IMPRESSIONS OF OBAMA’S SPEECH

Next UN Secretary General?

Obama is always wrong

In Obama’s speech in 2004 to the attendees at the Democrat National Convention, State Senator Barak Obama, in a fiery speech that had the Democrats slobbering all over themselves, stated that there was no liberal America, no conservative America, no black America, no white America, there is only one America.

Fast forward to the present where he has slightly less than six months to serve as president of the United States, and the citizens of this nation are more divided than ever. We’re divided not only on political and racial lines, we’re divided along socio-economic lines, and religious lines. He has continually played the race card, involving himself in local level disputes such as the ones involving Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., a former professor at Harvard University, a black man and a white policy officer, James Crowley. Without knowing all the facts, Obama came out against the white police officer. I thought he was supposed to be a president to all the people, and that we didn’t have a white America or a black America.

During Wednesday night’s speech, he indicated that he was filled with faith in America and possessed much optimism about America’s future. That’s not how he felt when he first took office and shortly thereafter went on the “apology tour” in order to apologize for what he perceived was wrong with this country.

In Obama’s speech, he,  of course, talked about his signature legislation, Obamacare, saying that access to health care was now a right, not just a privilege for the wealthy. Excuse me! Millions of folks were covered for reasonable amounts through their employers. And while purchasing health insurance on your own cost about 2-1/2 times what you paid if your employer provided coverage, it wasn’t near as expensive as it is now if you’re not covered by a group plan. Obama further stated that millions more people were now covered. Not in my scope. While I know of maybe one or two folks who have been able to purchase health insurance because they were previously denied due to pre-existing conditions, I know a lot more who are not covered because they can’t afford to purchase coverage or they can only afford to purchase coverage with deductibles so high that if something catastrophic occurred, they would take a big hit or face financial ruin.

Next, the president indicated that we are on our way to weaning ourselves off of foreign oil. Yes we are, but it is nothing that you did. In fact, you and your liberal henchmen fought this. It was the oil companies/the private sector that developed “fracking,” an innovation which allows oil and natural gas to be removed from the ground in an environmentally safe manner. The extraction of oil and natural gas via fracking was only allowed on private lands, not government lands. Thus, the private sector was able to pull this off and cause decreases in the price of oil and natural gas. If this president were to have had his way, we would be making feeble, if not failed efforts to rely on unreliable and expensive green energy. We’d all be either freezing or burning up. Plus, lower and middle income individuals would be hurt by having to spend more of their hard earned money on heating and cooling their houses and gas for their vehicles.

He also claimed to have shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons’ program. A BOLD-FACED LIE! Then he indicated that as a country, we have never been more secure. THE GREATEST THREAT TO OUR NATION’S SECURITY IS ISIS AND OTHER ISLAMIC TERRORIST GROUPS! He also talked about God, but has continuously denigrated Christians who he claims do nothing but cling to their guns and to their Bibles.

At one point in the speech, he indicated that Democrats and Republicans do have their differences and that these differences is what keeps this country moving. However, he has done nothing but trash Republicans and blame the congressional Republicans for his failures.

In Obama’s speech, he says he loves this country. There’s no way that I’m believing this. Like I said above, he went on that apology tour during his first term in office and has never championed American exceptionalism. He and congressional Democrats pushed through, using every legislative trick in the book, the most insidious piece of legislation that has ever been wrought on the American people, Obamacare. He has also refused to define this country’s number one threat, Islamic terrorism. Whenever there’s an attack carried out by an Islamic terrorists(s), he blames it on guns and further seeks to pass stricter gun laws which will make it harder for law-abiding Americans to purchase firearms, but will do nothing to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

Another thing Obama indicated was that America is more respected in the world now than it was eight years ago. BS! Another lie. He also said that America is a great nation. When did he change his mind? Saying that the crime rate in this nation has gone down is another lie.

He further talked about the founding fathers and government by the people, indicating that the American people don’t want to be ruled. He’s consistently trashed the constitution and has indicated that it was an outdated document that got in his way. Maybe he determined that after his “I got a phone and I got a pen, and I’ll go around Congress to do whatever I want to do” rant. This was not exactly met with affection.

He talked about his grandparents in Kansas City, and the values that they taught him as a youth. I was just waiting for him to describe his grandmother as a “typical white woman.” One of these values was hard work, but he’s no advocate of hard work and sacrifice. All he, Hillary, and the rest of the Democrats desire is to have as many people as possible living off of the government dole.

