AMERICAN HISTORY TAUGHT IN OUR SCHOOLS

We have been hearing and reading for quite some time how those who were responsible for the establishment of the United States of America might not have been such great people. The main reason for this was because they owned slaves.  The honoring or even the discussing of men such as Christopher Columbus, George Washington, John Smith (Jamestown), Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, etc. was brought into question. For to do so, might offend people, especially blacks, who most likely descended from slaves.

The Civil War was a tumultuous time in this nation’s history, and the splitting  of the Union led to reverberations that can still be felt today. This is  something we never want to repeat. Are we teaching our children about it, so they can get an understanding of why we don’t ever want to go back there? Not from what I’m hearing and reading. To teach students about the Civil War might be offensive to some, especially black students. So, we refrain from teaching the history of the War Between the States so as not to offend.

During World War II, Japanese Americans were rounded up and relocated to camps in the interior U.S. These individuals lived on the Pacific coast, and sixty-two of them were American Citizens. These actions were ordered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt shortly after Imperial Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor. I have a liberal friend, not Japanese, that keeps pointing this out to me in her quest to prove that the United States is a racist, evil, xenophobic, misogynist nation. Have I left anything out?

Following the detonation of the atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing countless lives, but  saving more lives in the long run, and winning the war for the Americans, liberals now throw this back in our facse stating that America is a racist, evil, xenophobic, misogynist nation. Again, have I left anything out?

The United States of America was birthed in 1776, approximately 240 years ago. Using biblical stats, our civilization is around 6,000 years old. We’re a  young country. Even though I firmly believe that God was steering our founding fathers in the establishment of this great nation, our founding fathers were mere mortals, and in establishing the United States of America, they were doing something that have never been tried before. In other words, it was a radical experiment.

With the creation of the United States of America and the constitution which allowed for freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms against a possible oppressive government, we put in place tools in which we could use to “right our wrongs” when wrongs most certainly would arise.

Because new Americans were, as I indicated above, mere mortals, it stands to reason that mistakes in the development of this experimental nation would be made. At times we would flip to the ways of the old world. But because of the constitution and the foundation that was in place, we gave the American citizens freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, freedom to practice their religion or not practice religion. And because of these freedoms that were given to the American people through our founding fathers, guided by God, the American people put an end to slavery in 1865, less than 100 years after our nation was founded in 1776. In 1920, because of the constitution and the freedoms which were given to the America people, women were given the right to vote. Because blacks and other minorities were still considered second class citizens and didn’t have the rights they were originally granted under our constitution, Civil Rights legislation was passed in 1964.

Following the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the women’s movement began in 1970, whereby it became the norm for women to seek careers other than the formerly traditional careers held by women of secretary, school teacher, social worker, and nurse. It became commonplace for women to become doctors, lawyers, business executives, engineers, etc.

Because of the Constitution of the United States of America, put in place by our founding fathers, this country has been able to evolve to the point where every man, woman, and child has a chance to be anything they desire. In obtaining their goals and desires, not everyone is going to have the same path. Some will have it easy, others not so easy. Just remember, God never promised any of us a rose garden. Follow him, to the exclusion of everything else, and he will guide you and watch over you.

Back to our topic, we don’t appear to be teaching our children about the founding fathers and how this country was established because we’re afraid of offending certain groups. Instead, the American history taught in schools is full of America’s mistakes and how this country is racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and many other things. Thus, so many of our young people, particularly those we consider millennials, have no appreciation for how this country was founded, and are following philosophies such as socialism and even communism as ways that the United States should go forward as a nation. Redistribution of wealth, from each according to his ability and to each according to his need, tax the evil rich, screw big business, etc. have become the mantra of those who seek to destroy the cornerstones in which this country was built.

What is not realized by groups that are offended because our founding fathers may have owned slaves, because we were a nation which once recognized slavery, because we once were a nation where women were not allowed to vote, etc. is that the very bones of this nation provided the tools to right our wrongs. The founding documents, created by the founding fathers enabled the United States of America to eliminate slavery when slavery was prevalent everywhere on the planet. The documents created by the founding fathers enabled the United States of America to give women the right to vote when there was no other place on the planet where women had the right to vote. The documents created by the founding fathers enabled the United States of America to pass legislation to further give those other than white males the status and opportunities they rightly deserve.

