pre-existing conditions.
  4. Helps young adults access health insurance and stabilize the marketplace by allowing dependents to continue staying on their parents’ plan until they are 26.
  5. Establishes a Patient and State Stability Fund, which provides states with $100 billion to design programs that meet the unique needs of their patient populations and help low-income Americans afford health care.
  6. Modernizes and strengthens Medicaid by transitioning to a “per capita allotment” so states can better serve the patients most in need.
  7. Empowers individuals and families to spend their health care dollars the way they want and need by enhancing and expanding Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), nearly doubling the amount of money people can contribute and broadening how people can use it.
  8. Helps Americans access affordable, quality health care by providing a monthly tax credit, between $2000 and $25,000 a year, for low and middle income individuals and families who don’t receive insurance through work or a government program.

I have always said, even dating back to the days when the Clinton administration was attempting to pass “Hillary Care,” if we allow government run health care to pass and the federal government to grab 14% of the nation’s economy, that would the beginning of the end of the United States of America. I also said that the un-doing of such a hideous piece of legislation would be all but impossible.

When President Trump was elected, in part, because he promised to get rid of Obamacare, I knew it couldn’t be done in a day, or in weeks, or maybe even in months. The Democrats totally own Obamacare and could rightfully be blamed for its flaws. Once the Republicans came in and began to make changes, no matter now minor or how extensive, they would then own it. Democrats, along with the mainstream media were sure to trash it and claim how many Americans it is killing and will continue to kill; and the ones it doesn’t kill will suffer unbearably. Remember, Democrats don’t care about the truth or about facts. In other words, this had to be done right, no mistakes! Even though I am anxious for my premiums to decrease, I wasn’t in a hurry because again, I wanted this done right.

As much as I would like to go back to when Obamacare didn’t exit, unfortunately, that’s going to be impossible. Much of Obamacare is entitlements and once you’ve granted entitlements, it is next to impossible to pull them back. Examples include the allowing of children to be on their parents’ healthcare plan until age 26 and the inability to deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

When House Speaker, Paul Ryan pulled the AHCA legislation and didn’t allow a vote because there were not enough votes to pass it, I was disappointed because I felt that this was the best we were going to be able to do in getting rid of the most evil piece of legislation ever wrought on the American people.

I might be wrong, though. In fact, I hope I am wrong. I would certainly support something that would make it so that Obamacare never even existed. I would love to have my premiums at the level they were three years ago. Three years ago, I was on a COBRA plan, and while it wasn’t cheap, it was affordable, and I had good insurance. For those of you who may not ever have had the need to check into Cobra prices, they are comparable to prices you would pay for health insurance should you have to procure it on your own.

What is the White House doing now since the AHCA wasn’t voted on? I’m getting mixed signals from the media outlets about what next. I’m hearing that work has already begun to revive “repeal and replace.” I’m also hearing that AHCA is dead in the water and the White House is moving on to tax reform. While it would have been nice to have the taxes in Obamacare repealed before moving further on tax reform, it wasn’t going to happen.

There’s no way you can spin this to say that it wasn’t a big setback for President Trump and the Republican party. But that’s what it was, a setback. The Trump presidency is not coming to an end like many on the left would have you believe. Like Rush Limbaugh said on his 3/27 monologue, “Trump’s voters do not blame him for this. Trump’s the new guy. The people that have been there all along appear to be the people that can’t get anything done, but Trump was gonna be the guy to go in there and change all of this and didn’t.”

Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich thinks that the Trump White House, instead of attacking tax reform, should focus on an infrastructure bill, something in which the Democrats will work with him, and give him a legislative victory. Not sure I agree with that because I really want to see tax reform take place, and I will admit that it’s for personal reasons.