While about half of his speech was dedicated to him and his non-accomplishments, he did eventually get to his endorsement of Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton.

He stated that Hillary Clinton never quits on anything. But what about Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer, Sean Smith, and CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods?

He also claims that no one has ever been more qualified to run for president than Hillary Clinton. WHAT A LIE! So unfathomable. He further indicated that Hillary is respected around the world. How can anyone be so gullible to believe that? He also indicated that Hillary is a friend of the working population. BS! Neither Hillary nor Obama are “friends of the common man.” See my comments above.

He told those in the arena and those watching or listening elsewhere that Hillary would continue to honor our police officers, as he had done. He’s never honored our police officers. All he’s done is interject himself into local matters and giving his opinions before he had the facts. I read in a book, authored by a former Secret Service agent, that while First Lady, she referred to the Secret Service as “dressed pigs.”

He went on to elaborate that Hillary is a “change-maker,” and forgets no one. Of course, we all know what BS that is.

During the course of the speech, he often attacked Donald Trump, and it was brought to my attention during the post-speech commentary that it is not custom and practice for a sitting president to attack the nominee of the other party during his party’s convention. Well, guess what? He’s breached every protocol of the office of the presidency. What else is new?

In summary, Obama spent half or maybe more than half of the speech singing his accolades. By the time he got to Hillary, I was already getting tired. But the common theme running through the speech seemed to indicate that he now loves his country when he once hated it and that the country is great, but he hasn’t always thought so. Does he really think this country is now great because of all the things he has done? Could be. The Democrats all think so.

Do I think that Hillary picked up votes because of Obama’s speech? Maybe a few. Maybe I’m naïve, but I still have some faith in the American people that they are going to Hillary, Obama, and the Democrats for what they are, and while Donald Trump was not my first choice for Republican nominee, Obama has come pretty close to destroying this country and electing Hillary to the presidency will certainly finish it off.

FIRST DAY OF THE DEMOCRAT NATIONAL CONVENTION

While I was aware of the protests by Bernie Sanders supporters outside the convention hall during the day and the booing of ex-DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, I didn’t tune in to watch the convention until almost 6:00 CDT. Furthermore, I did want to hear the commentary and watched the Fox News Channel. I watched the speeches of Corey Booker, Michelle Obama, Elizabeth “Fauxkahontas” Warren, and Bernie Sanders.

Common Themes of the Democrat National Convention

Booker, Fauxkahontas, and Sanders talked about what’s currently wrong with this country such as millions living in poverty, millions on food stamps, the lack of opportunity, income inequality, etc. But they seem to forget that a Democrat had the bully pulpit for 7-1/2 years plus they completely controlled Congress for Obama’s first two years in office.  This probably resonated the most with me.

Booker, Fauxkahontas, and Sanders also indicated that Donald Trump’s acceptance speech was a negative one with Booker indicating that with his speech, he incited fear. I have to wonder if any of them watched Trump’s acceptance speech or read a transcript of it afterwards.

Again, all three of them spoke about Trump’s alleged shady business dealings, mentioning the four companies in which he bankrupted and the vendors which he allegedly didn’t pay for their services. We all know there is no love lost between Donald Trump and Fauxkahontas, and the vehement dislike that Warren has for Trump was on display during her speech.

With Fauxkahontas leading the pack, all three speakers did touch on Trump’s alleged racism and his comments about Mexicans coming into this country illegally rapists.

Overall Impressions

While Corey Booker’s speech has only been discussed sparingly, I thought his speech was the most palatable of them all. He began by talking about our founding fathers, patriotism, love of country, and how this country was great.

Booker said felt that Donald Trump incited fear in his acceptance speech last week and accused him of being a racist for his remarks about Mexicans coming to this country illegally, many of whom were racists and criminals. Booker expressed concern about Trump allowing his racist views to affect his decisions. Well, didn’t U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Sonya Sotomayor say that her ethnic background and attitudes would certainly affect the decisions she has to make?

Booker also pointed out that Trump said the he would not allow Muslims to come into this country because of how they pray. What Donald Trump actually said was he would not allow them into this country until this could be straightened out, meaning until they could be properly vetted.

He ended his speech saying that families were the building block of this nation and that we were a nation, indivisible, under God, and God bless America. Some of the liberals had to have been upset with the mentioning of God and families.