But again, liberals have determined that it is politically incorrect to teach our children about our founding fathers, about the constitution, about the Civil War (something that we don’t want to ever repeat), about World War II where the Americans defeated two of the most evil regimes to ever exist in the history of the world. Instead, we’re teaching our children about how America is a racist, misogynist, xenophobic, homophobic nation which deserves to be weakened and eventually destroyed. Have I left anything out?

For the unfathomable mess that has been created, I don’t  blame individual teachers. They’re given textbooks and ordered to teach out of those textbooks. However, I do blame the teachers’ unions and other teachers’ organizations who side with the left.

Once our citizens become totally ignorant of how this country was founded, we will no longer have a United States of America. We will cease to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. We will have long forgotten the mechanisms that were established so that we would be able right our wrongs. We will have reverted back to old world ways, the ways those who persevered to come to the new world left behind.

The United States of America is a 250 year experiment that is on the brink of failure because we are not teaching future generations about American History and how to sustain our Republic.

WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE BLACKS HAPPY?

In an article dated 10/20/2016, liberal “smear merchant,” Huffington Post, entitled, “Donald Trump Really Needs to Quit Saying ‘The African Americans.’”

Donald Trump Really Needs To Quit Saying ‘The African Americans’

During the final presidential debate this past Wednesday night, candidate Trump stated the following: “We need law and order, our inner cities are a disaster. You get shot walking to the store. They have no education. They have no jobs. I will do more for African-Americans and Latinos than Hillary Clinton can do in 10 lifetimes. All she’s done is talked to the African Americans and the Latinos.”

Author Lilly Workneh seem to think that this was offensive, with the Republican nominee alluding that all blacks are uneducated, unemployed, and reside in inner cities. Of course, Trump wasn’t saying this. He was illustrating that Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton, had done nothing to make things better for low income blacks, many of which live in the inner city sections of Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, and other large metropolitan areas throughout the United States.

Even though it was Republicans who were responsible for the passing of the 1964 civil rights legislation, blacks have overwhelmingly voted Democrat, thinking that the Democrat party wants to “help them.” However, because the white folks, particularly those who vote Republican, won’t pay enough money in taxes for entitlement programs such as Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society, these programs aren’t doing what they were designed to do and thus, the percentage of Americans in poverty, particularly black Americans has increased.

Mr. Trump said that we need law and order, our inner cities are a disaster. Does anyone, black or other than black, disagree with this? Trump also said, you get shot walking to the store. They have no education and no jobs. Innocent people regularly get shot in the inner cities because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Blacks have continuously voted Democrat because Democrats have continually brain-washed them into thinking that their tax and spend policies are the only mechanisms that will help poor blacks. For a generation, there is no evidence that those tax and spend policies have done one scintilla of good. Now, Donald Trump is asking black to give him a chance, pointing out that the Democrats have not been much help to them. And this is offending them?

Democrats have offered to help low income blacks for more than a generation and to no avail, but when a Republican asks to be given a chance, they get all offended. A related tweet stated the following: “Referring to a diverse community of people as “the African-Americans” shows you have no understanding that they are, in fact, human beings.” Is this person (Michael Fells) for real? This is a real stretch. Someone had to do a whole lot of thinking to come up with this.

Maybe it’s the word, “the,” that’s offensive. I wonder if Donald had left off the work, “the,” would blacks and of course, other liberals, find this offensive.

As I said above, nothing in what Donald Trump said during the third debate even remotely indicated that all blacks are uneducated, unemployed, and live in inner cities. But the same people who get offended by Donald Trump’s words, are the same people who cheered when Hillary Clinton said that half of Donald Trump supporters were a basket of deplorables. Subsequently at least one Democrat operative indicated that she should have said all Trump supporters were a basket of deplorables. In addition be being described as deplorable, liberals have also indicated that Trump supporters are uneducated rednecks. My response to the person who shared the link to this article was as follows: “But I guess it’s okay to call Trump supporters deplorables. Also, I guess it’s okay to label Trump supporters as uneducated red necks. And I guess it was okay for Barak Obama to call those of us who are Christians and support the second amendment, bitter clingers.”

What’s it going to take to make blacks happy? Liberals, including black liberals, claim they want things to change for the better in the inner cities, but a Republican dare not say there are problems in inner cities, and when he or she does, offense is taken. Liberals, including black liberals, seem to insinuate that there are no problems within the inner cities. I guess the only problems blacks have are the isolated incidents where somebody black is killed by somebody white. Then it’s time to mobilize in order to destroy property and injure those poor people who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This article was contained in a section of the Huffington Post called “Black Voices.” If this is all author Lilly Workneh could muster up, things must be pretty fine among blacks. We know this is not the case. Stupid articles such as this article mask what are real problems, not just in lower income/high crime black communities, but in all low income/high crime communities.

