Monthly Archives: December 2014

When I first started Wing Nut Gal, I was posting about what was currently taking place and just picked topics that I felt would be of interest to readers. I look at some of my earlier work and think to myself…I wrote that? After about eight or nine months, I’m trying to settle in and concentrate on specific topics that will make the blog as unique as possible. I also have plans to fine tune the way it looks and add some additional features.

One of the projects that I hope to start and finish by January 31, 2015 is to compile an e-book with 2014 Wing Nut Gal posts. It will most likely be provided as an Amazon Kindle download and will be cheap. If I can get some folks to by the e-book for 2014, I just might do it again in 2015.

As we celebrate the ending of 2014 and usher in 2015, I want to thank all of you for reading the blog and hope you will continue to do so in 2015.

So, Happy New Year and Roll Tide!

A liberal Facebook friend posted an article about St. Louis County prosecuting attorney, Robert McCullough, knowingly placed witnesses who were not telling the truth in front of grand jurors investigating this summer’s police officer-involved shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. The friend left a comment to the affect that this was a good thing because “we still have a chance.” Of course, the comments on the article were vile to say the least, calling for McCullough’s immediate resignation, disbarment, and for other bad things to happen to him.

This indicated to me that the liberal Facebook friend didn’t care about facts of the case. Instead, it appeared that the friend just wanted to screw the white guy who was also the policeman. Maybe in my “War on Everything Series,” I should have written a post about the war on law enforcement.

Deciding to do a little research on my own, I was able to find an article in the Washington Post, yes, the Washington Post, regarding the witnesses who testified before the grand jury. According to the Post, attorney McCullough decided that anyone who claimed to have witnessed anything was going to be brought in front of the grand jury.  He further said that he know that no matter how he handled this, he would be criticized.

One witness admitted that her elaborate story was taken from newspaper accounts. She also told investigators that she was a racist, bi-polar, and had raised money for Officer Wilson. Another witness described Brown on his hands and knees pleading for his life.  When it was determined what the witness said was not forensically possible based on the evidence, the witness was asked to leave. McCullough has gone on to say that he would not pursue perjury charges because he thought it was more important for the grand jury to hear everything and assess each witness’s credibility on their own. This is not violating any code of ethics and I imagine that every trial attorney at one time or another had a witness on the stand that he or she knew was lying.

In my opinion, the above is a non-story and won’t have any effect on the case what so ever. The disturbing thing is, however, the attitude that liberals appear to be taking with respect to this situation. They are hoping that it will somehow affect the grand jury’s ruling thereby taking down the white guy/policeman. They want an outcome where the white guy/policeman is guilty of racism and the only reason he shot and killed Mr. Brown was because he was black. They won’t listen to or entertain anything else. That’s what they want and by damned, they will do anything to get it. As I’ve said before, liberals don’t care anything about facts; they just want it their way.

I’ve said it before and I’m going to continue saying it for as long as it takes and then longer. Liberals claim to be people of tolerance, the people of acceptance, yada, yada. They claim to be against any stereo-typing of any kind. Just because someone is young, has multiple tattoos and body piercings, wears jeans with holes, and has spikey hair doesn’t make him (or her) a thug or a dangerous person. And how dare anyone even think of clutching their purse tighter to them if they should meet such a person or persons on the street. But, if you’re white, vote Republican, and believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, you’re a racist and a homophobe and the most disgusting thing on the planet. We don’t care what you say; you’re what we say you are. If you own a business, we’ll do what we can to make sure your business fails and you’re out on the street penniless.  We’d really like to put you in jail and torture you and maybe someday, we’ll be able to do just that. While former Senator Robert Byrd, a Democrat, said the ‘N’ word in a speech on the Senate floor and the liberals thought nothing of it, if you ever admit to using that word, even if you were much younger and regret have used it, that’s too bad. We will do everything we can to destroy you.

While the previous paragraph was written with some slight humor, it’s really the truth. Liberals have proven that they will destroy you if you have views that are different from theirs. They don’t need facts and they don’t care about searching for the truth. They’re getting away with running rough-shod over everyone who doesn’t tow their line. As I said, those few words written by a liberal Facebook friend says it all. They have to be stopped, my friends, they have to be stopped.

According to the Democrat party, the current president accomplished a lot in 2014:

  • Millions more people gained health insurance coverage.
  • Executive actions on immigration.
  • Landmark climate change initiatives.
  • More jobs created so far in 2014 than any year under George W. Bush.