Michelle Obama’s speech was not necessarily as political as the speeches given by Booker, Fauxkahontas, and Sanders. She seemed to dwell on what she and hubby have had to go through and have been called. While she didn’t say it outright, I’m guessing that she was saying she and hubby had difficulties because they’re black, though Barak is half white. You know what, Michelle, everyone has their difficulties and their crosses to bear. But look at you, you’re one of the most admired women on the planet (not by me, of course). Your every whim is catered to. You dine on expensive food, wear expensive clothes, and take expensive vacations. Doesn’t sound like you’ve had it all that bad.

She commented on having to wake up every day in a house built by slaves. She hasn’t awakened every morning during Barak’s presidency in the White House because she’s taken so many vacations. First, the White House was not built solely — or even primarily — by slaves. In addition to the slaves, the labor force consisted of local (from Maryland and Virginia) white laborers and artisans and a number of immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, and other European nations. Second, the government paid the slaves who worked on the White House. While many of the surviving records only indicate payments made to their masters, at least one slave — Philip Reid — was paid directly, a sum of $1.25 per day ($31 per day in 2016 dollars).

Michelle also indicated that the United States was a great country, but that’s not what she said eight years ago. Eight years ago, she said, after hubby became the nominee, that this was the first time she had ever been proud of her country. Could she possibly have thought that Barak and Barak alone made this country great?

As one talking head observed, Fauxkahontas ripped the skin off of Donald Trump. This is no surprise since the two don’t like each other. In listing all the things that are wrong with this country and need solving, she directly blamed the Congressional Republicans for these wrongs. Again, like Booker and Sanders, she has seemed to have forgotten that Democrats controlled the Senate and the House during Obama’s first two years in office.

Bernie’s speech was mostly socialism/communism. He thanked his supporters for voting for “political revolution.” He also said to his supporters that he hoped they were willing to pay an enormous price as they begin the transformation of the United States of America. He’s looking forward to being a part of the transformation struggle. Little scary there.

Without actually using the word, “endorse,” he indicated that his full support would be directed her way and from what I understand, he had to beg and plead with his supporters to not cause problems at the convention.

Of course, he called for re-distribution of wealth and indicated that everyone who works a forty hour seek should not live in poverty. He also indicated that the minimum wage should be replaced with a living wage. Then there was more of the “free college” rhetoric. Karl Max 101. What else can I say?

At one point in his speech, Bernie talked about presidents before Obama had added to the national debt. But he failed to mention that Obama, all by himself, tripled the national debt during his presidency.

He also mentioned climate change, indicating that it is a great environmental crisis facing our planet and we must transform our energy from fossil fuels to clean energy.

Moving onto universal healthcare, he acknowledged what all of knew, that he is an advocate of the single-payer system. He wants every American to have access to health care. Wasn’t that what Obamacare was supposed to do, Bernie?

Finally, he called for the breaking up of financial institutions once they became too large, and the re-passage of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act. Bernie is also against the Trans-Pacific Partnership as is Donald Trump.

While a lot of us consider most things that Democrats say as disturbing, there were a few things said last night that should scare any American.

Both Fauxkahontas and Bernie called for shutting down Citizens United. According to its website, Citizens United is an organization dedicated to restoring our government to citizens’ control. Through a combination of education, advocacy, and grass roots organization, Citizens United seeks to reassert the traditional American values of limited government, freedom of enterprise, strong families, and national sovereignty and security. Citizens United’s goal is to restore the founding fathers’ vision of a free nation, guided by the honesty, common sense, and good will of its citizens. According to Wikipedia, it is a conservative 501(c) 4 non-profit organization.

Citizens United is a private organization and unless is it doing something illegal, it has every right to exist. The fact that Bernie and Fauxkahontas (I think) want to shut this organization down should send chills down everyone’s back. Shutting down private organizations such as Citizens United and the NRA is ruthless totalitarianism. Everyone should be scared. Liberals have also talked about shutting down the NRA, another private organization that has every right to exist.

Bernie talked about revolution and while it was by revolution that this country was founded, the very word does scare most of us. More specifically, Bernie talked about the political revolution and said he hoped that his supporters were be willing to pay an enormous price in transforming America. He further said that he was looking forward to participating in the struggles of the political revolution to transform the United States of America. Does this not sound like a declared goal, and one that is to be continued until this nation is completely transformed into the socialist/communist utopia that the liberals desire?