Rush Limbaugh has also indicated that he thinks that the Democrats are salivating at the opportunity to work with Donald Trump. He thinks they will jump at the chance to work on an infrastructure bill and even on fixing Obamacare. I don’t necessarily agree with Rush on this. The Democrats have so much hate for Republicans and anyone who disagrees with them, plus they’ve continuously maintained that they will not work with President Trump. Instead, they will do everything they can to wreck his presidency.

I’ve said this many times. Donald Trump is a business man and in his conglomerate, when he says jump, employees say, “How high.” That’s not the case in the public sector, and he just got his reminder of that. The facts are: Donald Trump is the President of the United States for at least the next three years and ten months. He will continue to work on his agenda of limited government, tax reform, and the diminution of Islamic terrorism. Democrats will continue to fight him tooth and nail with nothing but hate in their hearts for Donald Trump, his administration, and his supporters.

What’s going to happen with health care? Obamacare is and has always been a train wreck. It’s close to imploding. And when it does, it will still be owned by the Democrats.

ANTI-INTELLECTUAL ELITISM IN THE USA

Or to put it in simple terms, democracy, Christianity, and the information super highway.

In an article dated June 7, 2014 in psychologytoday.com, entitled “The Cult of Ignorance in the United States: Anti-Intellectualism and the ‘dumbing down’ of America,” author Ray Williams indicates that there is a growing and disturbing trend of anti-intellectual elitism in American culture. It’s dismissal of science, the arts, and humanities and their replacement by entertainment, self-righteousness, ignorance, and deliberate gullibility.

Not so sure that I understand the complete meaning of all that was said above, but I’ll forge on anyway.

Mr. Williams gives examples of how the United States of America is being “dumbed down,” and indicates that part of the reason for rising anti-intellectual elitism can be found in the declining state of education in the U.S.  as compared to other advanced countries.  One such example is from the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, through a commissioned civic education poll among public school students: 77% of public school students didn’t know that George Washington was the first President of the United States, and couldn’t name Thomas Jefferson as the author of the Declaration of Independence. Furthermore, only 2.8 of the students could actually pass an American citizenship test. Other examples include that 18% of Americans believe that the sun revolves around the earth (according to a Gallup poll), 68% of public school children in the United States do not read proficiently by the time they finish third grade (2009 Assessment of Educational Progress), and barely 50% of students are ready for college level reading when they graduate (U.S. News & World Report).

You can review this list by going to The Cult of Ignorance in the United States: Anti-Intellectualism and the dumbing down of America.

Mr. Williams also cites another Gallup poll indicating that 42% of Americans still believe that God created human beings in their present form less than 10,000 years ago, and that 25% of public school biology teachers believe that humans and dinosaurs inhabited the earth simultaneously. Thus our Christian beliefs, including that the Bible is the immutable word of God have contributed to the “dumbing down” of America. Well, Mr. Williams, I have something to tell you: God was “taken out of our society” in 1963 following two landmark decisions, Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963) where the Supreme Court established what is now the current prohibition on state-sponsored prayer in U.S. schools. From my observations, it seems as most of the so-called “dumbing down” of America took place afterwards. In fact, it was churches in early America that established the first schools.

The article, without a doubt besmirches social media. Mr. Williams points to Bill Keller, a writer for the New York Times, who has indicated that anti-intellectual elitism is not an elitism of wisdom, education, experience or knowledge. The new elite are the angry social media posters, those who can shout loudest and more often, a clique of bullies and malcontents baying together like dogs cornering a fox. Too often it’s a combined elite of the anti-intellectuals and the conspiracy followers, not those who can voice the most cogent, most coherent response. Together they foment a rabid culture of anti-rationalism where every fact is suspect, every shadow holds a secret conspiracy. Rational thought is the enemy. Critical thinking is the devil’s tool. Herd mentality takes over online, the anti-intellectuals become the metaphorical equivalent of an angry lunch mob when anyone either challenges of the mob beliefs or posts anything outside the mob’s self-limiting set of values.