While millions more people may have purchased insurance in the market place, premiums are due on January 1, 2015. I will be anxious to see how many people actually pay their first month’s premium. We’ll know a little more as we get into January. And while millions of people may have purchased insurance, many of us who already had insurance, but were forced into the market place to purchase insurance saw their premiums skyrocket, along with their deductibles and co-pays. Maybe the Democrats who can’t seem to see past their noses and don’t care about facts and statistics think this is a good thing, but for the American people overall, this is a bad thing.

So, the current president used his pen to sign an executive order granting illegal amnesty to millions. Executive orders by a president, any president make me nervous and I would rather presidents not use them. Furthermore, most presidents in the past have signed executive orders and kept their mouths shut about them, not wanting to advertise. However, this president touts his executive orders and has threated to do what the hell he wants if Congress won’t authorize what he wants. That sounds like a dictator to me. Of course, there are many Obama zombies out there that think he cares so much about them and the United States of America. They think everything he does is wonderful and they trust him to care for all of us and do the right things. Well, let me tell you something, this country was not set up to be a dictatorship. If you like dictatorships, please move to one of the many places on the planet where the government is a dictatorship.

According to, the current president launched a Climate Action Plan to cut carbon pollution, prepare communities for the impacts of climate change, and lead international efforts to address the global challenge.  Delivering on a commitment in the President’s Climate Action Plan, the Obama Administration launched the Climate Data Initiative on March 19, 2014, a broad effort to leverage the Federal Government’s extensive, freely-available climate relevant data resources to stimulate innovation and private-sector entrepreneurship in support of national climate-change preparedness. So, this president is spending time on a problem that a lot of us think doesn’t exist. Even though there is credible evidence to refute man-made climate change, the current administration still forces it down our throats, stating that it is a fact and refuses to discuss it any further. Again, THIS IS TOLERANCE! Sorry, but I’m just not impressed.

According to, nearly six years after the current president’s election, America is as bad off as it was on that day. Even though the unemployment rate has dropped from 6.8 to 6.1 percent, the number of Americans actually working has plunged since the current president was elected. Then, about 66 percent of Americans were employed. Now it is 62.8 percent, the lowest since January 1978.  Slashing the workforce participation rate means dropping millions of unemployed people from the pool of workers. Once eliminated, the unemployment rate calculated by the federal government is lowered. Can you say, “Cooking the books?”

With millions unemployed, millions more underemployed (Gallup puts that number at 15.3 percent), millions forced to work just part time so employers can avoid the burdensome Affordable Care Act, and millions of 18 to 30 year olds moving back in with the parents, the president still insists that the economy is great.

At a recent Congressional Black Caucus awards dinner, the president indicated that 10 million new jobs have been created over the last 54 months. He called it the longest uninterrupted stretch of job growth in this nation’s history.  However, the current president took office in January 2009, so he’s into his 70th month as president. Why does he only talk about the last 54 months? The answer is that the economy lost nearly 5 million jobs in his first 15 months in office. Once again, he’s cooking the books.

When Ronald Reagan was president, some 16 million jobs were created. During the Internet boom and housing bubble days when Bill Clinton was president, more than 22 million jobs were created. So, for the current president, the number is 5.1 million. Furthermore, the job report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics published in September showed just 142,000 jobs having been created, down from an average monthly increase of 298,000. Meanwhile, more than 500,000 fulltime jobs were lost as some 800,000 part time jobs were created. Also, the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia said that about 18 percent of employers cut full-time workers because of the Affordable Care Act. So, while the number of uninsured may be down, the cost to the U.S. economy has just begun.

I know the stock market is up and the price of gas is down. But my health insurance premiums have gone up 50% because of ACA. My portfolio should be a little fatter and I’m not paying as much for gasoline. So, the extra in my portfolio will probably be offset by the increased cost of my health insurance.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, when the price of gas falls and we have a Democrat president, falling gas prices are due to the wonderful Democrat president and his policies. If the price goes up on a Democrat’s watch, the president doesn’t have anything to do with the price of gas. On the other side of the coin, if a Republican is in office and the price of gas falls, the president doesn’t have anything to do with the price of gas. Lastly, if a Republican is in office and the price of gas increases, it is due to the Republican president and his policies.