Today, many of the talking heads seem to be slobbering all over Michelle Obama and the speech she gave last night. No one hardly mentions Corey Booker’s speech. Tonight we’re certain to be entertained by Michael Brown’s mother, Lezley McSpadden, and other members of “Mothers of the Movement,” which includes those who had loved ones who died due to gun violence while in police custody or as a result of police actions, whether the actions were justified and the victim was resisting arrest or attempting to kill the police officer, making no difference.

Lastly, former President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker. The former chief executive has grown older and has some serious health issues. We’ll be able to gauge how much his health problems and the aging process have affected his once high energy level.

And did anyone of you notice, there are no American flags in the convention hall; and last night, there was no mention of national security, ISIS, or any other Islamic terrorism group?

BARAK OBAMA HAS DIVIDED THIS COUNTRY ALONG MANY LINES

A meme from “Go Left” appeared on my Facebook news feed stating the following: “People yell that President Obama has divided America. But Obama didn’t divide our country, their unwarranted hatred of him did. Electing him was like turning on a light in a dark room and exposing the cockroaches.”

GoLeftMeme

There are differences of opinion on how we should govern ourselves because our founding fathers set up our nation that way. Because of the way this nation was set up, we have the right to voice our opinions without fear of government reprisal.

There’s not one issue with which I agree with Barak Obama, and I have the right to say that. Since Obama has been in office, he has “trashed” Republicans repeatedly. Plus in the first term of his presidency, he called upon folks to listen for any comments that disparaged his policies and agenda. This is in contrast to former President George W. Bush, who, many times indicated that Americans had the right to disagree with him. President Bush even met with parents, spouses, and other family members of those military personnel who were deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, but were against the wars.

Barak Obama was elected to the presidency to be the president of all Americans, not just Democrats, not just blacks and other minorities. Instead of being the president of the United States, Barak Obama didn’t waste any time in interjecting himself into a local level dust-up in which he had no business becoming involved. This incident involved Professor Louis Gates, Jr., a black professor, who was returning to his Cambridge, Massachusetts home after a trip to China. Finding the door to his house jammed, he was trying to open it when he was arrested by police Sargent James Crowley. Sargent Crowley was responding to a 911 call in which the caller reported there were men breaking and entering Gates’ residence. Gates was never charged.

On July 22, 2009, six days after the incident, Barak Obama said the following: “I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that…the police acted stupidly…there is a history in this country of African Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.” Subsequently a “beer summit” was held at the White House where Professor Gates and Officer Crowley were treated to beers with Obama.

Again, this was something in which the current president should have never involved himself. It was a low-level local matter. If the local NAACP wanted to get involved, that would probably be okay, but the incident was nothing close to the level where the leader of the free world should be putting his priorities, including protecting the people of this country, aside to become involved in a local dust-up.

The cases of Treyvon Martin and Michael Brown were also local level incidents where the president had no business interjecting himself into, much less sending a representative to the funeral of Michael Brown, a thug who, before he was shot, robbed a convenience store and then while being apprehended, tried to take Police Officer Darren Wilson’s gun away. Subsequently, representatives of the “Black Lives Matter” movement, which arose out of the Michael Brown shooting, was predicated on a lie, and currently advocates the killing of law enforcement officers and the destruction of property, were invited to the White House.

Not only has this president sought to divide this country along racial lines, he has sought to divide us along socio-economic lines. He has constantly harped that the rich don’t pay enough in taxes and has told low and middle income individuals that the rich are evil and anyone who is rich somehow became that through nefarious actions. He has further indicated that the rich, particularly the rich Republicans hate the poor and want them to suffer when, in reality, it is the other way around. Because no one ever got rich receiving entitlements such as food stamps and welfare from the government, we want as many folks as possible to be off these programs so they can prosper.

The president and his henchmen have also led lower and middle income individuals to believe that the Republicans don’t care about the environment by constantly preaching the doctrine of man-made climate change. This administration and its followers have also indicated that Republicans want dirty air, dirty water, and to throw Grandma off the cliff (a phrase often used by conservative commentator, Sean Hannity). In the liberals’ quest to gain as much control over our lives as they possibly can, they have demonized fossil fuels and fracking, an innovative way to safely and efficiently extract oil natural gas from beneath the earth’s surface. Fracking was developed by the private sector oil companies…the government had nothing to do with it, except for trying to shut the process down. Because of this innovation, energy prices have decreased, giving low income and middle income individuals some much needed relief.