Again, what’s it going to take to make liberal blacks happy? My conclusion is nothing. As long as they give charlatans like Al Sharpton, the Black Lives Matter movement, and Barak Obama a voice, while rejecting Donald Trump and the Republicans who want make their lives better, nothing is going to get any better.

FREEDOMS LOST

GrowingUpFree

A week or so ago, I shared the above meme on my personal FB page, and had a couple of folks to take issue with it.

As you can see, it is a picture of an elderly couple who is supporting Donald Trump because they grew up in a free America and want the same for their grand kids. Issue was taken because it was felt that while America was a free country that freedom wasn’t granted to everyone, particularly people of color, women, homosexuals, immigrants, etc. And those groups are still fighting for equality and justice.

The couple in this meme look to be in their mid-seventies to early eighties, making them born somewhere around 1940. I’m well aware that women weren’t give the right to vote until 1920, that civil rights legislation was not passed until 1964, and the majority of women held the traditional women’s occupations of nurse, school teacher, secretary, housewife, etc. until things began expanding for women in the early seventies.

Whenever someone, especially someone white, expresses a desire to turn back the hands of time, liberals and those who lean left consider that person a racist, sexist, homophobic because they long for a time when certain groups didn’t have the rights and privileges they have today. That is most likely not the case and to assume so is stereotyping.

Over my lifetime, we, as Americans, have lost freedoms. Because these freedoms have been lost over time, most people don’t notice. Furthermore, when we’re asked to give up a freedom, we are told that it’s no big deal, just give us this one little tiny thing and we won’t ask for anything else.

A major freedom that Americans have lost is the right to live without health insurance. With the advent of Obamacare, individuals are now required to purchase health insurance or pay a fine. Never before had the federal government required its citizens to purchase something. Because so many Americans cannot afford the sky-rocketing health insurance premiums, they’ve lost the freedom to seek medical attention should they get sick. While it certainly isn’t wise to go without health insurance, even for a minute, we no longer have that freedom. In addition to the above, many of us who are paying exorbitant healthcare premiums, no longer have the freedom to spend a substantial amount our money as we wish. There are some things that I need and some things that I want. But because of Obamacare, I’m having to pay so much for health insurance and healthcare, that I’m not able to purchase some of these things.

Those who settled in America, coming from Europe, sought freedom from religious persecution. Up until recently, we did have freedom to practice our religion or to not practice a religion, even though this country was founded on Judeo Christian principles. We’re currently witnessing people being forced to choose between their jobs and their faith. That’s an abomination. And Hillary Clinton has opined that the American people are going to have to alter their beliefs to fit within the laws this government has passed and plans to pass.

While the first amendment is still in force, freedom of speech and expression have been expotentially diminished, particularly over the last 7-1/2 years. This past Saturday afternoon, a star running back on my football team took the ball and scampered a substantial distance to a touchdown in a hostile stadium. After scoring the touchdown, the young man, displayed the palm of his gloved hand, containing an ‘A’ for Alabama, to a Tennessee fan sitting on the front row of the end zone. The announcers questioned whether that was over-doing it, and there have been many threads on social media and other forums discussing this. Some people were indicating that as long as the player didn’t touch the fan, it was okay, but still showed lack of class. Chances are, when you are in an event arena containing over 100,000 humans and one mangy blue tic hound, you’re going to get touched. Twenty-five years ago, this would not have been an issue.

Today, you can’t have an opinion differing from that of the “tolerant” left without being harassed and called names.

The Obama administration has also been hinting that some sort of government controlled truth squad should be established to filter the news that’s transmitted to the public. When I started this blog 2-1/2 years ago, I knew that I would be denigrated by the left for my views because it was happening to all conservatives, with some on the left calling for an end to the broadcasts of such folks as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Some time ago, a friend said to me, “Nancy, you say you don’t let what people say to you and write about you, bother you; but I think it bothers you more than you’re willing to admit.” Shouldn’t I have the right to express my opinion without harassment and fear?

I could write a book on lost freedoms, those the elderly couple in the meme probably had in mind. However, the theme of the person who took issue with this meme seemed to want to stress the point that America was a bad country and had been taught that in school, and somehow this meme was racist, homophobic, xenophobic, and misogynistic. Have I left something out?