Can anyone tell me what H.J.Res. 114(107th) is? It’s the authorization for use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. In other words it was the Congressional vote on whether to invade Iraq or not. The resolution passed 296-133. 214 Republicans supported it along with 81 Democrats. Everyone had access to the same intelligence that indicated Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

According to, President Clinton, in a speech at the Pentagon, made the assertion that not acting against Saddam Hussein was tantamount to allowing him to gain, and therefore to use, weapons of mass destruction.  Clinton went on to say, “Now, let’s imagine the future. What if he fails to comply, and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route which gives him yet more opportunities to develop this program of weapons of mass destruction and continue to press for the release of the sanctions and continue to ignore the solemn commitments that he made? Well, he will conclude that the international community has lost its will. He will then conclude that he can go right on and do more to rebuild an arsenal of devastating destruction. And some day, some say, I guarantee you, he’ll use the arsenal. And I think everyone of you who’s really worked on this for any length of time believes that too.”

By year’s end, Clinton made good on this threat to attack Iraq with U.S. and British forces engaging in a three-day bombing campaign, Operation Desert Fox, aimed at degrading Saddam Hussein’s presumed WMD capabilities. “Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles,” Clinton said as the bombing started. “With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them…and I have no doubt today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again.”

Weeks before Desert Fox, on October 31, 1998, Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act.  In a statement, the President said the following: “Today I am signing into law, the ‘Iraq Liberation Act if 1998.’ This Act makes clear that it is the sense of the Congress that the United States should support those elements of the Iraqi opposition that advocate a very different future for Iraq than the bitter reality of internal repression and external aggression that the current regime in Baghdad now offers.

Let me be clear on what the U.S. objectives are:

  • The United States wants Iraq to rejoin the family of nations as a freedom-loving and law-abiding member. This is in our interest and that of our allies within the region.
  • The United States favors an Iraq that offers its people freedom at home. I categorically reject arguments that this is unattainable due to Iraq’s history or its ethnic or sectarian make-up. Iraqis deserve and desire freedom like everyone else.
  • The United States looks forward to a democratically supported regime that would permit us to enter into a dialogue leading to the reintegration of Iraq into normal international life.
  • My administration has pursued, and will continue to pursue, these objectives through active application of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The evidence is overwhelming that such change will not happen under the current Iraqi leadership.
  • In the meantime, while the United States continues to look to the Security Council’s efforts to keep the current regime’s behavior in check, we look forward to new leadership in Iraq that has the support of the Iraqi people. The United States is providing support to opposition groups from all sectors of the Iraqi community that could lead to a popularly supported government.” goes on to indicate that the act only supported such efforts by the Iraqi opposition and was notably silent on the question of the use of American force. Regime change was never the stated goal of Desert Fox. Mr. Nichols, on his website, opines that what is most interesting about the 1998 almost-war against Iraq is the way that Clinton and others argued that opponents like Saddam Hussein could not be turned back. Also, in 1998, Clinton’s senior advisors debated whether to strike a Sudanese factory they suspected was making chemical weapons. In August 1998, the United States launched Operation Infinite Reach, a series of cruise missile attacks against the Sudanese facility as well as several al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan.

In all of their pontifications and emotional tirades, liberals have convinced themselves and a lot of others that until the Bush administration began no one was linking Saddam Hussein to weapons of mass destruction and that the reason Bush took us to war in Iraq was to get revenge on Saddam Hussein for the assignation attempt on this father, former President George H. W. Bush.

What a selective memory liberals have? There were actions by the Clinton administration in the late nineties that were in response to problems in that region. President George W. Bush didn’t just dream this up as liberals still indicate. If you don’t believe me, just visit some of your favorite liberal websites and search on the Iraqi war.

Note: The purpose of this post was not to only outline the events that took place during the Clinton Administration that led up to the Iraq war which was started during the Bush administration, it is to demonstrate the disingenuousness of liberals when they yell such things as “Bush lied, people died.” I’ve said many times that liberals don’t care about facts, they don’t care about having reasonable dialogs; they only care about hurling false insults with no bases at those who disagree with them. NOW THAT’S TOLERANCE, ISN’T IT?

Also, thanks goes to for the information cited above on the Iraqi Liberation Act of 1998.

“And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.

So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields keeping watch over the flock by night.

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.

Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

And this will be the sign to you. You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven that the shepherds said to one another.

Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.

And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

Now when they had seen him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning the Child.

And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told to them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.”

Luke Chapter 2, verses 1-20

As we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, please remember that we are all his children; and as he came to us a little over 2,000 years ago, he will come again and take us to live with him forever.