Of course, the liberals would have you believe that they are champions of lower and middle class individuals and that the Republicans only champion the rich. Well, the “tolerant” left won’t even acknowledge that there is information available that refutes man-made climate change. They are so anxious to cram that theory down our throats and to preach to the American people that unless we immediately get off fossil fuels and go to green energy, we’re doomed. But as President Obama indicated, the price of energy will necessarily rise. The president wants energy costs to rise so we’ll use less of it. If this president and the liberals were really champions of the poor and the middle class, they would be anxious for any discovery out there which would delineate the climate change theory.

Thus, we’re just as divided along socio-economic lines as racial lines.

And let’s not forget religious lines. Even though this president claims to be a Christian, he never misses a change to disparage Christianity. However, when it comes to Islam, he constantly advises the American people to not judge the nation or religion of Islam based on the actions of a few. Of course, after Dylan Roof, the shooter of black church members in Charleston, was seen in a picture on social media with a Confederate battle flag, anyone who so much as owns a Confederate flag belt buckle was labeled a racist, a white supremacist, etc. The president has also referred to Christians and gun owners as “clinging to their guns and their Bibles.”

I don’t see how anyone in their right mind, could say that hatred for Barak Obama divided this country. It was Obama, his administration and liberals at all levels who have divided this country, not the unwarranted hatred of him as the “tolerant” left would have you believe.

FEELING GUILTY ABOUT BEING WHITE

As a political writer who must keep up with what’s current, I often read about such people, but I never thought I would have any contact with them.

Instead, I envisioned these folks as high academicians, giving lectures at institutes of higher learning and wandering through the halls and streets of places like UC Berkley, the University of Michigan, Brown University, Wellesley College, Radcliff, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. They taught graduate level classes in psychology, sociology, and philosophy. For the men, outfits consisting of jeans, t-shirts and old out of style jackets were in order, along with running shoes or Birkenstock sandals, weather permitting, dating back to when Birkenstocks were actually in style. If you’ve ever had a pair, you know they never wear out. For the women, it was much the same except for the jackets, they wore cardigan sweaters. The men would almost always have beards and disheveled hair. Most of the women would be thin with mousy hair. Of course no makeup was ever worn, and fingernails would be short and unpainted. The cars would almost always be older Toyotas or Nissans, containing only the bare necessities. Because fossil fuels were evil, gas mileage was of the utmost importance. Occasionally, one might splurge on a Prius. All of them longed for the day when the use of fossil fuels would be eliminated entirely. It goes without saying that these types fell far to the left in the political spectrum. Businesses, large and small were evil to these men and women.

They longed for the day when the governments ran everything. There would be health care for everyone, healthy food and clean water for everyone plus everyone would have a home or apartment. Political correctness would rule, making speech limited. Guns would be prohibited resulting in very low crime rates since those with criminal tendencies would not have access to guns. Terrorist threats would be eliminated due to universal love, the lack of guns, and climate change solutions that had been put in place by the United States and other countries of the world.

Until then they would be forced to exist in this world full of gun owners, capitalists, Christians, racists, misogynists, homophobes, and the worst of them all, Republicans, also referred to as conservatives.

Of all the sins of the world, racism was the most insidious, fostering white privilege, sometimes referred to as white supremacy. Every white person was born with the racist seed in them and would have to fight their racist tendencies all of their lives. Because of this, white people would be responsible for atoning for this evil seed though feelings of guilt and the inability to enjoy life because as a white person because you don’t deserve that pleasure. Furthermore, you must treat people of color much, much differently than you treat your white contemporaries in order to avoid hurting them further. Life had already dealt them a major blow because of their skin color and you must engage in all forms of political correctness when interacting with them.

After reading a few white liberal guilt articles, I was amused. This couldn’t be real. No one, except for the mentally ill could possibly be this way. Of course, these “tolerant” leftists hate people like me. They pontificate about all the hate that permeates the world and preach to all of us that eliminating the hate will solve the problems of terrorism, crime, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, and the worst of them all, racism. But they’re the ones who exude hate.

Much to my dismay, in the past month to six weeks, I have had the displeasure of communicating with two such folks through social media. So, these people do exist and are not that far removed from me.