This country was founded less than 250 years ago by people seeking a better life than they had under European rule. The visions our founding fathers had for this country had never been tried before. When the United States of America was established, there was no other country on earth like it. While I certainly believe the creators of this nation were aided by God, they were also mere mortals. Being an experiment like no other, it’s absolutely unreasonable to think that as this nation grew, mistakes weren’t going to be made, that some old world tendencies and practices wouldn’t be ported over to the new world. America was not the first country or culture to practice slavery. America was also not the first country to round people up, drive them from their homes, and place them on reservations or in internment camps. If you think that women had the right to vote in the old world, I got some swamp land in Louisiana in which you might be interested.

Because the United States of America was established as a free nation, we had put in a mechanism whereby our wrongs could be righted. Through the power of the first amendment, people were allowed to speak their mind, protest, and use the press to bring about change, and that’s just what happened.

If you look at how old civilization is, from a Biblical standpoint, this world is over 6,000 years old. This nation was only created about 240 years ago. In that short period of time, the USA has become the greatest nation on earth. Sure there are other free countries out there, but they copied us.

Slavery was eliminated in 1865, women were given the right to vote in 1920, plus civil rights legislation was passed in 1964. Forty-four years or one generation after the Civil Rights bill was passed, America elected its first black president. Even though I don’t agree with him on one thing and don’t care for him, he was elected by a majority of the American people, and just a mere 44 years after the barriers were lifted.

The older couple in the meme feels that if Hillary Clinton is elected president more of our freedoms will be lost. I agree with them. Freedom of speech and freedom to bear arms are being attacked, along with religious freedom. I agree with the message that is being conveyed by the meme.

THE CAMPAIGN ISSUES – WHERE EACH CANDIDATE STANDS (PART THREE)

This will conclude the series where I’m outlining where Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump stand on the issues affecting this nation. Taken from the website, diffen.com.

Trans-Pacific Partnership

Donald Trump: Trump has lambasted all trade deals, including the TPP, saying they weren’t negotiated well and the terms should have been made more favorable to the United States.

Hillary Clinton: Clinton was more measured in her public response to the TPP. When she was Secretary of State, Clinton and her staff worked to finalize and pass the TPP trade agreement.

The Death Penalty

Donald Trump: Supports the death penalty, and advocates mandatory death sentences for those who kill police officers.

Hillary Clinton: Clinton supports the death penalty, but believes it has a place in a very limited number of federal cases.

Syria and ISIS

Donald Trump: Would prefer not to have boots on the ground, and would rather eliminate ISIS main funding by destroying their oil wells, refineries, etc.

Hillary Clinton: Clinton supports a no-fly zone, as well as training Syrian rebels. She is for strong U.S. involvement in fighting ISIS, short of deploying boots on the ground.

Position on Iran

Donald Trump: Trump has said he would reject the Iran nuclear deal and renegotiate it.

Hillary Clinton: In favor of Iran agreement. As Secretary of State, laid the groundwork for sanctions on Iran and negotiations on the agreement.

Position on Afghanistan

Donald Trump: The Afghanistan War was necessary. Maintaining a presence there is necessary because of proximity to nuclear-armed Pakistan. Maintain troop strength to about 5,000 soldiers.

Hillary Clinton: Clinton has said she’d be open to maintaining some troops in Afghanistan as necessary.

Position on TARP

Donald Trump: Trump supported the Wall Street bailout. “Nobody really knows what impact it’s going to have. Maybe it works, and maybe it doesn’t. But certainly it is worth a shot.”

Hillary Clinton: Clinton supported the TARP bailout of financial institutions on Wall Street.

This concludes my three part series on where the Democrat and Republican candidates for President of the United States stand on various issues. I hope you will read and decide which candidate falls within your boundaries. And I hope you have boundaries.

BLACK LIVES MATTER EXPLAINED

BLM

I shared the above meme from my personal Facebook page stating: “If Black Lives Really Mattered to You, You’d be Gunning Down Gang Bangers and Dope Dealers Instead of Cops.”

This was about the Black Lives Matter movement not hesitating to destroy property, injure people, destroy businesses, and interrupt people’s lives if someone black was shot (and killed) by a policeman, particularly a white policeman before an investigation of the incident could be completed, and the facts determined. However, when it comes to black on black crime, such as on the streets of Chicago and Detroit, the movement doesn’t seem to care, along with many blacks.