This kind of reminds me of liberals on social media. Get on a liberal thread and post an opinion different from the other posters, and you’re pounced upon, like Mr. Keller says, dogs cornering a fox.

At an early point in the article, Mr. Williams cites Pulitzer Prize winner, Richard Hofstadter, in his 1964 book, Anti-Intellectualism in American Life, describes how the vast underlying foundations of anti-elite, anti-reason, and anti-science have been infused into America’s political and social fabric.

Of course, when “anti-science” is mentioned, we conservatives almost always think about climate change. And while there are experts out there who indicate climate change is a hoax and thus, a means by which the government can more and more control over our lives, we’re demonized, sometimes to the point of being called “flat earthers” when we question the existence of climate change.

Mr. Williams’ article also quotes science fiction writer, Isaac Asimov, who once said: “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States of American, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

So, is democracy under attack here? My first question is what makes a science fiction writer an expert on American culture and democracy? It sure looks like our system of government is under attack. One of the tenants of democracy is freedom of speech and freedom of expression. We’re free to talk and express ourselves, no matter how ignorant we may appear. Sure looks to me like he’s attacking democracy by indicating that because of our ignorance, we shouldn’t have the right to question experts/those who know best.

With the advent of the Internet and subsequently one of its components, social media, people have access to the world’s knowledge at their fingertips. They also have access to the world’s garbage. We no longer have to pick up the newspaper out of the yard or time our lives by the television to get the news of the day. Instead, we grab or phones, tablets, or laptops and log on to our favorite news sites. And let’s not forget we can turn on our TVs to the various 24-hour news channels. In other words, we don’t have to wait on newspapers, news magazines, or the evening/morning network news broadcasts to know what’s taking place.

Furthermore, if there’s a subject about which we wish to learn more, we don’t have to wait until the library opens, get cleaned up and presentable, and drive to the local branch to see what information the facility may have on our topic, we get on our phone, tablet, or PC.

Because we can absorb more information in less time, from a plethora of sources, we can also form opinions and ask questions.

Through the newer mechanism of social media, we can more readily interact with those who are of like mind or those who are not of like mind. Of course, with the good, always comes the bad. We often make asses of ourselves, and we also can make asses of others.

Mr. Williams, in my interpretation of his article, tells us that the United States is an ignorant nation and is getting even more ignorant. This is because of our Christian faith, the way we govern ourselves, and our immediate access to all the world’s knowledge. It’s made us bold, it’s made us curious, it’s made us question those who put themselves forth as experts.

I agree with Mr. Williams that this country is “dumbing down” or as he would say we are becoming victims of anti-intellectualism. But it’s not because of our Christian/Judeo culture, nor is it because we are a democracy where freedom speech and freedom of expression are not quashed. And lastly, it’s not because of the Internet and subsequently social media.

It’s because we did take God out of our society in the sixties and are still doing it today. Liberalism in its utopic desire to not just guarantee everyone equal opportunity, but to insist that outcomes also be equal has led to the diminishing of competition to determine who is best, replacing competition with a one-size fits all participation trophies.

In our public schools, we seem to hesitate to delineate gifted students who should be recognized and placed on a track to learning that doesn’t allow them to become lackadaisical, losing interest and prone to fill their down time with unhealthy activities. Doing this might affect the self-esteem of the other students and perhaps discourage a potentially gifted student from giving it his or her all.

Teachers’ unions get crazy when anyone outside of academia dares to indicated that their one-size fits all concept of education might be obsolete and various mechanisms such as a school voucher might enhance the educational opportunities of millions of students across the nation.

This country was founded slightly less than 250 years ago, and it is an experiment unlike anything that has ever been tried before. Mr. Williams doesn’t seem to like this experimental nation and feels that freedom of speech and expression, Christian values, and increased access to knowledge continue to make this an ignorant nation. I don’t agree. It’s liberalism.