Of course, you’re a racist if you don’t support Barak Obama’s policies. You can tell them until you’re blue in the face that it’s his policies you don’t agree with. You can further tell them that you have black friends, and patronize black-owned businesses, but it doesn’t matter to them. After 7-1/2 years of being called a racist because I didn’t support Obama’s policies and didn’t agree with him politically, I got fed up. No more Ms. Nice Girl! I put the ball back into their “oh so tolerant” court, telling them that unless they could point to anything I’ve said or written that denigrates this president due to his skin color, they best not hurl the racism accusation at me. Some liberals I’ve sent slithering back under their rock.

Earlier this week, I decided to get into a liberal thread where the “tolerant left” was ripping Melania Trump, wife of Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, to pieces for the alleged parts of her July 18 speech at the Republican National Convention, that were very similar to parts of Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech at the Democrat National Convention. The originator of the thread just couldn’t understand why no Republican friends of his had come forth with opinions on the alleged plagiarism. Of course, there were snide remarks about Republicans is the post. Remember, this person is a liberal.

My first post was as follows: “I’ve tried to ignore anything Michelle Obama has said after her comment, ‘for the first time in my live, I am proud of my country.’ Although I do remember something about going out and eating fried chicken and some anti-white remarks made to the 2015 graduates of Tuskegee University. I barely remember what I had for lunch yesterday, much less something someone I don’t like said in 2008. I have linked an article about it on my political website and reviewed the two passages that are similar. And that’s what they are…similar. Plus we’re talking a few lines from a fifteen or so minute speech. If that’s all the dems can pick out of the opening night at the convention, I guess the opening night was successful.

A so-called “white guilt” liberal commented to me, “Hi, Nancy, racist much?”

I lit into this person, giving them name of this website and told him what I tell other liberals who have accused me a racism because I don’t like the current president’s policies. This person then indicated that my attitude and reaction demonstrated that I harbored racism. Subsequently, this person indicated that he was prejudiced and racist also, but he tries to intellectually resist it. He admitted that he had work to do since he “brings prejudice to the table.”

This person wanted to help me and pointed out that the mentioning of fried chicken, Tuskegee, and anti-white with respect to Michelle Obama makes me a racist. In other words, pointing out that some of Michelle’s speech to the 2015 Tuskegee grads trashed white people was racist. According to this poster, Michelle Obama should be allowed to say and do anything she pleases, I guess.

The poster went on to accuse me of immediately judging and convicting Michelle Obama due to how she said something in her spouse’s nomination party speech. I didn’t say anything about Michelle Obama’s (2008) speech other than I didn’t remember it. This person also indicated that I condemned the first lady for all eternity, except to remember only the things that she did that were wrong. Oh brother! I don’t like her and I don’t like what she stands for. I’m human, what’s wrong with that? I wouldn’t be surprised if this person had some choice things to say about Nancy Reagan back in the day. But wait! Nancy Reagan was white and that makes it okay to say bad things about her. But Michelle Obama is black, therefore saying negative things about her is not okay.

This person also accused me a being a “label-jacker.” I don’t know what that means and I haven’t taken the time to look it up. I carry the flag of all lives matter to misdirect, denigrate, or water down people of color’s desire to bring focus to what is likely a long-term oppressive cry for help.  The poster said that he/she wanted to help me because I carry prejudice in my heart and mind, indicating that with so many people accusing me of racism, that I should ponder it.

This person is a genuine certified loon; and not having time to stay in this thread, I left. Sure, I could have refuted his accusations, but what good would it have done? There’s no reasoning with these folks. The thread began with a discussion of the alleged plagiarism in Melania’s speech, which should have been nothing than a “nuts and bolts” online conversation. Of course, it evolved into what I described above. I later found out that this person only lives a few hours from me. People like this in the South! “I think I need my smelling salts.”

Unfortunately, there are many folks like this person and they have one vote just like I do. Here’s a few links to articles about these folks. It’s scary.

SO MUCH USE OF THE WORD HATE

When I was growing up, my parents would scold me if I used the word, “hate.” I was taught that hate was a terrible word and should only be used sparingly, if not at all.

ZTrannies-777x437

Instead of saying, “I hate turnip greens,” I was supposed to say that I didn’t care for turnip greens. Furthermore, I was never to say that I hated somebody. Again, I was supposed to say that I didn’t care for somebody. I was taught not to hate anyone or anything, except maybe snakes.