A FB friend took issue with me, indicating first that this was not how BLM worked, nor was this how the justice system worked. In the United States of America, innocence is assumed until proven guilty. However, BLM seems to be out there rioting and destroying before an investigation and trial can be conducted. While some of the BLM folks in certain incidents have indicated that they want to protest peacefully, they have generally never waited until the facts of the case were determined. Then there’s always those folks who never intended to protest peacefully, with their actions leading to property loss, bodily injury and total disruption.

This same individual also indicated that there had been no cases where the BLM movement has been charged or correctly accused of causing any physical harm to any officers. The organization, as a whole, may not have shot any police officers because organizations are not tangible. But, according to TheGatewayPundit.com, as of July 17, 2016, at least eleven police officers have been shot dead, and several shot and injured by Black Lives Matter activists since the movement began in August 2014. The FB friend indicated that the movement was one thing and then there are just people who are consistently mad at the perfect law enforcement officer, no matter what color his or her skin may be.

If the BLM movement is indeed unicorns, puppies, and justice for all, why didn’t they denounce these isolated individuals who were rioting? Why didn’t they denounce those individuals who were alleged to have shot the police officers? Why were alleged members of BLM protesting at the Minnesota state fair and in the streets of New York City,  yelling, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon,” and “What do we want, dead cops, when do we want it, now?” Why did they unabashedly interrupt a Bernie Sanders rally when Bernie was running for the Democrat nomination for president?

The person objecting my sharing of the meme  also referred to “perfect” law enforcement officers. No one ever said that all law enforcement officers were perfect. Yes, there are bad cops, but overall, our police officers are fine people. I have law enforcement officers in my family, and I was engaged to one. I’m on the side of law enforcement.

My nemisis went on to indicate that this meme was outright false, political fodder, conformation bias material, divisive props, and not even close to being finished on this list, but completely dismissive of what the cause actually stands for. This meme was asking a question, no conclusions were drawn. Political fodder? Perhaps. Most liberals have no problem with the actions of BLM and most conservatives do. Confirmation bias? Confirmation bias is defined as the tendency to interpret new evidence as confirmation of one’s existing beliefs or theories. I haven’t seen any new evidence that would indicate that Black Lives Matter is something else other than a violent organization where its members take the law into their own hands and create havoc when something happens that they don’t like. The leaders have not come out to explain themselves or the organization. Divisive props? The meme is one with which most people are either going to agree or disagree. I’m not sure what the person who took issue with this meme may have meant in the allegation following divisive props, but he/she did indicate that people like me are dismissive of what the cause actually stands for. Again, maybe if Black Lives Matter is about justice for all, why don’t their representatives come out and explain themselves? Why don’t they explain why isolated incidents of police officers shooting blacks get their attention and the daily, sometimes hourly black on black murders in Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, etc. get dismissed? Don’t these people also deserve life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

My FB friend further indicated that BLM was being treated like a joke. I can tell you, the Black Lives Matter movement is no joke, and I don’t know anyone who thinks it is. It’s a dangerous organization, and has failed to prove otherwise. Of course it’s not okay to take the law into your own hands. The meme was illustrating that since BLM expends so many resources and energy causing havoc whenever a policeman shoots one black person, without regards to the facts of the case, wouldn’t those resources and that energy be better served in situations where multiple blacks are sometimes killed in one evening.

While representatives of billionaire Democrat activist George Soros have vehemently denied the funding of the Black Lives Matter movement by Soros’s Open Society Foundation, documents have been published which show that two months before the denial, the OSF board approved $650,000 to BLM. This is according to thenewamerican.com. Instead of using this money to actually help improve the lives of poverty stricken blacks, it was used to create more unrest in the form of violent protests and staged riots, also according to thenewamerican.com.

You may remember that George Soros once said that he would be willing to spend every penny of his vast wealth to defeat George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential election. He’s still wealthy and George Bush was elected. According to humanevents.com, Soros would like nothing better than for America to become subservient to international bodies. He has repeatedly said that he sees himself as a messianic figure.

Divide and conquer is one of many ways that a nation can be weakened and eventually diminish and or dissappear. Certain elements have been seeking to divide this country along different lines, including racial, social, economic, and political for decades. George Soros has no love for the United States of America and is allegedly funding and promoting groups that seek to divide the country.

Food for thought.