‘IDES OF TRUMP,’ LIBERALS TO INUNDATE WHITE HOUSE WITH POSTCARDS

I heard about this little stunt that liberals were preparing to do on March 15, also known as the ‘Ides of March,’ the day that Julius Caesar was assassinated. Being one of the stupidest things I had ever heard of liberals doing, I felt sure that it would fizzle out before March 15. Evidently not, though. According to commondreams.org, the ‘Ides of Trump’ movement plans to mail at least 1 million postcards to President Donald Trump on the fifteenth to show the man, the media, and the politicians how vast their numbers are…to make it irrefutable that the president’s claim of wide support is a farce.

Anti-trumpsters are encouraged to write one or more postcards, addressed to the president at the White House, plus take pictures of the cards and post to social media. Participants are also encouraged to “write from the heart,” citing all of their issues with number 45: DAPL, women’s rights, racial discrimination, religious freedom, immigration, economic security, education, the environment, etc.

The desire of the people spear-heading this movement is to overwhelm Washington and bury the White House Post Office in pink slips, all informing President Trump that he is fired.

While I certainly believe in freedom of speech, freedom of expression, etc., and admit that these folks have every right to carry on this stupidity, what good is it going to do? These postcards, except for a token few, will not reach the president. They will be disposed of at some point.

All this is going to do is “gum up the mail.” The regular mail such as checks, packages, bills, magazines, medicines, and yes, junk mail will be delayed. What about the thousands or maybe even millions of people who have medicines such as insulin delivered to their residences through the U.S. Postal Service? What if the medicine is delayed and the recipient is out of his or her prescriptions? Every American is going to be inconvenienced in some way.

Also, extra postal workers are going to have to be brought in to deal with all of this. That means the already financially strapped USPS is going to pay out additional money in wages and overtime. Furthermore, these postcards are just going to be disposed of. And where are they going to be taken. This is surely going to clog up the garbage dumps across the United States. Could this paper be recycled? Probably. But the works are going to be “gummed up” somewhere.

If those of us who didn’t vote for or support Obama when he was elected president had pulled something like this, we would, first of all, been called racists, the term that has always been thrown out at those who didn’t agree with the former president’s policies. We would also have been called tree-killers because trees are used to make postcards. But since you are liberals and have the media on your side, nothing much will be said by the media.

This is nothing but an act of pure hate by those on the left. They can’t get over the fact that they lost the election…their candidate didn’t win. It’s been four months since the election and they’re still acting like the whiny brats they are. Because they are miserable, they’re going to ruin things for everyone else and cause hurt to as many Americans as possible.

Surprised? You shouldn’t be.

ANTI-TRUMP WOMEN MARCHERS

While many scoff at social media, I must admit that I get substantial portions of my material from social media, particularly Facebook. After writing for almost three years, I have become familiar with the political websites, both right leaning, and left leaning and have a list of those on which I can depend most of the time.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a video from Liz Wheeler on “Tipping Point” from One America News. Ms. Wheeler was being snarky when it came to the anti-trump women marchers and their strike on March 8. To those women, she said let’s teach our girls that it’s okay to skip work and ditch your responsibilities when something connected with the job, such as salary, doesn’t suit you.

The organizers of “the strike” encouraged women to skip work, wear red, refuse to shop, etc. thinking the nation’s economy would grind to a halt because they, the anti-trump women marchers were irreplaceable.

Those in the labor force generally are allowed to take time off from work for various reasons such as vacations, sickness, emergencies, etc., with pay and without fear of being fired. The exception is contractors who lose pay when they are absent from work. Long term, experienced contractors most always build in anticipated time off into the rate they request, and negotiations often take place.

I certainly believe in freedom of speech, which includes the right to protest. If a woman wants to take strike day off, whether it’s to attend a protest or to sit around the house or apartment and do nothing, she, or he, has that right, but should also have time built up in the form of vacation, paid absence, personal leave, etc. in order to receive pay for the day. Or, in certain circumstances, she might be willing to take the day without pay. Plus, and this is important, she must make arrangement to take the day off with her employer. It’s best to schedule a day off ahead of time because some companies do penalize for unplanned absences. Whatever you do, don’t just not show up for work. You can be terminated for that and clauses stating such are in most employment contracts.