Fast forward to the second decade of the twenty-first century and what do we constantly hear…hate speech, hate groups, hate crimes, haters. The word hate is thrown out there by liberals constantly that no one thinks about the intensity of the word anymore.

In February, 1989, the Hate Crimes Statistics Act is reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. It required the Department of Justice to collect and publish data about crimes motivated by hatred based on race, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. In April, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signs the bill into law.

In March of 1993, the Hate Crimes Sentencing Enhancement Act is reintroduced in the House. It would allow judges to impose harsher penalties for hate crimes, including hate crimes based on gender, disability, and sexual orientation that occur in national parks and on other federal property. In November, 1993, the Hate Crimes Sentencing Enhancement Act is added as an amendment to the Violent Crime and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. It is later enacted.

In November, 1997, HRC asks the White House to focus also on how law enforcement officials are trained to investigate and prosecute bias crimes. Before a White House summit on hate crimes concluded, Clinton unveiled a package of initiatives that included expending federal hate crimes laws to encompass crimes aimed at people because they are gay, disabled, or because of their sex.

In March 1999, The Hate Crimes Prevention Act is re-introduced in the Senate and in the House. In July, 1999, the Senate passes the Hate Crimes Prevention Act after it is incorporated as an amendment to the Commerce, Justice, and State appropriations bill.

In October, 2009, President Obama signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act into law as a provision of the National Defense Authorization Act.

The above illustrates only the high points in the history of Federal late crimes legislation. According to Wikipedia, while all states have their hate crime laws and all states vary, current statutes permit prosecution of hate crimes committed on the basis of a person’s protected characteristics of race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability.

While the history of “hate speech” goes back a ways, I wasn’t able to pin down when the term became somewhat of a household term in the U.S. But if I had to guess, I would say the term became commonplace around the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Later, we learned about hate groups where it seemed as though liberals were calling every group that didn’t agree with them about the issues as hate groups. Among the groups they labeled as hate groups included The Tea Party. For example, a staffer for Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) told reporters than Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo) had been spat on by a protestor. Also Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga), a hero of the civil rights movement was call the n-word. Bill O’Reilly of Fox News offered anyone $100,000 who could verify that this happened. No one could. The Tea Party is comprised of pro-limited government individuals, most are over fifty, who feel that we’re taxed enough already. Occasionally, you might see a sign or placard that might not be in the best of taste, but certainly not qualify as “hate speech.” But it seems as though liberals classify anything that does not agree with their view points as hate speech, and any group that does not fit within the boundaries of their views as hate groups.

I once indicated in a Facebook comment that the Democrat party was only concerned about controlling every aspect of people’s lives. I was then informed by a liberal that the federal government has so many wonderful programs that are designed to help people, and this liberal asked me if I hated all people who were beneficiaries of government programs. She followed by saying that she was trying to get me to stop saying such hateful things. Saying that the Democrat party was only concerned about controlling every aspect of people’s lives was hateful speech? NO! There’s no in between with liberals. If they don’t like what you say, it’s hate speech.

The Southern Law Poverty Center, a far left organization in Montgomery, Alabama, has a list of Hate groups that they supposedly watch. Among the groups they classify as Hate Groups are the American College of Pediatricians and the American Family organization. They also include the Conservative Republicans of Texas, the Dr. James Kennedy Ministries, the Christian Action Network, and the David Horowitz Freedom Center. These are organizations with which I am familiar and these organization are certainly not hate groups. But I will say, to their credit, they have the New Black Panthers listed as a hate group, along with other Islamic organizations.

I can’t possibly go through all the groups that the Southern Poverty Law Center considers as hate groups, but it’s obvious that many Christian groups are listed, as well as right-wing groups. I keep wondering when I’m going to be listed as a hater.

My point is this. If you don’t agree fully with the liberal doctrine, you are part of a hate group, guilty of uttering hate speech, and a hater in general. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of the word, “hate.” As I indicated in the beginning of this article, I was taught that “hate” is a terrible word. Just because you don’t like something or disagree with someone or some philosophy doesn’t mean you’re are a hater. If you express that disagreement, it doesn’t mean you are guilty of hate speech or a part of a hate group who has similar ideology as you do.

While I’m sick of the word, hate, it doesn’t appear that liberals are going to let go of their focus on this word anytime soon. And I’d certainly check the Southern Poverty Law Center website often to make sure that you, your church, or any club to which you might belong is not listed as one of their “hate groups.”