Ms. Wheeler further indicated that Wednesday’s strike was for the rich women only, those who could afford to take off work such as business owners and CEOs. This strike also only appeared to be for women who had enough time off built up at their jobs that they could take a day’s vacation and still have plenty time off for other things.

In February, we had a “day without immigrants” strike, and according to sources, including Ms. Wheeler, 100 immigrants were fired from their jobs because they didn’t show up for work. And this is very sad. Were these immigrants who don’t speak or understand English all that well? Were these immigrants who are still getting used to the customs and practices of the American culture, and maybe didn’t realize that failing to show up for work could get them fired? And they might not have cared either. We don’t know. But for those who may have listened to the Democrat politicians telling them that their rights are being violated and that the Trump administration and Republicans hate them, followed the lead of those Democrat politicians when they said don’t show up for work, and lost their jobs and their livelihood, the Democrats are 100 percent to blame. Hear me, Democrats, liberals, progressives, etc. You are to blame!

Furthermore, if any women who followed the lead of these awful anti-Trump women marchers, you are 100 percent to blame also. You and only you. I hope you’re proud of yourselves.

Ms. Wheeler went on to ask these awful women just what rights had been taken away from them by the Trump administration that they had before President Trump took office. If any of you who are reading this are anti-Trump women marchers, send me a reply, I’d really like to know what rights you have lost. Ms. Wheeler then asked the anti-Trump women marchers if they had ever been denied a job because they were women, and reminded the women that this has been illegal since 1963. Have any of you not been allowed to attend a class because you’re a female?

All President Donald Trump is threatening to do is take away your free birth control which costs about $10.00 per month. And you’re acting like whiny brats about it.

Ms. Wheeler pointed out that these anti-Trump women marchers were not standing up for the women in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, the Sudan, etc. where women are oppressed, killed, raped, and mutilated. Neither have these anti-Trump women marchers stood up for women who were burned to death in metal cages by ISIS. Of course, these women wouldn’t dare stand up for women business owners who lost everything because their local governments didn’t approve of their Christian faith. And, I think it goes without saying that these horrible women would never stand with women who choose to own guns to protect them from sexual and other types of assault.

These anti-Trump women marchers are nothing but vindictive, only standing up for women who agree with them. Those who disagree with them, be damned. You march for the women who want the government a hand out of free birth control pills, just like animals who can’t control their behavior because hormones rule.

According to Ms. Wheeler, and I agree with her 100 percent, the anti-Trump women marchers think they’re irreplaceable to the extent that the United States economy would collapse because they chose to do nothing or attend a protest for one day. Well, let me tell you disgusting women something. Your little strike didn’t exactly cause the U.S. economy to collapse. If fact, your little strike did nothing except maybe cause hardship to some lower income women who followed your lead. If any women lost their jobs because they thought it was okay to just not show up for work, it’s 100 percent your fault and that of the Democrat party.

And while I’m listing the women who are in danger that you’re not representing, let me list one last group: Those 29 or so million girls who never had the right to exercise their freedoms. Never received life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness.

One of the ways the anti-trump women marchers used to identify themselves on March 8 was to wear red. Red is my favorite color because red is one of the colors of my school, the University of Alabama, the Crimson Tide. Red means bold and winning. You anti-Trump women marchers are anything but. You’re an embarrassment and turned International Women’s Day, what could have been a fun day to do lunch and other things, into something bad.

You anti-Trump women marchers have set good and decent women back a generation. All you can do is put on your imbecilic vagina hats and dress up like crotches, demanding free birth control. But the rest of us women are strong and invincible. We’ll regain our rightful places quickly in spite of what you are doing to destroy us.
